you must see them on Cape Town Station. Larger than cats; running over the tracks between the platforms in broad daylight.

Many years ago, while living in your hometown for a while I was fishing at the 'dollosse' and such a rat tried to drag my box of pilchards away. I put a large knife in his body and he ran off with it. Lost a very good knife that day.

I should rather have allowed him to take off with my fish bait for I caught nothing in any way.

There is an island off the east coast of Africa called Zanziba, the rats on this island can grow up to one metre in length as shown in the first picture of LukeOn's post. These rats were probably introduced by the British and as they had no natural enemy they began to take over and grow to huge sizes..... professor
