A Beggar and Booze

Sometimes we think we know everything. The sky is blue, grass is green, homeless people are addicts.

Ok so those aren’t really all equal, but you get the point. The majority of people in this world look down on the homeless. Sure there is a percentage of homeless people who are not very nice people for whatever reason. But do they all deserve to be where they are today? Are they all selfish, despicable individuals? The scum of the earth?

I have lots of time for the homeless, and under priveledged. I help where I can, and will be appreciated and no used for booze.

@Luke....thumbs up just when you think compassion has became redundant you see a story such as this and feel hope and joy rise within you believing that there is still some decency and care left in this world. cheering

Sad though how negative past experiences regarding the handing out of charity colours our judgement of others moping

Luke...This community where I live has ordinances posted stating no 'soliciting" for money in certain areas ..in past these areas have been at major intersections with traffic signals near the interstates. With these postings in sight, it is always sad to see someone who is there anyway with their sign held high, asking for money... it is just a matter of time until law enforcement will ask them to move on. From what I can gather at least they are not subject to any kind of legal penalty...just a warning with possibly some money already secured. I do not donate money but would give food,coffee, soft drink to them if allowed. Life can be truly hard for some yet we do not know the "why" of it..the sight of them always brings a feeling of sadness to me. Most have so much and some have so little.conversing sad
