Proudly South-African
Yes, I am a typical South-African male and Afrikaans-speaking on top of it. The story that we like to keep our women barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen is utter nonsense and classifies under hate speech. It is an insult to both our men and our woman. No woman with any self respect will allow such abuse. While I don’t deny that there are still men who think that way, they are a minority and in no ways restricted to South Africa. You will find them in the East, in Europe, the USA (where the saying was born), and everywhere else. Generally speaking, South Africans are rational, kind, hard working, hospitable, and deeply religious people who maintain high moral values. Yes, we made our mistakes but we mended our ways and we are trying hard to redress the injustices of the past. But as with all other countries, you do get the exceptions.
Don’t allow the hate speech of irrational and/or deranged individuals to cloud your vision of South African people. I’m proud of what I am and when somebody continuously try to belittle my nation, my ethnicity, my gender and/or my person, I’m bound to react rather unkindly. Those who constantly soil my blog with their caustic comments, without ever adding something positive, will testify to this.
Have a great weekend, will you?

But you have to admit there are some very very delusional Sourth-African here.....
Really? I did not even notice.
I personally prefer a natural white wine (as I just opened) but enjoy a sweetish rose too from time to time. Just another South African thing to be proud of.
You missed the fourth one. This one does no evil.
A renegade South African?
I wonder which one represents me.
I like the fourth monkey looking rather pleased with him/her self...lol...or blissfully unaware...
Like the SA white wines too...
Have a good weekend...
So I do no evil, eh?
I'm a 9th generation French Huguenot. My forefathers brought France's wine making techniques to this country.
Not necessarily with the comment above this one though !
Maybe, but then our women are a bit more robust. Only today I kept the shop door open for an approaching lady (about half my age) and she walked through without any acknowledgement. And sometime it is hard to open the car door for a lady if she is already out the car by the time you get to that side of the car. So it cut both ways.
Not a chip this. It is more than a ton of fried potatoes.
South African men are gorgeous! Real men who talk straight. Love them
To me personally it is water on a ducks back. The personal attacks I ignore. Like when it was said that I hate women because my blogs strive to depict women in a bad light. Hello! Most my comments come from women. I'm not going to alienate myself from my readers. But when I see something I don't like, I will write about it. Be that male of female getting the short end. My blogs speak for themselves. Anybody can read them but my people back home cannot speak out because most are unaware of what is being said about them. This blog is to set the record straight.
Sorry my friend. I only noticed now that I did not acknowledge your comment. Do forgive me. It was a rare oversight. I did read it at the time but slipped up afterwards.
There's always a least one fly in the ointment. As my Pa vir my, not steeds se...."dra dit soos 'n dekmantel"
Keep on writing, I might not comment but I do enjoy your blogs
I'm using crutches (down to only one since yesterday) while my foot is on the heal and I'm glad to report that most our young people still have manners. Most made way for me when I approached them. Only few stood their ground, forcing me to walk around them.
It was said about a week ago. I cannot remember if it was a comment or a PM. I get a bit of hate mail from time to time. I normally ignore it but I do reply sometimes.
I was in the Hampton Court maze a few years back with a friend, and some irritating teenage kids were running through it, trying to rack up good times. and jostling us as they pushed past. Once, fine. Second time, same kids, hmm. Third time I pushed one into the hedge while my BFF tripped the other. Two minds that think alike. That's why she's my BFF, of course
My late brother hit some rude guy in the Post office with a crutch many years ago.
While I'm not scared to lay in with the fists when it is called for, I prefer to be known as the gentleman in the family.
And in this case it would have been folly to get aggressive. My foot is still very sensitive and if they turned rogues, I would have been in trouble, young as they were. With a healthy foot, who knows? I do surprise myself at times.
Just what have come over on you?!...
What! The heck is wrong! Babe...
I'm tired of my neighbor's son and his buzz bike confusing sound with speed.
Oh, I conveyed your regards to S. She said she will drop in on us some time when she is not too busy.
Just go out! And get you a new neighbor...
Thanks! For The Message....
It is only 10 days since it was done and the quack made a rather large incision. The ward was larger than anticipated. The wound is healing but still very sensitive when I put weight on it. Remember, it was an internal ward.
Ok, but that is still better than confusing arrogance with confidence.
I'm not defending myself here. I have never sought approval or justification for my deeds. It is what I stand for that was defiled.
