More Important for some?
For me finding a friend or someone that could be more than just a friend on line is not very important.I think in every city, town or village there are more than enough suitable friends/mates/partners but for some or other reason some of us seem to yearn for that exotic/unknown friend/mate or partner.
Don't you go out or meet different people at work,shop,club or even the movies? South Africans are known to be friendly, not to be grumpy in public with a kind word or good advice to anyone that needs it.
Like who cares if prince Charles is in line at the soda store, he is just a guy like all of us.
So why is it that CS has thousands of members, maybe because of the games?
Please correct me if I'm wrong but apart from the scammers, could it be that most people are searching to find the ultimate?
What is the 'ultimate' that you are searching for, wealth?Not me, cos here in my country are many beautiful women also wanting a friend. Of course I have my special friends already.

Impossible? No I think not. Altho I tend to agree with you on the arrogant part. Many 'men' are trying to make a living in the Middle East but are returning home on a regular basis. The 'intimidating' part I dont agree with, unless they know you so well to feel intimidated by you. I lived in Jo'burg, its a different life-style to the coast where the majority are more laid back. Don't give up.

What on earth can be the reason for not wanting to meet someone locally?
It's nice to be able to get online and interact with someone... you don't need to brush your hair, dress to impress... You can simply interact.

I think the reason many gravitate towards blogging is because they are more interested in gaining friendships and passing time than finding that certain someone...if it does happen then it is a bonus...I enjoy peoples' opinions and the discussions here on the blogs...made some good friends...
After a month or so on this site... I met someone here from Spain that I liked very much but he turned out to be the type who liked several other ladies. It was a good thing I found out before I actually went to Spain. Then I met another man online I liked who lived in Sweden but the story about his deceased wife disturbed me. He was too loud for me as well. During this mishap I nearly lost hope.
I left this site for a little while. When I came back I met a man who I could have liked but realized that we really had nothing to talk about. That is not a good sign. I then decided to give up searching for "love".
Just recently I was going to delete my account when... I got this message from an interesting screen name. I became curious and read his profile. I wrote to him and told him I was going to leave the site and that I hope he found someone who will make his heart feel like sunshine. He asked me not to leave in such a nice way and so... I stayed.
Here I am thankful he asked me to stay because the more I get to know him the more I realize I really like him.. a lot. It is too soon to tell really but I shall live in the moment and give hope another try.
