Senorita

There is a little dark girl I adore
just down Mexico way
who loves my poetry written of her
and to hear the Mariachi play...

She smells of golden apples
with scent of perfumed flowers
Senorita Jocelyn you are as
agua falling in April showers...

She smiles with childhood innocence
my heart burns with a dark fire
Senorita, tell the Mariachi how to play
whatever your heart so does desire...

Then the Spanish music flowed like honey
the horns, the trumpets began with a roar
they played, we danced until coming dawn
our feet moving and boots resounding on the floor...

Senorita, my little dark and lovely princesa
the dawn is coming you see
let us run away to the sunlit corona
sealed with many besos and our destiny...

Mi cielo, live with me and be my lover
upon our bed I lay a single rose
with ring of gold and cap of flowers
and a promise in these words I do propose...

Let the Mariachi play...

Alternate me(Alternate you)

Suppose in some dimensional space
within a parallel time,
we have a future together,
forged from much different past,
there we are fresh and happy,
gazing through the looking glass...

In a parallel universe
an alternate me,
in love with an alternate you,
small white house with picket fence,
the ground you walk upon,
melting under your existence...

Alternate realities for you and I
with maiden sun casting shadows dim,
we plant cosmic garden and watch it glow,
your eyes sparkling like fiery gems,
swallowing the light so love can grow,
while you hair glitters in solar wind...

A parallel us in a place so far
a multiverse for you and I,
we paint our night with different stars,
together we are eternal under falling sky,
last night I dreamnt another you,
and you were dreaming of me too...

Replay...

The movie of you
stuck in my mind,
same episode
thoughts of you
in reverse...

I make
meek adjustments,
random consolations,
but the script
remains the same...

A constant replay,
tsunami of grief,
like drowning
in your own lungs
hard to breathe
as time passes...

What to blame?
the heart lives on,
things you did,
random memories
of missing you,
things you didn't do...

Maybe you
were just
a B movie,
cheap sequel,
pure exploitation,
an in-betweener...

It would have
been really nice,
if you were sorry,
or blow me a kiss,
perhaps even
giving a real one...

My mind
playing in reverse,
reliving every pleasure
we shared,
most precious being
replays of I love you...

Damaged People (short poem)

Damaged people
you meet online,
are they seeking love?
or there to blow your mind?

Some speak of trust
ladies after money
words of milk and honey,
dressed up in forlorn lust...

Perhaps in the real world
you might know their name,
with damaged people
life is just a game...

Sometimes I am unsure
as to who I am talking to,
could just be a picture
or a vulture after you...

Sorceress (Poetess)

Sweetest woman
an end to sorrow,
my darkest beauty,
such dazzling light
from distant stars
light years away...

A passing comet
to distant lands,
sorceress of dreams,
a haunting music
from her soul...

A midnight sun
erasing a past,
verses of rubies and diamonds
honey sweet
a mystical journey...

Under falling sky
we are lovers,
poet dreamers are we,
in light of new love
we adore us...

Love poem for my muse,
garden of words,
ripe red tulips
for love is no easy friend,
I seek the beautiful...

We walk the sea,
new moon veils sun,
sky slowly changing
orange to red and violet to black,
storm clouds disappear...

To love again,
in the beauty of a woman,
is seen in her eyes,
doorway to her heart
where love resides...

My eyes see her,
heart beats again,
a new love
love will rescue me,
if not what will?

Lost Days

It has been days
since I have been
to the very bottom...

Into a well of nothingness
where there is no water
just dry sand and pain...

One fine day
she will look for me
she will not find me...

She will look
north and south
i won't be there..

I will be
where the sun in born
and where the moon hides...

She will look
where the four roads meet
searching for my footprints...

But it will rain
and the strong winds
will sweep them away...

A Prayer

Oh Lord, at this moment
I pray she is safe,
protected by salvation
so we may share
a lifetime of moments...

Let our coming loving moments
we shall bind together,
hold a hint of immortality,
as we walk the sea
and taste of the sea...

Protect her this moment,
guide her loving hands to me,
save us in your memory
lit by the yellow light
of a flaming lemon sun...

Or deliver your blessings
into the light
that shines upon
this page
barely touching it.

Amor and I

Mi amor and I
sometimes argue
over little things
still we say, "I love you."

My love and I
always fight fair
cos still we
breathe the same air...

Mi amor and I
never shake fists or shout
or raise voices
each other we cannot live without

My love and I
our love is natural
we are forever soul mates
we are eternal...

Mi amor and I
are two very old trees
on top of lush green hill
amidst a warm summer breeze...

El Diablo

Someone alert the villagers
El diablo and his demons are coming,
they are on the loose spreading lies
pitting all the lovers against each other...

Someone call the curandero
to pitch fire under his cauldron,
and to pick the mystical peyote
to mix the elixer of ancient knowledge...

Tell him to consult los espiritus
to call upon los ancianos,
to seek their wisdom and guidance
on how to run El diablo out of town...

The lovers are experiencing self-doubt
believing what the demons are saying,
we will meet down at the ancient well
where the honeybee and butterfly labor furiously...

we will all sing to the stars
and pray for much lluvia,
to wash our lovers town clean
and to start a new moon...

Then our lovers will once again speak amor
they will hold hands under the new moon,
El diablo and his demons have left our village
because el verdadero amor conquers all...

Jeolousy

She saved my life
because of her
I write the poems i could not write...

Sometimes I write
the equivalent of typing into a trashcan
feeding my own wastebasket...

Sometimes I feel jealousy
perhaps we are all savages inside
I tell myself not to feel jealous...

Jealousy is destructive
it won't make me a better writer
or a better person...

Perhaps I can change my network name
I would change it
to humility/surrender...

But she saved my life
I have faith with the work
regardless of how many people read it...

Enamorada

I awoke this morning
with your name on my lips,
as a flock of seagulls
flew from the empty shores of my soul...

But I was only dreaming
of your impending arrival,
until then mi amor
the sun and moon are mere black holes...

If my hands could create
what I have been dreaming,
they would certainly form
the most beautiful statue of you...

In what place are you now?
do your beautiful dark eyes seek me?
lately I want to hug you strongly
until you arrive in a few days I can only dream...

just outside my open window
the honey bee labors furiously,
working from flower to flower,
but your name is still upon my lips...

Lately, there is life everywhere,
sunlight breaks through my clouds,
lighting my soul in ivory and gold
all because of your sweet love Carolyn..

Mi Amor

Sing your sweet song
that the mighty whale
and even the dolphin heed...

My most sensual
and mysterious mermaid...

I kiss the sea mist
from your midnight hair,
that reflects shadows from the moon...

For within your spanish eyes
lies a most private universe...

I lay on your shores,
bathed in waves of fiery passion,
A wonderful world of green and blue...

All alone on our pisces island,
There is no other place i would rather be...

For now you are away,
so soon to bring your fire...

Until then mi amor,
since I cannot hold
you in my arms,

I hold you in my heart...
