What is worth fighting for?
A situation where your life has reached a point and can truly say: I have been there, done all that, now I pick my own battles and I stick my nose only to what is worth my seconds left in life.Recognizing the limitations of time you have in your hand, simply because you have so many things you want to do and accomplish before you go, now what are to you worth fighting for?
Have any ideas?
Me? I want to eradicate ignorance and poverty. I want to give light to those who's left in the dark. I know it is easier said than done but look at Bill Gates, when I first read about him 30 years ago, he was just as humble as anyone, now 48 billion asset later and half of that is directly going to humanitarian services..I wonder, how much truly is being used?
I am just bored. I have been reading a lot lately and I was going to write something about the latest in social afflictions like bisexuality, which is very new to human conditioning but maybe later.
Thanks all for your reads and contributions.

I have indeed reached a point where all my responsibility as parent is way behind me, but of course, once in a while they do come home like my children always in need of reassurances. Two are happily married and one, while choose to living alone, is a very capable and strong person. My youngest is working full time while leaving me always asking what is next?
Hmmnnn still leaves me to thinking when is sin a not so in the measure of what is right...?
Most people in the world have no choices than to accept verdict of poverty and lacking privilege s.
Thanks my friend.
Thanks for the encouragement.
Thanks Z
Peace
Thanks Val
Good question but not such an easy one to answer.
I'd go along with what everyone else is mostly saying, your children, family and friends however i'd put one fight ahead of them which for me would have to be remaining true to myself.
Thanks
Once I retire...I would also like to give back to my community or others...don't know what it is yet but I feel fortunate with my life so far...
Take care.

Trust me, you really don't want to know, and never wish to be in that position. Watch the specific Walking Dead episode called, "The Grove" as a for instance. :)
Look at the flowers, just keep looking at the flowers..
It is really not about the impact as you say but the feeling of doing something...no metals or rewards for efforts needed...it is about a desire once you reach a certain age or compulsion to give back...regardless of the smallness of your efforts...
Thank you for sharing your wisdom. Being able to feel rewarded because we know our effort was of value, though others may have not even noticed it...... Is this altruism?
I think of the question "What is your passion?". We each have our own experiences... events that we have been impacted by... an illness or tragic event involving someone close... or something that delights us and we want others to share in the delight. It's nice to be able to make a personal contribution... to enable someone's life to improve...
Altruism is an act without selfishness...saying that even when we give back without accolades...we still feel the benefits...it is a win win situation...it is all about feeling!!
But I will observe the flowers, my favorite job lately

Thanks my friend. Inbound to Mt Rushmore my friend.
I think the greatest motivation for wanting to help others is "happiness". As we want to feel happy ourselves, we wish the same for others too. There is no selfless act. These belong to the angels. As a human we always carry a part of our ego along with us.
It's nice to think like LouLou stated, that only the intent of a person would be what really counts. Though with the intents alone having no effectiveness on someone else, this person will only seem human to others within a limited time, because he/she is only making his/her self happy by this. Still, this attitude of enjoying having such intentions is much better than gaining one's goals with the consciousness of an egoistic background.
In order to act human in a subjective way and also to provide effective help to others in an objective way, I would join a charity organization. Then my intentions can meet with their experienced and well organized work leading to a valuable support for those who need it.

Hi LJ, yes, this is so true and I am very grateful to grow up where I did. I never missed anything, not only in the materialistic sense, I am also very lucky with the family I have.
Boredom is contagious, I think...
Take Care dear friend
My happiness would have truly been materialized but sometimes our fate change in a blink of an eye.
