One of my favourite books was "Round Ireland with a Fridge" by Tony Hawks. I hitched around Ireland a lot when I was younger.I remember one time hitching from Dundalk to Cavan. An older lady (probably the age I am now ) gave me a lift. She started talking about my family, I tried to tell her that she had mistaken me for someone else but she was having none of it...so I went along with it cos it was lashing rain. When she dropped me off I thanked her and tried again to explain that I was not the person that she thought I was...she just said "Ah Maggie, you were always a messer" and drove off.. Can't think of any mad stories but if I do I will let you know. Good luck with the book.
Hello there, yeah pretty much what you said. It passes the time and there is some craic on here at times. I have also met some great people from here on different nights out etc. Welcome and enjoy
I would like to think that I Would never be a killer...at the risk of sounding...whatever...can't think of the word. In my Opinion, there are very few good reasons to kill...Damn..I dream of people that I want dead...but like I said..never would be a killer,my own life is way too important to me, go with the positive.. I do understand how parents feel if a child has been violated or if a family member has been killed by someone else..but in most cases that I have seen..killing someone else has never been the answer..
Yeah like anyone is going to bother clicking on all of those links lol... I am still working on the individual ring tones... Just handy if I am driving..cos depending on the ringtone I will stop to take the call...or ignore it ...Plus sometimes I just have waaaayyyy too much time on my hands....eh this is obviously one of those nights
Couple of questions... Half thinking of getting not an i pad (not a maxi pad ...or a tampon with wings if so far is reading this ) Not even entirely sure if I would use one...eh tablet that is not the stuff in brackets! I like Samsung and other everyday people but I am not..eh seriously not a fan of Apple...William Tell was fine...but these Apple people seem to me to want to have a monopoly on everything. Do any of you use tablets/i pads exclusively...my old banged up laptop does me for most things and yeah...obviously my phone is already way better in the grey matter department than I am. Anyway...if I decide to delve into the tablet market I would be looking for one with a usb port..dunno what else I would be looking for... I am a photo freak so probably be looking for a bit of space... Also how do you think I should wear my hair???
In my ignorance..as usual..I have not read the complete thread. I have not watched the budget crap either. Let them tax booze and cigarettes as much as they like, that is a personal choice that users make, it is not a necessity. I hate when they keep killing the youth and the elderly. IMO everybody should have the right to education without cutbacks. The elderly are the people who worked their asses off and should be able to enjoy their last years. I knew one elderly woman who loved to read the newspaper everyday and could no longer afford it. I knew one young guy working in a hotel a few years back who was trying to make a few quid to put himself through college...the hotel made him pay 25 quid..(pre euro) for a white shirt to wear behind the bar when a freakin Dunnes shirt should have been okay. People with disabilities were given a life for a while and now with cutbacks their quality of life is diminishing daily. It is fine for rich a**hole to say...aw we can all cut back..for some people that is not an option, they are already shopping as cheaply as they can, some do not have access to a decent public transport system and still have to drive to work. There is no equality and we are letting down the youth of Ireland who deserve a future and the elderly who have spent their lives contributing to this country economically and culturally.
I can't double quote but yes I like strong bold colours. He is rarely wrong so I thought that I was missing out on some new product that he had discovered.
lmao...Jane??? ah maybe cos I am so plain?? Or I am old enough to have watched Tarzan?? Ah sure it is all a bit of fun...Good evening to yourself...hope all is well in Galway...a lovely part of the world, I love Galway City.
Actually, No, we didn't ring each other, we do not know each other outside of here but we have met at CS parties.. and No, she is not my commander. You have an interesting thought process though I put up the thread because sometimes when I log in I see a lot of negativity and CS bashing. I have only had good experiences meeting people through CS nights out etc. Some really sound people who I would like to see again but I often don't get the opportunity to log in or go in person to CS things to chat to people....That's all...no Clandestine sub CS group with a commander
No need to thank me...sure I have nothing to do with bus eireann or whatever coaches take the bus pass....lovely to see that it is so entertaining for you though
Lol...when you drive like I do, it is important to develop defensive logic....much better than wasting time on driving skills. ...sure all cars have bumpers...right?
How close were you driving to that woman if you could actually see her phone? Maybe you should pay attention to your own driving! Maybe reversing is all about how you think and we are less backward than men in our thinking so it is easier for us to move forward.
There are some really nice people on here, even if they do not show up on the forums... There are also some really nice people who contribute to the forums... So to all of you, thank you for making me happy to log in here now and again
Ah sure I will be buried in a Cavan Jersey GG....Sure if the Cavan team can get buried on the pitch wearing them I can be lowered in one lol. This year I wore a Meath Jersey, a Dublin Jersey and a homemade Donegal shirt...don't ask it was a mad weekend in Ballyshannon with the Dublin/Meath Jerseys...the only one I have never worn was a Kaaavaaan wan but that will change
Damn...aren't you the lucky one...I just retain water...at my age..don't be terrrorizing me with your facts now...Sure "yiz" are all terrorists way up there in the North!!
I tried...but.... Do I need a microphone to use Vocaroo? Yes... if you don't have a microphone handy, headphones can sometimes be used instead (by plugging them into your computer's microphone port). Please note we accept no responsibility for any explosions that result from you doing this. Yikes
I would always have thought of curtseying as bowing to a superior being...as in a commoner curtseying to a royal family member, therefore I thought of it as portraying yourself as a lesser person than the one to whom you were curtseying. However if it was a sign of respect as in a mutual curtsey then I would have no problem with it...can't see myself being particularly graceful at it but sure I would give it a whack if I was visiting somewhere where it was common practice and a sign of mutual respect.
I got 51 as well Fifi and would have seen myself in the lower group also but then again What the hell do I know?, I rarely go around analyzing myself or other people. I think that things such as body language etc. can be over used in assessments. Sometimes I just sit or stand a certain way because it is comfortable and not always the same way either. Anyway, thanks for entertaining us with the quiz tinyfangs
I would say just try to ignore negative comments and interact with the posters whose personalities, sense of humour etc. appeal to you. The forums can actually be good craic if you can ignore the headwreckers. There are some great people on here so please don't let yourself be put off by nasty comments from others. Anyway, welcome and I hope that you enjoy this place, sure all that any of us can do is take it for what it is. I haven't been on in a while so I am mouthing away on all sorts of threads lol.
Sure the Dubs would burn us Culchies alive if they got the chance, I think that they put the "Caip Bháis" (no pun intended but hey...if it works!) on us Regional Accented people having crematoriums. Think there is one in Derry? but in my case I would use the excuse for a last road trip to The Big Smoke..Dublin that is Re Superquinn Sausages must try them before they disappear.
