Distant Fire

Embedded image from another site

I wanted to be
warmed by her fire
she came so close
then turned her face away.

The distant forest
of her brown beauty
became a lightness of being
I wrote her love poems
showing her the origins
of my inner fire
she turned away
leaving me with only
the ashes of her trees
and trembling leaves.

I promised her not castles
or prophesy of the future
to love now is what I needed
tomorrow may be too late
I said, "love me now"
"now love me."

Her fire is now so distant
and the forest she showed me
I love her in absentee
dreaming her while awake
she said she loved me
I who thought I was her master...

Mississippi Blues

Embedded image from another site

Perhaps the blues is a woman
the middle of a stormy sea
supernatural creature hard to understand
a strange and sometimes cruel lady...

I gave her the sand
from far away distant castles
to the shores of her distant land
of a blues drenched love..

Sought just a measure of comfort
searching for the clue
I paint these words
Mississippi blues for you...

Put a bullet in my brain
an earthquake beneath me
hop on a southbound train
leave me feeling guilty..

You the black rabbit
who stalked my dreams
a diffused membrane of reality
nothing was what it seemed..

It was fire
that made Prometheus a martyr
for Eve the apple
you my dear are just a pariah..

Touch

Embedded image from another site

I desire to
measure your skin
slowly with my fingers
to gently brush your arm
blending our colors together
white and black
to touch you
just to capture your attention
to hear you whisper
please, come closer...

I wish to share sleep with you
wrapping my dreams around you
taking us to a world
that requires no apologies
for a deep intimate bond
and uninhibited imagination
becomes more torture than virtue
as our past and future merges
choking our air
with trembling tears of joy...

I want you
memorizing you
deep in my blood
in my skeletal bones
within my skin
I see you in my eyes
when I gaze into the mirror
I dream you into reality
I am only half a soul
without you now...

I am now lost in the days
in thoughts of marriage
and we choose
our means of touch
putting geography behind us
removing the blinders
and embracing our touch
that is temporarily denied us...

Fading into you

Embedded image from another site

I need to feel your breath
upon my skin
to be the pillow on which you sleep
to hear your words of passion
you ask if I'm in love with you
I confess freely that I do
reaching and fading into you

If tonight your stars
doesn't shine on my bed
and all I see are passing cars
I'm still wrapped in the cocoon of you
tossing and turning in search of you
your footprints deep in my mind
slowly fading into you.

Clutching my pillow
sending you my love in the wind
fading into you like a shadow
seeking eyes that burn like embers
I watch the sunrise from my window
past the deep blue sea horizon
falling deeper in love
fading into you...

Falling

Embedded image from another site

Nikki, since the
times you've come
I have become the afternoon
that longs for your shadow
the moon
that longs for your stars...

You the lovely cloud
of perfume and laughter
that I have always sought
under a moon without an iris
with you my small still pool
filled with hope and purpose...

You have become
a hypnotic evanescent cloud
shading me
as I paint your name
it is
kissed by the sun...

Since I have met you
I am falling
and continue to fall

like a flock
of blind doves
into your cloud of mystery
that is you
my song in the wind...

In two dimensions

Embedded image from another site

I stare into you
in two dimensions
lovely picture
though a dimension
it does lack...

I am burning
to see you
in three dimensions

because

I wish to shower you
with crimson roses
chocolate passion treats

and to fall in love
with the three dimensional you..

Good night my love

Embedded image from another site

My love good night
I'm blinking and sinking
into my pillow
the silence deep
wishing to talk to you
before I sleep...

I'm drifting soon
to green meadows
shining full moon
shooting stars
where wishes go
may you dream of us
and have a sunny tomorrow..

May you have visions
of a far away land
may God watch over you
in the palm of his hand..

Night my love
good night...

Family Tree

Embedded image from another site

Primordial shadows
to me in dreams
faceless men and women
infinite lines...

Pathway to origins
what secrets they hold
whispers from the past
eyes that never close...

Are they trying to tell me
what star I come from
footsteps leading from the past
circling around me

Over far off vast ocean
lies Ireland and Wales
from where ancestors came
beautiful moonlit plains
of green grass and glens...

Tombstones stand apart
across the Atlantic
I stand of European descent
yet I'm uniquely American...

Perhaps they have known
all along
someday I will
find them...

Colliding Galaxies

Embedded image from another site

I become animal
with her
and animals
know no sin...

Dark and delicious
is she
knot of love
ever tightening...

We lay
watching shadows
on the wall
each others faces
she plays with my hair...

Erotic photons
we become
galaxies colliding
exploding into
a million pieces
crashing into one another..

Immortal Beloved

Embedded image from another site

My immortal beloved
dusk and thick as night
your dark skin and rolling curls
I have sought for centuries...

The flood from your candid form
flows like a river
my eternal beloved
I feel your past pain of mortality...

I sense the warmth and current
of your deep red blood
I hurl and skew my kisses
like crimson roses of fire...

Your hands touch me
light and cold
sending a shiver through me
we shine with the glory of Luna...

Gift me with your lunar smile
you irises, sullen and chaotic
they flash when they hear my sigh
soaring from deep within my gut...

Yes, you my shadow woman
bend your head of black hair
just slightly to one side
drink my blood, heart of hearts...

I will give you everything
and while I'n in agony
you, my love of all loves
draw sustenance from my burning blood...

Prayer of the soup kitchen

Embedded image from another site

Trumpet sounds
penniless dignity
black and white
pavement heart
impoverished souls...

Downtrodden parade
shameful faces
some look away
others wish you
a blessed day...

Help me Father
ease my hunger
a celebration
of family and friend
thank you Lord...

The soup kitchen
holy place
God help the hungry
who wake up
with the sun
until the day comes
when they can't...

God Particle

Awake in my bed
my mind spins for her,
a fundamental symmetry...

Her love far exists
for more than a fraction
of any atoms smashing together...

The Creator created her
from the most beautiful stardust
at the time of the Big Bang...

She is my Standard Model
the most elementary particle,
my quantum excitation...

She is the most remarkable
sensible result of existence,
She is my God Particle...

Tonight pain in my heart
moves to my eyes,
bringing a holocaust of tears...

My love come to me
let us be colliding galaxies,
in a universe of just us...
