seems a lot of us military males sort of feel that way about women, when the drinks flow and the talk turns to women, these guys "expressed their emotions" by venting graphically, on posters...which IS a lot better than actually shooting their ex's!
please define "turns you on"...are we talking about Madness, panting lusts, hysteria(laughing) a scent that sends one off into the world of depraved obcessions of which one has been deprived of for most of their life; here in BC, it could even be "L'eau de Bud" as in maryjuana...; bottle it, put a French name on it as in L'eau de..." and presto, an instant best seller! Both Cheech and Chong have a place up here by the way...
1. Life is a war; no consciencous objectors are allowed 2.Let the world linger on my middle finger! If a man (or woman) does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away...
meanwhile, back on the Far Side of the Uoter Limits...some old aquaintances of mine had another version of this setting free business...if they don't return, hunt them down; or ..if they return and you don't want them back, ambush them! They sold tons of posters with those versions and some even had graphics; they worked at Soldier of Fortune Magazine many years ago.
Lionhearted, thank you for the offer, but I've dozens of books on that topic; speaking of which, the majoe books on Celts and their influence all over Europe, will now be undergoing some changes, in some cases majoe revisions due to the identified Celtic mummiesfound in ancient China; the Chinese aren't any too thrilled over this. In the western most province of Xinjiang, in the deserts of Taklimakan, second largest in the world,Tarim Basin several were discovered, with clothes, hair etc. intact, including what has been identified as the first known Tartans to be made and worn. The mummies are over 4 thousand years old, clear indo-european; seems that the Celtic migrations went in all directions from central Europe. Several books are noe in prit I have 2 one of which is a technical study of the clothing only; an all emcompassing one is "The Tarim Mummies" by J.P. Mallory and Victor H. Mair Thames and Hudson Pub. The one on just the cloths are by 2 women writers, (I have packed it away and can't find it now!) Libraries should have both. Absolutely fascinating!!!
Hi Lionhearted! Your post is wonderful! Your "Ui Neill to Nial eventually became not only a Family Surname, but The Royal Title of all of Ire, changing to "O'Neil/O'Neale etc. It went "underground for a time, especially when Cromwell began his genocide in what became Northern Ire. Horrible creature that Cromwell.A blight on all History.
ok, vat zee heck, Eye vill put up me "Ode To The Avant Garde...Is it Dumb Enough..?" He kicked over some cans of paint.... The dynamics: See the cross current of social Injustice as the red Splash meets the blue field Of priviledged tranquility? The white represents Lost purity sullied by human Lust; There's so much in it... Despair...protest.. Conflicting passions... The forceful expression Of Angst! My painting; Looks like someone kicked over some cans of paint...
Ah, that's part of what I find rather endearing about the Irish. At the Victoria Library there is a 2 part video on Celtic Ireland and the Irish hertage; excellent history ,simply fascinting. Vancouver Library should have a copy, don't need cable, just a tv and a vcr.
There is a beautiful old book entitled History of the Irish Race by , If I remember correctly, Sean MacMagus or Mangus; I can't check, it's packed away.... Most good Libraries will have a copy,; lots of examples of the name adoptions by the English. A treasure trove of Irish history.
Lionhearted, Irish ancestry has a really huge pitfall to watch out for: from the time Cromwell made war on the Irish, the English developed the disgusting habit of taking the name of an Irish family they wiped out. Many of the names were "anglosized", some just a bit; many cases they were not. This has wreaked havoc in tracing Irish family names. It was the English way of "counting coups" as Native Indians had in scalping their victims.
"Alas for those who never sing but die with all their music in them" Oliver Wendel Holmes "Music rots when it gets too far from the dance" Ezra Pound,American Poet Hello Music; nice name!
Ha! An Age old question! Being a "die-hard romantic " at heart, to find that "Love of your Life", anything, everything can be sacrificed if needs be, for that Love will not come again in this lifetime. It's the old thing of "no sacrifice can be too great". We've all read stories of Romance and Chivalry, even Rhett Butler's character was affected by those "codes of honour" to some degree! I've always admired the cavalier manner of dissmissing all for the damsel,,,and paid for it too! But, hey what do I know...yes, I'd go for it!
You've hit several "truths" head on; you have good insight and express yourself very well for all to understand and reflect upon our own particular circumstances. I think that you've made a lot of us think on these matters. Again, Bravo!
There's nothing like a house in th country and a flat uptown from a city's core. The only house I've lived in that was in the country was in southern Maryland, ;relative's old plantation home, totally isolated, but shops etc. 15 minutes away by car. I could turn up the stereos full blast and play the 1812 Overture til the paintings on the walls shook!Being on a bay, however, I did turn it down a bit at night; sounds really travel far and loud on the water!
Usually up at 4 or 5;do art work til around 7:30am; begin to "rattle those pots an' pans" in the kitchen put away last nights dishes etc. and wake my 2 up for school, one at a time to avoid fighting over the bathroom! Then outside on the patio for my 3rd or 4th coffee before I start to get ready to go in.Play with the cats for a while, then bike or bus downtown.
Yes indeed, welcome! I'm really struggling with this of "comming out of my shell", or rather from behind the wall ,over it, whatever. I am by habit extremely leary of people, but I've got to get over it; "tired of being an island". It is hard, even on this format.
BRAVO!! Hear! Hear! Well said indeed; it is very unfortunate but most males can't or won't verbalize their emotions, let alone understand them; but you've done quite well for both!
First impression(s), it's like a simultaneous process; an "aura", "vibes"; the face, the eyes. One's life could very well depend on those "instincts". On a date;I'll just admit right off that I'm nervous; I'm sure she would be also, lets stay somewhere public and try to relax with each other...
Wizzy, there is a new book out entitled The Matrix and Philosophy:Welcome to the desert of the real" is the Full title edited by William Irwin, Open Court Press, Chicago(actually in 3 volumes now). It's very interesting; also on books, there is one titled The Afterlife Experiments by Gary E. Schwartz, phd; Foreword by Deepak Chopra;hardback by Pocket Books; simply fascinating!See if your Library has them, they're expensive.
I've had the same perplexing "no response", that is if silence doesn't count. I found 2 that had several things in common; said my hellos etc. They looked at my profile, but still not even a basic acknowledgement. To me it is simply rude, ill mannered and un civilized given their backgrounds and professions. Shame. Did the people you contacted at least look at your profile??
Astrologically speaking, from the study of the world's astrology systems, I'll stay with the Chinese. I think it's dead0on accurate 99% of the time about people and their animal signs.I'm very comfortable with mine: the Dog. I like the mix of Hotwater64...reminds me of Muhammed Ali at a press conference many years ago.
The worst ghosts are those that persist in showing up in your mind(especially after sharing a bottle of shaving lotion with them down by the ol' dumpster);they have the unmitigated gaul to always show up around christmas...all your ol friends from the military who died in long lost wars...
RE: True Or False & Why - If you love someone set them FREE if they return it is meant to be. If not it
