False accusations...
I'm the subject of false accusations on CS... again. Not the first time and my accuser has been the same person who has done this several times over the years.Probably, two weeks ago, the profile of a regular blogger has gone quiet and the suspicion arose that I'm responsible for reporting this member.
Sorry to burst your bubble... FOR THE RECORD, I had nothing to do with it.
Around the same time his profile status changed, I noticed the disappearance of another member. I came home from meetings to see butcher had last commented on one of my blogs. When I clicked the blog to read his comment, it wasn't there. His profile appears to be closed.
So mysteriously 2 members have gone silent.
My suggestion to the person who is accusing me, is to stop your hate and paranoia. Seek professional help for your condition.
It's expected this blog will fuel another round of hate blogs in retaliation... so be it.

I think the initial report was on the basis of the aforementioned blogger calling other members 'wankers' repeatedly, but given Butcher disappeared at the same time and both profiles have gone dark, I wonder if there might be more behind their disappearance than punitive measures for one of them name-calling.
Perhaps the initial complaint raised the site's awareness, but with an election looming (remember our political blog ban post J6?)and CS trying to fatten their coffers with their 'premium' jiggery pokery, maybe some of the stuff going on wasn't a good look/legally kosher for the site owners to allow.
Ultimately, if a certain person hadn't taken to calling people a wanker quite so frequently that it looked like he was signing his name at the end of every comment, that certain person might still be here merrily poking his own personal bear (who may, or may not have been self-pleasuring.)
I've had the finger pointed at me on occasions and also kicked to the kerb for standing up against antagonists.
I've noticed almost a dozen people missing in action from both here and in the Forums so I guess the C.S broom is in action cleaning up the site.
I've stopped taking offence at other people's remarks and become more selective ,for want of a better word, as to whom I respond to and when to click the "sign out" button.
morefor making the effort on several occasions.Hmmph.

Come to think of it, whatsername, TenofCups may have had her last blog go kapoof! and I haven't seen her since. It was funny watching her desperately trying to pick a fight and no one biting, so I don't know why that one disappeared. Maybe she deleted it herself in embarrassment.
I'm thinking Spitz is likely right, though - CS is spring cleaning.
Butcher last posted on the 20th February, but no news on whether he's hidden his profile, or if it's been deleted.
And it's just occurred to me that I think all three were vocal Russophiles. Perhaps that might be a potential legal sticky wicket for the site owners in the same way that J6 talk was at the time.
Sometimes ignoring them does not work. They don't understand "speak when you are spoken to."
Happy Sunday to all CS'er.

Those kind of people want a reaction so don't give them what they want
You & many others know how decent & respectful you are
Personally, I like to watch when you're coaxing the best out of someone, even if I want to slap that person with a wet kipper.
Not sure who you're talking about but did notice Luke quoted in the comments, and had already noticed he had gone off-air, Hope he's taking a break, either by choice or a short CS jail break, and hope to see him back again.. I've said before and will say again I don't go a bundle on the political blogs FROM ANYONE because of the aggressive reactions they cause but I've always read and enjoyed his other blogs and his comments over the years. To quote another blog, you get back what you put in, with Luke. If you are aggressive, expect aggression, but the same goes with debate, with considered opinions, with humour. He's an honest straightforward WYSIWYG* and hell they are rare here and to be valued, not poked at or fought with.
Also don't know who has accused you of ridding the blogs of members but hey, you've blogged quite often about reporting fake profiles and them vanishing so - if you want a reputation of policing CS, you have to expect you will be accused when others vanish? You are obviously in with the mods. but I do believe you stick to fake profiles rather than frequent bloggers.
I HAVE reported a few blogs which I thought crossed even the CS line, where almost anything goes. Sometimes the blog vanished, usually not, although a couple of the more offensive comments might. Once or twice the profile vanished, at least for a short time, but in those cases there would have been many complaints. I'd like to think so, anyway - the thought one person could obliterate another's established longterm profile on one complaint is not a comfortable one.
*Everyone knows this marketing term, right? But in case - What You See Is What You Get

Historically, I've avoided making comments on religious and political blogs, especially ones that are extreme or differ with my views. I got along with Luke, we could disagree on a topic without having an argument.
I noticed his disappearance and after hearing it from others did I realize it must have been a decision from administration and not closed for vacation.
I miss him. I also miss Butcher.
As far as reporting fake profiles goes, here is an example: 4 new profiles appear within minutes of each other. They usually have different photos, often the same age and sometimes the same location. When you read each profile and see they are identical with opening line, more about me, more about my match, occupation, it's obvious these profiles are created to scam someone.
Who checks this?
It's beyond the means of CS to monitor such fraudulent activity, yet it's a
whackingtalking point for one member who calls me the self appointed sheriff, done in a negative way. I'm knocking out more than 1,000 fraudulent profiles a year and ONE GUY has nothing better to do but complain about it.Did you appoint yourself sheriff?
I haven't read any others but as accusing people do they probably put it on several blogs.
They don't want anyone to miss any misconstrued information.
Since it's the same person going around CS saying these things, I'd say the position of sheriff is already filled... not that one was needed.
So why was he banned then? Sorry I have been out of the loop. Haven’t been following this site closely. Did the mods delete the blog that he posted the offensive comments on? If not then I would like to be directed there. I can’t imagine Luke being a bully. He was always super sweet and funny.

I recall several things happened over the course of a year or so. Some blogs were locked, or deleted by him. At least one was removed by the site administrator/moderator that he remarked on another blog.
It was not a matter of liking or disliking the individual concerned, it was about the vicious behaviour that member was subject to.
In my opinion, strictly mine only, I do not think this blog was necessary, At the end of the day where is the evidence, based on what, a greyed out profile or a user not posting, sending messages only? Many users who get into conflicts, disagreements or arguments here called each other names, follow each other around. That is to be expected.
We all know people get banned or suspended for one reason and another.
If one starts off with a provocation then expect a reaction.
Keep on zapping the scammers. But could you stomach reporting sites where there is really bad stuff involved causing pain and harm to humans? Because those kinds of sites do get shut down only for more to appear, it’s a job that many simply would not do. So I give those involved a lot of credit in reporting such horrendous abuse.
Come on really, it’s getting a bit laughable and slightly ridiculous now.

Generally you write more interesting posts.
If a person gets ejected, for whatever reason, there isn't notification to the other members.
Some have returned with new profiles and life goes on...

Enquiring minds That also means having a pop at people? Take advantage of their inability to post and refute any accusations?
Users can always report profiles to CS, it’s that simple.

So word does get around!

I remember it well

Back in the days of thriving blogs and forums, one might be suspended for a few days, maybe a week. These days it seems people get suspended for weeks, or months with no idea when they'll be able to post again.
If CS doesn't notify the badass sinner, they sure as dammit don't notify anyone else.
There are clues, however:
*A blog goes kapoof! and one, or more regular posters go quiet for a few weeks
*A suspended member PM's a friend and tells them, the friend tells everyone else
*If someone has PM'd in the past, or you 'favourite' them, or they're on your 'who's viewed me?' record, you might see their profile as normal, 'profile hidden' , or 'profile deleted'.
The person who reported Luke PM'd him to say they had reported him for calling everyone and anyone a wanker, or some such thing relating to hostility. That person tells me Luke's profile was active after he was suspended, but about 10 days later Luke hid his profile.
I'm sure a few days, or a week would have sufficed to get the point across about reserving calling people a wanker for high days and holidays, but it appears that's not the way CS rolls anymore.
The source of my information has never PM'd with Butcher and neither have I, therefore neither of us know whether his profile is hidden, or deleted.
If a profile is deleted, you can't tell if that member's exit was voluntary, or not. If it was voluntary, they can reactivate their profile at any time. If it was deleted by CS and they don't create a new profile to get around the ban, they may be able to reactivate their original profile in about 6 months.
Does that help?
I'd get an unfair reputation. I'm trying to stay neutral.
Already he's the sheriff/best blogger/critic/blog monitor reads my blogs.
Sadly, he is unable to control his hate for me, but he's really not stupid and since his comments lash out only a few times a month, he's under the radar of administration.
Would the site moderator delete his profile? Doubtful.

2. It's handy to know what people are getting suspended/banned for because the site owner mood appears to vary over time, i.e. over the J6 period and possibly as we move towards the US elections.
