Coffee is Love

Since the year 850 when an Ethiopian goat herder discovered the properties of the coffee bush this brew has helped to turn miserable turds into semi-human functional beings.

Coffee is an important part of my life, my coffee bar owner is my Doctor and he administers my daily doses of caffeine from 6:30am 7 days a week. I personally drink 4 or 5 cups a day, and love coffee more than anything....... well I do love women and cigarettes too.

I do have some side effects such as the odd 4 inch long eyebrow hair appearing almost instantly after the second cup, follicle anomalies are just a minor problem, and it is a cheap form of anger management too.

Is coffee important to you and is it part of the culture where you live?

I am laughing at myself Map. So, all these Jacobs from Germany and Nescafe from Nestle is not Coffee?
Go on please. I am learning the art of your love.laugh
Sands, I did understand lol, I do agree that organic coffee is best, but actually not a lot of pesticide is used and when the beans are washed and roasted it kills off any residue.
The cacao bean was even more valuable for a time. I love chocolate at least as much as coffee. banana
Usha, I bought some jasmine green tea the other day at 80 dollars a pound. Why is it so expensive?
Usha, Jacobs and Nescafe are OK, there is a market for lazy people who use instant coffee, I used to drink it before I became a "born again real coffee person"
Map, that's what I use to think.....the pesticides are just on the outside. I learned this from banana's,the pesticides are immersed in the actually banana not just the peel.....all have a great day, mine now beginswave
Molly, You are right, its these big uncaring conglomerates that are just after profit and do not care about anything or anybody else.

I can see you panting with anger, Is this perhaps a reason you drink Tea?hug
Map, I do try to buy fair trade tea as well, and fairly trading bananas and other products as well. Coffee is not the only issue. but Nestle is one of the worst transgressors, and they are linked to coffee.

I shall have a nice strong cup of tea to get over my panting and ranting grin
I agree, Gypsigh
But all we can do is do our best.
Every small thing we do hopefully makes life easier on somebody else.
And then our personal transgressions, done purposely or not, are more forgivable cheers
There there Molly, You are perfectly entitled to have some Tea to help calm downhug

Gypsy, you too!, I do think that some coffee and many products get labeled as fairtrade or organic when in fact they are not, it's all moneymaking and won't change.

Im almost due another visit up to the coffee bar, and will think of you coffee lovers and haters while I sip from my mug of the freshest brewed coffee and being only 50m from my front door I can almost smell it.
Map, it is very difficult to sell Fairtrade product as such, without there being that. There is the recognisable symbol on them and they are monitored.
Fairtrade goods are popular in Ireland, and there is even a town near me which advertises as a Fairtrade town, as they endeavour to sell as many Fairtrade goods as possible.

Organic can be a bit dodgier alright. If the product is grown in Ireland and is sold as organic, then it is. There are very strict guidelines here regarding that.

I hope you enjoy your coffee.

And by the way, I am not a coffee-hater - I adore everything about it - the process, the smell smitten , and even making it. I always have real coffee in my house for visitors and have both a Spanish cafetiere and a plunger for making it. I also serve instant to those who prefer it.
Molly, You are back on the virtual xmas card list for admitting you have coffee and like the process and smell.

Perhaps Ireland is stricter with fairtrade goods, I have seen Fairtrade labeled goods here, when the pack is opened it contains the same non-fairtrade products and labelling, so just a sleeve around the original product with a higher price, The culprits are huge French owned company.
Miclee, you must be like a tripod after all that tea wink
Molly, how fitting, the 69th comment again! and the blog turning into a more adult theme, however some people say that coffee is an aphrodisiac, may explain a few things rolling on the floor laughing
I wish I could say that I needed to Google it too Map, but I can't lie laugh
Thought y'all might appreciate a product review. professor

Mic, That was funny, but its not coffee!

Looking for Sherpas and mules as tomorrow I set forth to the big city for supplies, anyone available please sent photo of the mule.
Hi 1to1, You sound fine to me apart from the flavorings, its either coffee or not, However support is available in a proper coffee bar that will grind and percolate some decent conversational inspiring coffee.
Hello Map, wave I have tried nescafe, hazelnut flavored, instant coffee, I m hooked. doh It takes some time to perfect making a good cup of instant coffee, but it can be done. The aroma of this coffee, is great, and a jar of it makes a nice gift, yay ,especially for those people you don t know what to get.
AH,Coffee! That delectable and divine drink that keeps the world turning.
I have about 20 cups a day map I can't get enough
As most of what I post seems to upset (annoy) you .............

Make sure you have a cup of coffee (cheap form of anger management) before reading this ....

Oooops! perhaps I should have said that last part first! doh
Shaken, Good man, nice to hear you like coffee as much as me!cheers
Sola, Only one of your posts annoyed me, the rest are nothing, water off a ducks back, besides you are only 60, thought at least in your late 70's!cheers No hard feelings old chap.
Hahahahaha.............. Touche (E with an accent!)
Sola, Touche indeed, so do you drink coffee or not?cheers
Actually (boasting here), I am a coffee connoisseur. I gained this distinction as the principle buyer for the multinational corporation I worked for in the 80’s and 90’s.

The coffee contract was worth some million pounds per year to the chosen supplier. During the selection process I even dictated a special blend that would be used in the companies hotels, restaurants, ships and casinos.
Sola, Well well well, You do have an admirable past, please to hear it, I did think perhaps you had been a smuggler or somalian pirate boss, you are human after all.handshake
Amazing...virtual coffee heals old wounds as well......thumbs up
Sands, Perhaps so, but it may change, coffee does heal the wounds, makes the sick well, cures leprosy...cheers
Not personally crazy about coffee but I need it. As strong brown beverages with kick-starting properties go, it is the quickest and easiest available.

Yessssssssssssssssssssssss I drink it instant!! laugh I do have a filter machine and I do keep good stuff in the freezer for snobby visitors but I don't drink that stuff myself. Apart from the vanilla-flavoured fresh-ground from Sainsbury grin

And don't worry, Molly, it's fair trade.

I hope Map when you found that fake-packaged one you pointed it out to the consumer board, we do all pay more for organic and trust it to be policed properly and it usually is, but citizens arrests help to ensure that professor
Biff, I have been quite nice to those that drink instant, I understand time constraints etc, and you do have proper coffee for you guests.

Reporting things here in Spain is not easy, Its easier to just tell people and boycott the shop.

hug
There is probably a private, jealously-guarded, website for True Coffee Lovers laugh I'm sure you are all very nice people roll eyes but imagine being faced with all that equipment when all you wanted was a cup of coffee, milk and one sugar? It would be quite unnerving.
Buff's new book title, "Death By Coffee" grin
I'm afraid I'll have to join Molly in the groupies.

Only one cup of tea a day for me and must be decaf.
Luckily my visitors only drink tea too and herbal teas.
Gypsy, that pressed a button! rolling on the floor laughing Probably been used before but I LIKE it! rolling on the floor laughing
I go away for 30 mins and now coffee is to be used as a weapon in a forthcoming Biff who dunnit...
Biff, there are websites, but you say all "we people" will face all the equipment and so on, Firstly its an art, secondly any coffee fanatic will just have one in a proper coffee bar.
Daniela, Shame! shame! shame!......I guess I wont be able visit you then, its inhuman to not offer coffee, I would feel lost in a world of decaf tea. hug
