I only saw the end of it so dont know anything about their circumstances, their youngest is 15, the rest have all moved out of home. I would imagine they were raising their kids before there were as many benefits around. Then again I know that Childrens allowance is around a long time, I dont know about any other benefits

Some definitions of Liberal include,free from prejudice or bigotry; tolerant,open-minded , free of or not bound by traditional or conventional ideas, I would think that they would be good qualities in a woman.
Anyway I admire the OP for showing compassion towards a fellow human being in difficult circumstances
I would not imagine that most people set out to become addicted to any drug. It must be very hard to end up in that situation and sometimes disowned by friends and family. I also would think that it is very sad.

Yeah, in the States even if the brand name was written by the doctor unless "DAW" (Dispense As Written) was actully on the prescription the chemist could by law give you the generic brand if you wanted. That is what it was like when I lived in NY anyway.
