Foolish Lover

Embedded image from another site

You wore the dress
that I picked out
sexy black skirt
that I raved about

You came to me
as a flower in bloom
I kissed you
when you entered the room

You lifted your dress
I bled out
in my shaded bedroom
you made me shout

Stretched out next to you
I said I loved you perhaps too soon
as you plumed and plumed
I felt like a big baffoon....

The tree

Embedded image from another site

Is love
like wild sweet honey
that bees store
like the tender sap
that weeps from a tree at dawn?

Is it like sap
that flows from
the garden of a woman?
I am here now
with outstretched arms
waiting for her...

The night is cold
I have counted
the silver fingers of the moon
as I imagine
her fingers caressing
my hair...

Outside the wind blows
the night is filled with shadows
in my sky they are dying
as I wish to touch her face
I dream of turtledoves
cooing her to sleep..

ISIS

Embedded image from another site

From far away
the world sees the video
westerner's beheaded
a mother's tear drops far away
the house is weeping
mother I love you
I kiss the moonlight
I kiss the moon face farewell...

ISIS chants Islam
they violate Islam
burn a pilot
they are savage dogs
rabid dogs
carrying a knife in their pocket
asking the world if it has a problem
although the problem is you...

You brainwash your youth
telling them
roses are blue
violets are red
because that's what Allah tells you
because you are blind...

ISIS what separates us from the animals
what separates us from chaos
maybe it is
the ability to mourn
people we've never met
although a stealth bomber
and a suicide bomber
both kill for political reasons...

Her will be done

Embedded image from another site

And now you are with me
your dream is my dream
love is ours as we sleep
midnight turns it's translucent wheels
you laying beside me
beautiful skin black as night...

No one but you mi corazon
sleeps in my dreams
no one else travels to me in shadows
only you morning star evening moon...

Your lips touch mine like delicate flowers
your eyes look into mine
two luscious black diamonds
when you are in my arms
my dream is your dream...

You are my dream
only that
that is all
on this afternoon
the world spins our destiny...

Contemporary Hook Up

Shadows and neon lights
flood the hotel room
we are actors in a soap opera
the pillows drool
at your sexy eyelashes
I anticipate you and I
will share the smell of exhaustion
as we cling to each other
in our soon to be well worn skin...

Perhaps I don't really know
where you've been
or who you hang with
all I can feel right now
is to taste your lips
lick your dark brown skin
I don't wish to know
your favorite movie
you don't know how I like my tea...

This just may be
an acted out
fairy tale romance
or it may just be
a dark night of erotic tricks
then I'll ask for your number
this most dangerou game....

Te amo mi cielo

Te amo mi amor
when you are not around
there is nothing but a setting sun
my body aches for you
your kisses are my heroin...

Te amo mi corazon
I love the night
and days spent with you
I love your smell
your dark skin and lovely hue...

Te amo mi cielo
the taste of your lips
your voice when I'm feeling blue
te amo mi alma
from me to you...

Insomnia

Embedded image from another site

You doesn't know what it's like
to dream of her godly shape
an impetuous fiery desire
like a barb nail to my forehead..

And her smell?
when the world becomes spring
dead leaves recover from snow
there is her an eternal smelling rose...

You doesn't know what it's like
to dream of her lovely dark skin
as I squirm alone in my lonely bed
with insomnia and silver shaped spikes..

My soul a concert with arms outstretched
to a light breeze with green groves
I wish to bite her lip
and to touch her warm dark shoulders...

Clouds are crying

Embedded image from another site

Outside the clouds are crying
misty rain falls
I think of love
missing my woman
love is like a snake it coils
constricting the heart
on other days it coos
like a dove still and white...

Lightning flashes
I am drowsy night scented
I wish for my baby
sure and silent
peace and joy...

The sky weeps gently
falling on my roof
a passionate yearning lover's prayer
a deluge overhead
I have been hers
since January began...

I called her and said
"you should appear
in my dreams more often"
since we meet frequently
in night's sanctuary...

I am driven (for soulgoddess)

I am driven
before breakfast
I put on
my shoes
of many purposes
as the sun rises
before school...

My teachers say
I may receive
top marks
for the goals
I set and fulfill..

They say
life has a funny way
of testing you
to see what you really want
what you say you want..

Perhaps the road to success
is often
longer than you would like
shorter than you would imagine..

Sometimes going to school
and working
tests the spirit
it is better to be
spirit led
than to driven by guilt..

Sometimes you may feel like
Spiderman
Batman
Ironman
Superman
all the superheroes

Because you
are driven...

Two Sunday Poems!

Embedded image from another site

(1) Bitter Sweet

There she was
just a few feet away

Glossed lips
Powdered face
Faux lashes
Contoured cheeks

We locked eyes
then she looked away
cold and distant

Maybe she was
tempting me
to walk in her fire

She was sweet
like sugar

Sugar is what tempts us
pouring upon
our wildest fantasies

Sugar gives us cavities
rots our teeth
our soul
our world

It seems
vanity is
always in style...

(2) Eternal Return

Embedded image from another site

Within the nightly beach wind
my tear soaked path
is renewed with splendor...

Under the moonlit sky
the stars light her black hair...

Surely
she waits...

My new found love
drive away the tenacious evil
the bats of hatred, malaise and anger
the greed of pure lust
from the belfry of my thoughts...

Jasmine incense of answered prayers
I contemplate you
burning all night on the alter
of my lonely heart...

Continuously my passion breath
does not hesitate to chant your name...

From these eyes the Gulf wind
roars and stirs turbulent waves
while I wait for you
to count the stars with me...

My life has been an endless winter
bring to me a warm Spring embrace
do not allow the eternal snow
destroy the tender shoots of love...

Return lover of lovers
pull from me
this poisoned Cupid's arrow
from this your eternal devotees
smitten heart....

Text from my deceased wife

Late last night
I received a text message
from my deceased wife
six feet under
from her coffin
It read
"Hope you find love again"

She is always thoughtful
she says
It's to help me find peace
and not to
look for love
in all the wrong places.

As long as I don't
change my number
she will
keep in touch...

The Gift

Embedded image from another site

I awoke
in the night
that was drenching the city
I strolled to the sea side...

Sleepy crescent moon
kissing the ocean
the sweet song
of the waves...

As I walked
they touched the shore
like hushing fingers
stars winking...

Gently the ocean breeze
reached out to me
as the dawn slowly arrived
with a golden handful

of the gulls cries
suddenly I remembered
what awakened me was dreams of
her sweet gift from the day before...
