I lived here for 21 years..born and raised then left for 14 years...Moving back here was like moving to a new Country. I moved back in 2000 and so much had changed...the tax system etc. plus the Country was so different..even the rural areas.. I moved to an area where I was an outsider and it was almost like being an immigrant all over again... took me a long time to settle and be accepted but now I am back in the swing of things...
Hope you like it enough to stay another 30 years

Firstly..I hope you enjoyed your trip home...sorry I just pop in and out of here and miss a lot of stuff...so I hope you had a blast
I bought a kindle as a gift..it has 3g wireless and the works... Having seen it at work I am almost converted. It actually will let you pause over a word and explain the word even if it is a colloquliasm...(most people on here know that I am illiterate lol)..you can download a book in 60 seconds no matter where in the world you are...really good when you live in the arsehole of nowhere and the bookshop is closed on Sunday (happened to me when I got really into a book that had a sequel)
Sativa...I thought that for me nothing would replace an enclylopedia...hello Google...so maybe I will be converted...

Apart from the fact that I have loved her singing..as much as I have heard of it..which was only on radio or tv. I just loved the "realness" (yes literate people..I know that is not a word) of her when she was interviewed. She seems so sound and works with her husband and seems to have the respect of all around her.

I am almost becoming a convert. I dont have one but I have seen them used by other people. I still love to have a book in front of me but damn...they are so handy...download all your books and away you go... plus you can get the 3g wifi one which means you have internet access..

I saw him in Slane sometime in the 80's ...again not a fan but went with friends. I did see that it was his birthday a few days ago. Have to say that I did enjoy the time that I went to see him in NY. It was supposedly a private taping for an unplugged album. His chauffeur got tickets for the guy that I was dating...told him it was a waste taking me
Having said that I do admire his talent and longevity in the music industry

I didn't know that Bob Dylan was here last year. I saw him at a private invitation only event years ago (waste cos I am not really a fan but I was invited). It was a tiny venue.."The Supper Club" in Manhattan. It was for a taping of an unplugged thing like everyone was doing at the time. He is freakin' tiny...even smaller than me..
