RE: Anyone here got a Kindle?

Kindles!! Don't get me started....ooops too late..rolling on the floor laughing
I fought and resisted the kindle for over a year now...but I have finally given inblushing
I used to say...No way, I love the feel and smell of a book, nothing can replace that blah blah blah. However I was going on holidays in November and I finally gave in. It is the best thing I ever boughtcheering A lot of the books (okay...allblushing) of the books I read are throwaway crime fiction type stuff. Okay I still have my bookcase with Oscar Wilde, O'Henry etc. really nice books that I will always have but even the paperback stuff that I read I would have thrown away prior to this.
Anyway I bought mine from Amazon US Site as Amazon UK would not ship it to me. I have the older version Kindle keyboard 3g as the newer one was not available but I like this one anyway as I am not great with touchscreen.
I bought the kindle and an electric charger for it, with delivery it cost me 194 euro. Because I bought it off US amazon I can only buy the books from US amazon. The prices are fantastic. I bought a David Baldacci book which is currently in bookstores here for 17.99 it cost me 8.36 (euro). You can also loan your kindle books to other kindle users.
Mine is 3g not wifi which worked better for me on holidays as wifi was not available where I was staying.
When the kindle arrived I rang Amazon UK and tried to register with them but they said that I could not because of where I livedunno Anyway it worked out better for me as the US book prices are way better and there is a fantastic selection of books available. You can download them no matter where in the world you are...(even Cavan lol).I don't know what the story is with the UK kindle and downloading but as of 6 weeks ago they told me that I couldn't. Anyway they will be able to give you all that info wherever you buy it.
I was thinking even when I was ordering it "Am I mad spending this much on a kindle?" but I have to say that it is one of the best things I ever bought. I read a lot and I was spending a lot of money in the overpriced local book shop so this is way better for me.Some people spend their money on dresses and shoes...mine is spent on books and cameras blushing
Sorry for waffling on C. but you did ask!!banana
