Supermoon...
Oh, say it ain't so. TWO full moons in the same month! That rarely happens and this month is special. Starting tonight, the moon will be closest to earth making it appear brighter in the night time sky. If you follow events, people usually get irritated during a full moon. Police get record numbers of calls and emergency rooms are usually very busy.So hang tight and watch the evening sky... it's a supermoon!

These photo's were taken from south eastern Aussie Rob, i'm sure their are some taken from somewhere in the US as well..
There's also photos of this thing during the day time from the US and Aussie, this thing is bottom side of the sun in the US and on 1 side of the sun in Aussie..
This is the right time to go camping, out in the wilderness, with the moon as light, having some good love making.
Ooooops, I digress.
Came home from KFC lunch to find millions of
Dollars of cops & investigators on the scene...
Word is ...perps not familiar with Larry [ landlord
And not wanted on property...fired a gunshot or 2
For effect-- no one injured...
But once again, I cannot enter the property while
Their lethargic investigation continues...

The first post was taken 3-15 a.m. I was facing west in the early morning of the same day.
Those two were taken soon after the moon rose in the east, so I was facing the east not west...

Great pictures...
I am thinking of getting back into photography again...
I used to enjoy it years ago..
Moon photos taken handheld no tripod. Olympus sold most of its camera production off to company called OM.
You might find there are quite a few second hand cameras and lens on your eBay, I looked for past member here and saw a few.
Myself I purchased a Mk-ii on eBay and am happy with the camera. Takes quite lot to set up the camera for photographing birds and wild life, I use the same all the time including my moon shots, I've face detection = eye detection, only use auto focus. Check out Robin Wong cheat sheets...I set my settings in concrete only change ISO using the camera MySets. I often post photos on here in Australia Forums My Picture Took thread
following are three photos i took tonight as the moon rose over the hills.
Your pictures of wildlife are quite good too.
I will look online for used ones...new ones are pretty expensive.
There is a doe and her fawn who graze along the lake behind me. I want to take pictures of them...all I have is the camera on my phone.
It has been many years since I dabbled in photography..in the time of film....but I did enjoy it.
If you are looking to take photos of wildlife that are not to far away, the "Olympus M.ZUIKO Digital, 40-150mm 1:28 (72m)" is weather resist lens (quite old model) but good, the 40-150mm is able to accept x2 or 1.4 teleconverter also the 300mm does to, which is well worth getting and i find the UV filters I use good Kenko ZX ll, UVL41 72mm filter are good for the 40-150mm.
Moon photos, distant shots the 300mm but it is bit heavy. I use shoulder strap/sling to carry around.
The Mk-iii camera has Stary Sky function that is pretty good with 17mm lens.
The 300mm lens is capable of taking macro type close ups as is the 40-150. Chinese sell pretty affordable macro filters to fit. Aliexpress I buy those on but your eBay probably have.
enjoy
Saturday morning, western view around 10 we could see a little in daylight.
We had rain and a cloud cover due the the hurricane 350 miles (560km) away, so I didn't get a chance to see the blue moon.
When my daughter was born she was a preemie and had to stay in the hospital for 3 weeks. She was the only baby in the nursery. The nurses said wait till next week we have a full moon it will be packed.
Sure enough there were 12 babies in the nursery the following week.
The moon affects tides, so the the storm surge was probably 10 feet above an already high tide.
