Coming storm

Embedded image from another site

Tail lights fade slowly
as she drives away
the room is silent
her perfume lingers
accumulating on the horizon
like a storm cloud...

Her whispers remain
as a distant mutter
dampness on the sheets
I glow in the halo of her pleasure

Is this sweet love?
rain is falling
clouds roll winds of change
sky turns blue and black...

Caught in loves ambrosial rain
storm, I know you are coming...

The Raven

Embedded image from another site

Dark skinned woman
skin dark as night
you need not worry
or have reason to fret
only you sense my pain
that everything must eventually die.

Let us gather up
become as new stars bathed in abyss
in celestial constellations
even though you come and go
like a comet traversing my sky
drawn to the vapor trail of your shadow
the image of our passion in your mind.

It has been two days since I've touched you
still I tremble so
when kissing the fertile steppe of your brown body
that melts in my mouth like chocolate
my genie in a bottle with three wishes
telling me to look into my heart
Aladdin's lamp is there
from over the hills and far away...

Come again tomorrow

Embedded image from another site

Porsche is a lovely one
I know her well
We made love under the tall oak
where the evening shadows fell.

Hiding from the neighbors
so they would not tell
we would stay there
until the military rang the evening bell.

Porsche, bring an end to my sorrow
lay with me among Springtime flowers
say you will come again tomorrow
help me fill these empty hours.

Porsche, a lovely nubian princess
I love her true
a comforting mercy through and through
She comes and goes what can I do.

Help me find wind to fill these sails
let love conquer all by and by
We'll sail upon these waters
until the oceans all run dry...

Awake Dreaming

Embedded image from another site

As I was sleeping
I dreamed of you
when I awoke
I was still dreaming
imagination unbound
feeling I need you
thinking I love you
dreaming I wanted you...

Thief

Embedded image from another site

I can recall
the hours and days
you stole time from me

You said forget the past
with kisses that erased my memory
you becoming my future

In the park
where the ground
was dressed in fallen hues

Fashioning a blanket
out of the calico leaves
to give their death purpose

Then in September
in time for the harvest
we became thieves

You stole my heart
much like bees
steal honey from flowers

Just before a lover
plucks them from the ground...

Poetry Short

Embedded image from another site

Redemption
perhaps something
one must fight for
some lose
some stray
some regain it.

But sometimes
friends make mistakes
often grievous ones,

Ones that cry out
for us to stay
and prove we are true friends...

A revealing truth

Embedded image from another site

Toss then turn
I put my ear to my pillow
attentive to me
like a sea serenade
my conch to the ocean

I hear my heart beat
but never the same
I think I know
who is causing
it to beat this way

But not quite sure
why it might be

If I began
to describe it
following my most
intense obsession mercilessly
with phantoms of words

I would arrive
with shiver of surprise
a revealing truth
for you to hear

You see, all the time
I pretended to love you
I didn't realize
I was already in love
with you all the while...

We are stardust

Embedded image from another site

Once long ago
another place another existence
we were only stardust
swirling in some pastel nebula
the beginning of love
I with you and you with me
unaware of the future
together without distracting society...

Formed in the briefest space and time
two primordial souls connecting
void physical form or speech
to impede predestined ordained love
nothing to weigh upon metaphysical shoulders
so conceived or ever unjust
so simple and uncomplicated
when we were only stardust...

I love every atom of your DNA
every molecule in your body
the universe inside of you
let us love and honor the stars
shimmer and sparkle in the cosmic night
together we spin out of nothingness
born to further the shining light...

Besos

Embedded image from another site

Give to me your purest hands
upon each translucent finger
I shall lay a trembling kiss
setting upon each of them a precious gem...

Then tenderly I will kiss
your dreamy eyes where hope does linger
my mouth on your mouth we will whisper
a poem from an Ovid erotica...

Once upon your loving neck
more kisses spark a necklace whose embers
will burn down on your enticing dark shoulders...

Later tonight when you are undressing
you will unclasp it
and it will fall down like soft rain
to scorch the lilies of your breasts!

Spartacus Speaks

I see much from this height
grape leaves wave like nailed palms
and my toes are sprouting flies.

Here on the road from Rome to Capua
rock propped crosses tilt
every hundred feet.

My comrades and I sag on their arms
sun-blackened sacks
dragging a foul southern wind.

Crassus and his legions
marched down these cobbles months ago
leaving trash at the roadside, and us.

Now only merchants pass in groaning carts,
no longer pinching their noses
with hands over bellies, they snore

Again this wind, the sky
wipes it's greasy face
my tatters flap like rotten flags.

And I almost hear the shouts
of thousands, thunder
as my hands shred on the nails.

I drop face first in Roman dust.

Do not misunderstand
I have no regrets, a gladiator's days
are whittled on a stick.

But dreams, they rattle in the skull
like dice, even now they return.

Bony old men shaking the gate
no where else to spend the night.

Cheers

Embedded image from another site

To the sound of your voice
a soothing melody
to the 206 bones in your body
the warmth of your breath against my chest.

To the oaks with drowsy Spanish Moss
the sound of the ocean as it roars
to the seagulls that hover overhead for a treat.

The smell of bacon and waffles in the morning
to the homeless people pushing a basket
birds chirping on a telephone wire.

May each be blessed on this earth
until a great purpose is revealed
until each of us admits

I was confused and lost
and still I loved
and forgot what I forgot about glory

as I seek your light
my sweet Lord...

The Bacchus Garden

Embedded image from another site

Your tender body
is a fertile garden
where flowers bloom
beautiful and animated.

Sanctuary of desire
in their domain
pursuing eternal splendor
splashed in golden water..

Paradise under captive sky
scent of Magnolia in country
my hands touch in the instant
lips upon your lovely petals.

This morning in your garden
with you in sighing sanctuary
on our hands love expired
overgrown with Springtime flowers...
