The supernatural V's judgement day...

Would I be right in saying a Christian can't believe in both?
in my books it has to be one or the other, likeso with Reincarnation, Christians don't or shouldn't scold
One soul, that's it... simple as, end of.

If you are not a believer of either, no need for you to reply ...
just genuine replies only especially from those who believe in both.

Because I'm such a strong believer in the supernatural, as a Christian I have to say I do not believe in this judgment day we have all been told about hole

Boy am I glad, Mr Worthy is not around giggle

What I honestly can say is that I'd like to be a good Christian but I guess I'm just a wannabe. I do firmly believe that there is a good merciful God and that the Bible was written as a help guide for us to live a decent life. Guess I'm just a weak sinner that will always be a wannabe. moping
laugh
I am Christian and no I don’t believe in reincarnation. I believe in Heaven, Hell and purgatory, that is what I base my actions on. If there is reincarnation what is the point, it would be like a caterpillar going into a cocoon and coming out as a caterpillar. wave
laugh laugh Luke, I like your reply thumbs up
at least you're honest.

As for why it was written, no comment ...
I'll tell you when I know... if ever conversing

wave
Tah for that Hoo wave
and as a Christian, what are your thoughts on the supernatural?
Marian apparitions are very believable to me. I have had miracles happen by praying to Mary and this video hosted by Ricardo Montalban is very interesting.

teddybear
I'll watch your video again and I don't disagree with you regarding apparitions and miracles along with answered prayers handshake
But to get to the point, do you believe our passed loved ones watch over us guiding us, directing us from above .. communicating with us in the mysterious ways, some do angel

Our beloved Stringman once told me sad flower
when we die we're dormant till judgement day, if that is truth then it is impossible the supernatural does not include our passed loved ones... reasons why I say a true Christian " whatever that might mean" simply cannot believe in both conversing
I believe that they might need our prayers, if they are in purgatory and you pray for them it is the same as visiting someone in prison. I pray for those who died and had a relative who left me their car. I told someone I would have 30 Gregorian masses said for their soul. I forgot and then about a week later the car for no apparent reason would start honking at 11pm at night and this happened 2 nights in a row, then the next day I ordered the masses and it stopped. I have heard people in purgatory can reach out for prayers and this is what I believed happened.
Hebrews 9:27 says it is appointed unto man [all people] to die once and after
that to face judgment. So, the Bible doesn't teach that reincarnation is a thing.
I am not sure what a "V's" is, so I don't know if I should reply or not. I am guessing it a reference to a 1980s US TV show called V, but I could be wrong.

About reincarnation, Gods and things supernatural understanding the glory of the fine structure constant (aka 1/137) makes all of that irrelevant.
Howdy Hoo wave
skipped the first part of your link, like you said... interesting.

I wasn't aware Lucia's cousins died so young, but it never said why and what happened to them?
as for the date Pope John Paul was shot, that's new to me also, what a coincidence roll eyes

Not too long ago I had an experience of a creaking door very similar to your honking so sometimes the unbelievable can be the most believable to me.

I'm on the fence about just what purgatory is but I can't see God leaving us dangling relying and depending on thoughts and prayers from others... JMO

Because you believe your relation reached you from a far, does that mean you do not believe souls remain dormant until judgement day?
Indeed Phat, I'm sure you're right handshake

Some views opinions and beliefs we can be on the fence about, but then there are others where no fence is needed, we either believe or we don't.

I only used reincarnation as an example, that's all, simply because it can only be a disbelief for a Christian.
JMO of course wine
And what a great programme it was...
I was so glued into it at the time popcorn

"V's" as in versus wave
one against the other.
Yes the first season of V was great. Then a new script writer and suddenly the aliens could magically pass as human well enough to mate. I kind of lost interest after that, just like the new shows where Lois Lane bears Kal El's (Superman) children. I guess it is a good thing they never kicked or even tried to fly while inside her. I can understand no heat vision until the eyes first open, but wow I would not want to be in the birthing room or the one to administer the first slap. We won;t even discuss the Man of Steel, woman of soft Kleenex problem, or millions of invulnerable super strong sperm able to fly or go anywhere or rip through anything in search of a (anyone's) fertile egg to land on. LoL
The first season of The Colony (much more recent) is also durn good and remained so up to about the time the guys were climbing the wall and some went splat and left red stains on the wall. After that was the Hollywood writer's strike and the story line just wandered around like a totally SF drunk before the plug was finally pulled.
During Her fourth apparition, on August 19, 1917, Our Lady said something extraordinary:

“Pray! Pray a great deal and make sacrifices for sinners, for many souls go to hell because they have no one to pray and make sacrifices for them.”

—————

Yes I don’t know where it says anywhere people stay dormant, Also during what is called” the illumination” Moses and Elija appeared with Jesus, so I really don’t know where he got that idea.

There is a famous exorcist who said John Paul 2nd appeared in many exorcisms he performed.

Remember Jesus said to pray consistently so do not discount the power of prayer thumbs up
Galatians 5:19-21
Now the works of the flesh are evident: s*xual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Yes all that must be repented of, and just like Mary Magdalene you can be redeemed by the blood of Christ. If for example you are hung up on something like pornography pray to Jesus and imagine his feet on the cross covered in blood and you are there looking at them, because that is where Mary Magdalene was when Jesus was crucified. Someone who was addicted to pornography did this every day and it took him a year to quit his addiction. If you want to go to heaven you must fight now because after you die it may be too late!
Hope you're not implying I'm addicted to porn roll eyes

How do you know Mary Magdalene was redeemed and not make Immaculate instead dunno
She is a saint so don’t know what you mean really.
I have my own daft religion & beliefs so what I mean, doesn't matter really...
but anyways thanks for the comments wine
and to Jen & Ken also.

Since no-one is answering my question, time to put this one to sleep sleep

Well I know someone who is a devout Catholic and she believes in reincarnation, so I wouldn’t say she in not a Christian because she seems to be a real believer except for that, so we , me and you can’t disqualify someone because we could have some beliefs that are incorrect as well.
T.G. your done with the pans! laugh More theology? Everyone has their beliefs - right or indiff.

About souls, Jesus told his disciples, “I am going there to prepare a place for you … that you also may be where I am” (John 14:2-3). No one is perfect – that’s why we were put here to learn or fall from grace in judgement by the Lord in contributing to humanity of earthly nature? Don’t believe in judgement day.

Supernatural or beyond natural is a gift, if we are born with - that’s beyond explanation. How it’s measured in our lives is unknown. Like a sixth sense to human nature. No right or wrong. Perception? The soul? Godly figures? One’s beliefs?

It’s unexplainable. One example: starting my vehicle and all the dash lights went on ‘alarm’ going off and just tried to start it! Already unlocked in the garage? Looked, nothing wrong with it? Battery volts were up – checked with a volt meter. The alarm and lights quit when hitting the fob again, so I tried starting and no issue. Deaf, but no issue. Drove to the end of my block to a busy road and a bad accident had taken place minutes earlier. Coincidence? Things that cannot be explained. There’s your sign …

Fair enough reply, which I like thumbs up
but I can never be disqualified when I've never claimed to be qualified lol
In my books one soul one body and then there are others who insist some bods have no souls at all... each to their own I suppose conversing

I've read some of your comments and posts, thought you may of had an opinion on this socalled judgement day... but no harm that you don't, cheers Hoo wine
Are we talking judgement day on the individual level, or the thought of some 'God unleashing his wrath on the earth' kind of judgement day? confused laugh

Coz the answer depends on witch laugh
*which

doh laugh
No pans, but I'm stirring the pot just the same lol
Hello Mr Dat, what took you so long wave

What's with men and their misbehaved cars ...
could it be a sign from above male drivers shouldn't be allowed on the road laugh

Seriously though, thanks for sharing your experience, my kind of hearing.
Reminds me of the time a bird shat on my car to prevent me from running over an elderly woman in a wheel chair.

I agree, it is unexplainable but it doesn't stop me from wanting to know ...
If I'm understanding you correctly, you're telling me NOT to believe in judgement day confused
If so? then why?

I ask too many questions so pls feel to ignore me if you'd rather ..
in other words, your rudeness shall be forgiven wink
Well we're not talking politics so I'm sure you're on the wrong blog conversing

Would you like me to give you a little shove in the right direction as to witch which one you should be on roll eyes

laugh

wave
No. I'm fine wave
In that case back to your original question then ...
which makes absolutely no sense to me unless we go before God before his wrath is felt, in other words, us dead escape the feared judgment day.

Hope that makes sense to you conversing
Not really laugh

I think if you live a good life you don't have too much to worry about thumbs up

It's not about being perfect. God recognizes our imperfections. But if you're genuinely giving a good go of things, then I think you'll be alright (both now and post death)
Turn Away from Astrology and the Occult.

Introduction: Astrology, the occult, and sorcery, any attempt to try to see into the future, using tealeaves, pendulums, or Tarot cards, is wrong.
As we go through life, most of us become aware that there is a spiritual dimension to life, and many of us seek to understand (or experience) it. In our search, we often turn from organized religion and look for alternatives. That described my life for many years until I had an encounter with God, and I realized I had been on the wrong path.

If you too are a searcher, I think that’s wonderful. But i also want to caution you that you may come across some spiritual ideas that can actually harm your relationship with God. Seek to know the truth, but keep your eyes open. Be wise.

God tells us to turn to him and renounce the occult
Many people, including Christians, think it’s harmless to look at astrological charts or engage in various forms of spiritism. They think it is fun or entertaining.

Others look to astrology, divination, and mediums for guidance, not just entertainment.

But God clearly warns against such practices in many Bible verses. Some reasons the Scriptures warn against engaging in any form of the occult:

We are opening ourselves up to spirits other than God’s.
We are not looking to God for guidance, but to the occult.
We are turning away from true faith in Jesus.
We are disobeying God’s word, the Bible.
Yeah, stirring the pot with a pan. Nice touch.
I think we are being judged daily in our interactions (individually) – you live your best life, if that isn’t good enough for the almighty by what one has done then TELL ME! Then it would be called SURPRISE DAY for not knowing what to go by aside from the sins. Even if it means woman in a minvan (at accident) should put their makeup on before driving into men. Second sign for you. Yup, was it tweety bird that stopped you? Must’ve meant you ran over the cat, then … laugh

Otherwise, I’m good. Just inciting rudeness and all … here … aren’t you. laugh

Jenny sez it all – anything more? conversing thumbs up

nite all sleep
Being good, doing good makes you a good person, not a Christian

For by Grace you have been saved, it is Not of yourself it is the Gift of God less any man should boast.
I'm not looking for a know how as to how one can can make it to heaven ...
and right as you may be, is it not more about us recognising our own imperfections, to change , rather then leaving it to God to accept, after all he makes the rules and when under my roof roll eyes professor lol

But I get you're drift and I like what you're saying ...
to the hopeful in being overlooked wine
Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, ...
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.
Of course yes we should always strive to recognize our own imperfections and seek to overcome them. What I said wasn't meant to imply that we simply get a free pass. Far from it! I simply mean God will always recognize when we are genuinely striving to do good
Thank you for that Jenny and for sharing your knowledge handshake
I'm going to bed here but I'll reply proper tomorrow but for now, where I may question a lot I never doubt my belief in God, but his truth .. is another matter.

I also believe in the supernatural, for me its impossible not to ..
which comes from experience more so than belief and I think there is a difference but anyways for now, time to hit the sack but thanks for giving me something to ponder about.
Good people V's good Christians.

Night Jenny, keep safe hug
I have dealt with the supernatural myself. Never again!
Sleep well .
wave Jenny
when it comes to the Bible we have different views but I see the strength of its beliefs have made you the strong woman you are hug

My beliefs in the supernatural is what strengthens my belief in God and the after life, so fret not about me straying, I would add more but a particular person is giving me a bloody headache so I'm going to have to cut this one short..... MEN frustrated doh

As far as judgement, most people will go to hell, anyone who makes it to purgatory will get into heaven after suffering then the reality holy people will go straight to heaven. it happens instantly after you die.
That's your opinion Hoo, but what's with the suffering though.

Because you mentioned it I looked up Pope Pauls assassination attempt, it was a nun that saved his life and she became inflicted with her share of suffering too.

I think most people who do not suffer will go to hell and them that do, will go straight to heaven. confused
