Friday Again

And it's great to be alive.

Think of all the casualties and the orphaned kids due to the fuelled proxy war.

Then it's not such a great day at all.

Thank heaven for small mercies.
It truly is for some of us but when one considers the deaths in Syria and Turkey that are not man made in comparison to the ones in the Ukraine war that are,one day is the same as another unfortunately.sad flower
Only it's not a proxy war, it's a war of national liberation for the Ukrainians.
Can't you both be right?

For Ukraine it's a war of national liberation, has certainly become this as Putin crossed the line last February to the point of alienating pretty much everybody in Ukraine, but at the same time it's in our interest that Ukraine wins no less than it is the interest of Russia for Ukraine to lose.
Luke we beat that drum everyday, all day for our kids.
Sad when kids are so easily misled/fooled.

Moscow is trying to end the conflict in Ukraine, which was started by Kiev following the 2014 US-backed coup.
Putins exact words:
“Let me repeat: we did not start the military activities, we are trying to end them.
For eight years, that war continued – a war to exterminate people who live there, who feel themselves related by blood to Russia and Russian culture. How long were we supposed to tolerate that?”

If any of you had family or friends living there they would confirm every single fact.
MSM is leading fools around by the nose.
In early 2011 the USA/CIA failed to topple its elected president, but the subsequent years of increasingly cruel sanctions – all in the name of ‘helping the Syrian people’ – have succeeded in rendering life miserable and near impossible, with most unable to afford to properly feed their families, much less heat their homes. Why do you think the Syrians hate the US with a passion?

Now, in a time of crisis, the Syrian people cannot even receive donations or emergency support from abroad. One supporter set up a GoFundMe campaign, only to have it taken down due to the sanctions. Type the word “Ukraine” into the search field on PayPal or GoFundMe and you’ll see countless appeals for sending money to Ukraine. But for Syrians, Western platforms like these are off-limits, and have been for years.

Please start thinking for yourselves.
wave Luke.
Happy Friday to you.

I wipe away my sorrow when I see victims of both earthquakes, the destruction from the war, the harsh treatment people feel because it is perceive they have the wrong skin colour, ect, ect, ect.

I still give thanks that my surrounding is peaceful, calm, and manageable. daisy

Yes you are right. After the disaster struck.
You are an intelligent person, and I guess you know that since the Syrian civil war, the United Kingdom has supported the Syrian opposition. The United Kingdom closed its embassy in Syria in 2011, and the Embassy of Syria, London was closed the following year.
What I'm trying to say is that why can't any country that is important to the US/UK just simply govern themselves the way THEY think fit?
Why do most countries that have commodities that the 'west' need/want simply have to change traditions, laws, governments to accommodate these war mongers?
Why must they control that country right down to grass roots level?
Are there still people that believe we are not moving to a one world state where EVERYONE will abide by the rules Brussels lay down?
Tnx for the comment, appreciated. Totally agreed that we have much to be thankful for. Even one eye is better than no eye.

Just wanted to add I don't approve or condone how these leaders are governing their countries. I just ask myself why is 'aid' so easily handed out (not in disaster times) with the left hand and the right hand is ready to take. That's not aid imo.
Could the horrors of the earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria on Monday together with the combined humanitarian efforts be the sticking plaster needed to destabilise the diplomatic rifts? Yes it’s complicated. but surely not impossible.

Brussels controls the E.U and NATO has the military power but can they contain the great power surge now taking place.

Sad World that's for sure.sad flower
The concerns you raise is valid. I'm not sure what you mean by 'DESTABILIZE the diplomatic rifts'. Many people are not aware of the power that Brussels wields not only over the EU but over africa too.
NATO, USA and It's allies are one entity in my humble opinion. That it's a sad state of affairs is mildly put.
Yes, ignore my points.
By the way if I was making a fool of myself why would you ask me to stop?
Snow, you know- what exactly- Usa is backing in Syria?
I don't, but I'd like to learn.
Why do USA back the "seperatists" in Syria but not in Dunbas?
This is not clear to me.
Sorry, I guess it's Donbas with an o
