Southern love song

Embedded image from another site

Early morning lover
shine just before the dawn
I'm losing so much sleep
I miss you since you've gone...

Came into my life like a southern wind
sunshine sister, lover and friend
you left without saying good by
taking all that sunshine in your eyes...

Now I've heard from your mother
you've found another sunshine brother
now he's left you crying and all alone
standing on your feet and on your own...

If you need another sunshine brother
we can try and make things right
I can wake up beside you
in the early morning light...

I remember that warm southern wind
the love we had way back then
I dream about the light in your eyes
enough to keep this man alive...

Garden with sun

Embedded image from another site

Upon lifting her dress
revealing such a sweet flower
red as a rose, her face laughed
her dark eyes blacker and softer...

And on this night of summer madness
she blinded her eyes with black hair
a grimace of pleasure wielding her lips
showing her bright ivory teeth!

Never a warm reproach or bitterness
she gave me all because she wanted
and the burnt roses in her garden with sun
were adorned with the gold fragrance of her fatigue...

A different approach

Embedded image from another site

With this one
I'll take an academic approach
she is really acute
I like her
feeling obtuse sometimes
when she's around...

I plan to make her mine
by speaking in tongue
no weak stuff like
"damn you fine."

Within her symmetry
she is dark
I'm not

I will become her
Cacausian Aladdin
A real Paladin

When she kisses me
my face begins to roseate
I feel like
I'm on opiates...

I want to fly
she and I is just gonna
come back to my side of town

Sunday Morning Song

Embedded image from another site

Sunday morning shine
a bird sings I know not where
it should be your soul awake
open the curtains
I love her singing and reveals.

Listen sings tenderly
from which branch does she sing?
day and night always
I love night and Sunday!

We see the bluebird fly
with colors such as purple and blue
such a beautiful hue
of downy and indigo.

Bird that sings of love
this miraculous transformation
soul singing upon her branch
love is heaven and heaven is blue.

Sister Ave is love
my love is a beautiful woman
A rose is less beautiful
blue bird of love.

Blue bird as the heart
red chest below of cries
seed stars with her song
blue love of my heart.

His Moonlight Girl

Embedded image from another site

Inside his room
intimate circle
a shade of sad
a tear forms.

She does not sob
the tear doesn't fall
it is hidden
within the kiss she gives.

He is happy
a smile forms
there is laughter hiding
in her dark eyes...

Self-Portrait

Embedded image from another site

My verse reveals much about me
they are my songs
sometimes romantic
often adventurous
thoughts from an honest man
romance sometimes happens
my most noble poet friends
this I can tell-

Back in my early days
I guessed art as harmony and rhythm
off to the university I went
to become cultured and rich
but I prefer to be a poet
what then?

I have often suffered
and I have loved
a lot

perhaps enough to be forgiven....

The lonely wife

Embedded image from another site

My phones rings at 1:00 AM
apologies pile online
she the lonely wife
unused, unwanted and unappreciated
undesired confessing to me
sunny days are gone
now she is more comfortable in rain...

I ask of her
how can we unwind desire?
you ask of waistbands of fire
for me to offer you
flowers in an oasis
to relieve this tired stasis
your husband
pretending to live for you...

Let us dance for rain
before you realize you're drowning
Show you how to swim again
no more phony meaningless words
as to whom is suffering more...

All this longing and lying
tonight I am tired
and choose not to be lonely

by myself...

The Outlaw

Embedded image from another site

My love is the outlaw
no rules to follow
no strings attached
I love you for free...

The sun gets higher
today I'm a loaded pistol
needing your palm
to press against my action
waiting for you to crawl into bed
and pull the trigger...

Here I am darling
an outlaw in hiding
both boots on the ground
my eyes shut...

Playing poker for love
stealing tequila drunken
eights and aces in my hand
coming to you across the Rio Grande..

Nightmares

Embedded image from another site

A nightmare force me awakened
the tough life
force me awakened...

My dreams come through the walls
light up my dark room
darkens light ones...

My nightmares are plague carriers
dreams of life
sometimes brings death...

In my sleep I have nightmares
when awake I have my thoughts
I'm not sure which is worse...

Often my pillow is an ocean
some nights I drown
in my own tears and hopes...

If I scream wake me
I didn't mean to wake you
it was just a nightmare...

Biloxi

Embedded image from another site

Come see Biloxi
where beautiful ladies
sun bathe by the sea
they look like mermaids
from a sailor's fantasy...

See the stars shine on Biloxi
city built in the sun
freight trains and tropical rain
and baseball games won
I'll tell you our history
how it all begun...

Come to the coastal city
by the lonely sea and sky
where off in the distance
boats use a star to steer them by
on windy days white clouds fly
and in the salty misty spray
floating sea gulls sing and cry...

Constellation Destination

Embedded image from another site

The stars were people
so well loved
to live forever they
were turned into constellations...

Her cute freckles dot the lines
that is the curvature
of her cheekbones
my ascending destination...

Such magical sensations
in the curves
that is her body
pathway to lovely formations...

Much similar to a map
leading me to her
I never get lost
finding her pleasurable titillation...

If I would lose way
I would just gaze
into her nebulous eyes
following the cosmic vibrations

To bring me back home...

Last kiss in Pompeii

Embedded image from another site

Mount Vesuvius erupts in anger
warm air like butterfly wings
flashes against our cheeks
I hold you my final light...

We stand on the edge of the sea
a galaxy of smoke and soot
swirls around us...

My love I wish
I had wings to carry us
all I have is my shoulder
for you to lean on...

Let us press our lips together
in these final moments
perhaps in the future
archaeologists will find us

As lovers preserved in ash...

About this poem:
You could hear women moaning, children howling, and men shouting; they were crying out, some seeking parents, others children, and others wives, or recognizing them by the sound of their voices. Some were lamenting their own misfortune; others that of their families. A few in their fear of death were praying for death. Many were raising their hands to implore the gods, but more took the view that no gods now existed anywhere, and that this was an eternal and final darkness hanging over the world.
