Me thinking (before typing)? That would never happen. I knew you were talking about buying women (presents). Thai Bride shopping never entered my head!
however when it comes to women the global option could be more attractive Thought we were talking about making purchases?? Just joking...not meant to be offensive
I do my everyday shopping locally and use local services etc. However there is just not enough competition locally for prices to be competitive. For clothes shopping my choices are to travel to Sligo or Enniskillen. I go to Enniskillen as it is just as close and the prices are better even with the rate of exchange. There is usually a difference of about 5 euro per item in clothing in regular shops such as Next which does add up if I am buying a few items. I bought my laptop locally as the guy is really helpful and great after sales service. My cameras I did not buy locally...just too expensive. Obviously in rural areas we just do not have the same selection. I feel that I contribute enough to the local economy. In fairness during the "Celtic Tiger" years I never felt that local retailers gave a crap about me. I encountered absolute indifference in shops and restaurants. Having said that the shops in Ballyshannon are amazing and really do look after the customers. So my long winded answer is do what you can for the local economy but if the item you need is not competitively priced then I do not see anything wrong with shopping around and going for the best deal.
Ah I know M...but watching the ones drop it in there and then wonder if they have used it in the correct cool manner is kinda fun. Re smart phones...well android yokes I have one and it is great apart from the fact that the touchscreen keeps cutting me off when I am on a call...probably me being dumb with it.
Random scares me.... It used to be just a word...not scary at all...now it is like some kind of crazy test... I talk to my 20 something niece and her friends...they say stuff like.." It is so random!" or " He is so random!".. They look back at me almost in a challenging way... I turn into a version of Father Dougal or something...the less bright version I end up paying them to just go away and be "Random"! Steam and Hammers???
Ouch...I am over half way there... I would prefer to think that people would say "Ah I hope she makes another year" than..."Is that auld witch not dead yet?". Then again I have never been overly concerned what people think of me apart from the innate human nature factor. Dont know where I will have travelled I like to play it by ear. I would hope that I would have been the type of person that muddled through life without being nasty to others...well unless I really felt that I had to. If people remembered me I would like if they could recall a time when we had a right auld laugh and not anything sad. I would like to be able to remember watching Cavan win an All Ireland in Croke park ....Most importantly...if I am sitting in a rocking chair replaying that same All Ireland....God help the person who tries to tell me that I am "raving" and that it never happened!
I totally agree E, It is a lot different when you are younger. I have not changed much in years apart from getting more like Victor Meldrew. Just having a laugh with the pic cos I know if I had that up on here no one would ever recognize me if they met me...dont see the point of putting up ancient pics...jees might as well put up the First Communion one if that was the case.
Jeez...thought you said you had an 11 month old...okay in my defence.. screen is smudged and my glasses are missing! Yeah I love that programme too...I was an ancient 14 year old
RE: Local or Global?
