Welcome to Gippsland
I grew up in the country, and cannot imagine living in a city. I may one day, with my career, be forced to live in the city, but my heart will always remain in the country.I believe in exploring the world around you, enjoying what you have, because who knows what will be there tomorrow?!?
We all remember places in our childhood that have been replaced with housing , with commercial sites... and we accept that it's inevitable.
But occasionally I need to get away from the town I live in, to explore the world around me. For me, these photos simply show you part of what is my backyard. This is Walhalla. The photos I am sharing are from a day I took my daughter on a driving lesson. I chose this location because the road there is windy and therefore dangerous. What better way to learn to drive!?!
But the world is a big place, this is only a small part of it... I am not sure I will ever be able to explore enough, but I am willing to try.

A look down from the hills I live by. Thank you to a friend who took this wonderful pictures.
I am sure you would love the local area here, Welela.
Oh and how safe is that for the residents?
Why would they have stopped living in them? I assume it's the same as us having underground residences in Central Australia... to beat the heat?
Some local caves are big enough to house a full orchestra & the audience.
I had a friend ask me to come to Spain with him last year, I considered it...but he had just broken up with another friend and I didn't want to get involved in the rift between them.
I can help here... a boar is a wild pig. We have them in Australia too.
I will see such as kind of the scenery next week
Thats some great photos great to see new places.
Abagail, was their a movie made in your town. It seems familiar.
Not that I am aware of for the local town.
You certainly live an area with wide open spaces? I know very little about Portugal. hmmmm... Between yourself and Z, I am learning about places I never considered visiting.
Your black and white dog reminds me of one I had when I was growing up. This will sound entirely strange, but I felt as though I should reach out and pat her.
There was a fort in the local playground, with a ladder angled on the side of it. I would pretend I was stuck up there and this dog would climb up to get me, when she got there, she was shaking ... but she always came for me.
