RE: where did you come up with your screenname?

Wasn't there a character (a prosti) by the name FiFi La Rue in the movie Irma La Douce...?

RE: What's everyones favorite T.V. show?

Battlestar Galactica! I wish I had cable to see the new show. I saw the Premier show:Great!! Loved the changes!

RE: Love letters

sorry about that...

RE: Love letters

Vielen danke, es war von mine hertz...

RE: Love letters

Oh they are so much more than "just a memory"; the emotions behind them make them, or rather the person almost tangible... "Love letters" are a positive proff of once being, feeling totally alive; that Yes, I have "proof" that such a rare and beautiful thing actually happened to me! They become one one the most precious items that we will keep and savour all our lives, no matter what; even if we later marry a different person or persons; each batch has it's own niche in our hearts as well as in our proverbial hiding places in our homes.
I know each line in my heart; I don't need to re-read them; I remember each line that I wrote in those far off days when I waxed poetically...(my favourite Poets were Poe,Beaudelaire and Francois Villon), while in a melancholy stupor at the separations. The letters from "my Life's Love" are unfortunatly long gone(stolen, actually, but"zat, my dear iz anozer story..."
the ones from my late wife I keep them mostly for my children to one day discover and read and perhaps feel our emotions for each other. I can only hope so, as their mother died suddenly when they were both very young; they never had the chance to "know us together" as it were. C'est la vie...
AHHH, Munich, I miss that city..........

RE: if you were a superheroe what would your superhero name be?

EsquireX: Already many years ago as a cartoon strip, wherein Cassius Clay/ Muhammed Ali was dubbed "Super Black Man" who battled "Super Whiteman"; mostly ending in stalemates tilled pulled off the markets of "underground comics" It was really dumb, but I like your scenario better; go for it!
Lionhearted, Prozac Woman was also done several years ago as a spoof; among those other "drug-heroes" that she battled was Zoloft Man; both and others have made brief appearances in really bizarre "underground movies" such as Valium Of the Dolls and Beyond the Valium of The Dolls, Prozac Nation: the Movie!
In Paris during the 60's, I helped make "a short underground" movie, "Painters of the Purple Rage"; we had someone as Captain Acid! One scene was him trying to paint on the sidewalk a heart, with "ME & LSD" in it.Whoa, apologies...I regress...

RE: ghosts

Excellent post Wizzy, it is also my firm belief. Did you know that currently there are actual experiments going on to actually "see" the other side as related by so, so many who have gone through "the tunnel experience" and have been sent back. Many have said it is a matter of sight, vision,a light spectrum etc. But on a truly "lighter side" of this, imagine if "they" succeed...the ads for "those special glasses" NOW at your local drugstore, at your local optometrist's! Only 9.95!...I don't want to see that....

RE: list five things a man has like about you in the past...

I was going to try and be witty by asking if this section was "gender restricted" but after reading the replies from hotlips, I can only shake my head and wish her better times...

RE: What's everyones favorite T.V. show?

Try Italian sci-fi; movies books or tv; they make the Flesh Gordon movies look like major Hollywood productions! I doubt that there will be any Italian astronauts at their rate....

RE: What's everyones favorite T.V. show?

Cable internet here also; cable tv, tooexpensive; kids do fine without it.
Favourite TV shows...The Rocky and Bulwinkle Show; even got it all on dvd! Monty Python;found a lot on dvd's Benny Hill, and my all time favourite Babylon 5; still too expensive on dvd! But I found the first season on vhsat 2 dollars each;I'm content.

RE: What is with all the no picture profiles????

Vanity, I love your laugh, reminds me of Boris from the Bulwinkle Show!
Anywho, someome made a very cogent remark that is quite true here; this is "a community" perhaps not "in the flesh, but certainly of the flesh and as such, in this vain, comparing both types of "community" as defined in all dictionaries, "normal" people do not go around with their feartures hidden, nor woth sacks over their heads, masks, etc. (This in no way includes the non-Western World by the way) A person appearing in public with their heard covered...or missing, in any way, what would you think the reaction would be; "privacy" doesn't seem to be an issue...
In any community, everyone sees and/or recognizes each other visually; wereas in a cartoon an outlaw with Wanted posters all over the area, walks around with a bandana over his face, so that no one can recognize him; or does it go a lot deeper...

RE: What Defining Person or Event Made a Differnce in Your Life?

Hello Joanne! nice to "see you" again!
I have spent many enjoyable years seeing, observing and living that show. It's been a reel to real to reel life and it's really the only way to live!

RE: What Defining Person or Event Made a Differnce in Your Life?

On "the bright side of life" it was when I saw the very first show of" Monty Python's Flying Circus" and I thought thenk god, I'm not alone anymore! Their outlook on things is one that I can really really relate to!

RE: favorite sayings

"Old farts remain old farts without a group of young militants to shake things up!" (I've forgotten who said that, either Malcom x or Stockley Carmicheal, but I can "dig -it"! My "altitude" towards the world in general has always been, as I declared at a "student demonstration" in "68, "Let the World linger on my middle finger!" and it still is.

RE: Age Range

Excellent point!! 1000% correct. In Europe and for the most part, the rest of the world, the attitude has always been the when one refers to age, it should only be about wines or cheese; in a few places, camels and llamas are included.

RE: What is your favorite music to get you in the mood?

I like dempewolfchristy's "wild primal mood", after all isn't making love supposed to also be fun! How about "Wild Thing", or They're Comming to Take Me Away", or something soft and cuddly from Monty Python, like"Sit On My Face",or "The Lumberjack Song" for those in a "trans-gender" mode...or trying to keep time and rhythm, one should try KatchaturiN'S Sabre Dance or the old stand-by, The 1812 Overture...fantastic finale!

RE: Age Range

Great idea! The maturity gauge is perhaps much more important than age.....for male and female!!

RE: Quote for today !

One of many that has a multiplicity of applications and has a charm all it's own: "Ape management is now in the hands of the Apes!" Planet of the Apes series.

RE: The subject of income

Hotstrawberries, I like your attitude and responce. I firmly believe in the separate accounts, but also to have one joint account for that"mad money" for the benefit of the whole family/your/his and perhaps "jointly owned /produced children":3 sets. Anyone. male or female joining another family should/ must assume equal responsibity; the very essence of "a joint venture"; but not to throw a monkey wrench into all of this, but what happens to all the points raised with the vows of "for richer or for poorer"...or "in sickness and in health" one looses a job or "gets sick" it becomes as the old song says "hit the road, Jack"? Those vows imply a lot,and a lot of people then ignore them and take the easiest way out...

RE: What is with all the no picture profiles????

And I am (pleasantly) surprised to see so many very attractive females with the confidence and nerve enough to have their photos out, especially when one considers the probable amount of unwanted and un0needed email deluges from "the weirdo class" of males; the usual assortment of typical stereotypes of neanderthalsn perverts, predators, etc, With this happening to females on so many "singles sites" I tend to give those without photos, the proverbial benefit of the doubt; many, I'm sure, would feel exposed to those disgusting types. And yes, I'm sure that quite a few of those types have their photos up also, to "impress the ladies" and will not comprehend "rejection" by any female. Another good point that someone mentioned is that "scammers" won't, usually put up a photo, but Russian ones will and even switch photos on people and other websites.Always err on the side of Caution.

RE: what state /province are you from?

While glancing over some of these posts, the date 1640 caught my attention and so I read it. If I may offer a slight correction pertaining to the history:James Town, founded May 1607;Princess Pocahontas married Sir John Rolfe April 5 1614; son Thomas born 1615.Pocahontas sails to England 1616, dies 1617 of smallpox. Son Thomas married Jane Poythress 1640; daughter Jane Rolfe. She marries Robert Bolling, son of Col. Sir John Bolling of James Town.
How/ why do I know this? The "old" English side of my family (half brothers/ sisters, etc.) are direct decendants of that marriage and to Pocahontas.
Where I used to live in the US, when there, they had held the plantation since 1634 by Landgrant from Lord Calvert; including the land that Georgetown part of DC, now stands. Oh how times have changed....
