RE: Fine Gael's Policy To End The Irish Language In Shcools

I dont understand the new (yeah new to me cos I am an auld wanblushing ) grading system in the Leaving cert. This girl had completed all of her education in the UK system. It is about 7 years ago now since I helped her with the Irish exam but she was teaching in a local national school at the time.

RE: Fine Gael's Policy To End The Irish Language In Shcools

No disrespect to you seeing that English is your native language but for Irish Born People Irish is actually our Native language. Even though English unfortunately is the spoken language in Ireland. I realize that it is a hard language to learn especially if you do not have an aptitude for languages hug. I was lucky enough to have fantastic teachers from the day I started national school and it was from there that the love of the Irish language was given to me. It is a magical language and so much nicer than the English Language (jmo) the turn of phrase and the sayings are so much more colorful than English. I am sad to say that I have lost a lot of my Irish, I spoke it more in New York than I have done here in recent years. It is quite hard to find Irish classes in the area that I live in but I will persevere and be fluent once again. banana

RE: Fine Gael's Policy To End The Irish Language In Shcools

It was said to me once.. "They made us take their language, we handed it back to them and they did not recognize it".
A lot of our Irish sayings actually come from our Native Languageapplause

If it is any consolation I am sure that you have the support of all of those on here who know you. Before I am accused of being part of any click there are some of us on here who remember Flick being harrassed by a lowlife on here before.
I would say Flick that this pathetic scumbag is probably too brainless to carry out any threats. The guards will take you seriously though and all the better if you can print out some of his mails or posts.. though not to worry if you cant access them.
