Losing it

What order would you put the list in, from worst to what-the-hey, these things happen -

A Losing your car in the parking lot (doh!)
B Losing your passport on holiday (you NUMPTY)
C Losing your place in a long queue because you forgot something (blast it)
D Losing concentration during a boring repetitive job (senility alert?)
E Losing weight without trying (slightly worrying)
F Losing your temper without real cause (eg road rage)

I’ve done them all except option B (so far) but last night I was doing something boring, repetitive, but important to me (setting URLs into one of my ebooks) and suddenly option D has become the most terrifying thing in the world. Until then I’d have put B at the top.

I may be over-reacting, that's why I'm asking. Perhaps everything, at the time it happens, suddenly becomes the most terrifying ...

Hello Biff hug bouquet
the car in the parking lot. i also pretend i'm not looking for my car in the parking lot. you know, walking with purpose....
F,D,C,B,A,E...

However, F is a younger mans game, I avoid repetitive jobs, I avoid queues, Never done B, Regularly achieve A after a smoke, I've only put on weight in the last 2 years and I can go a day or two easily without eating.
D this could cause a really bad accident and change your life forever in a very bad way!
F this could be it! crying
C that is so annoying crying
A thats so confusing when your in a hurry.
B ive never had a passport to lose!
F road rage is a cause/those idiot drivers! laugh thumbs up
Not finding your car in a large car park can be bad but like Free..I also walk with purpose and always find it sooner or later.

Losing concentration sometimes when grooming a horse can have very grave consequences. grin
Biff, found this when I was going through some of my boxes the other day.

Honeymoon in Bali 1996

Free, yes rolling on the floor laughing lost, me lost? NO!

I was walking along a pavement in snow here and suddenly I was nose-first in a snowdrift, same thing, leap lightly to your feet, 'haha I'm fine' (bloody HELL) laugh
Pat, interesting order, thanks! F may come to you yet again rolling on the floor laughing
Bee2K - I'm liking these lists! and yup I hadn't thought of D being physical oh yes a repetitive job could be seriously dangerous!

Get a passport! Adds stress but the chance to travel and meet some of the unusual people on CS laugh
Dream you numpty haha but love that pic laugh got the bells on your toes?
That it does Biff... I might curse like a sailor and wish all kinds of evil things on a slower driver, but I stay a polite distance back and smile and wave at somebody's nanna/pop when I pass. As a younger man I wouldnt have.
i've forgotten an item at the checkout. i thought, "do i really need this item?", "will i remember this item the next time i'm here"...
Thanks RC handshake

I do count my blessings, believe it or not. I still care for him and I sincerely wish that he'd find someone much better.

He truly deserves a better cook wink
Diova - I was just told of the 14 hour traffic jams for people going through the chunnel. You and me would have been heading back in the other direction, who needs a holiday, eh? rolling on the floor laughing

This is proving awesome for perspective. Phew.
Anklet bells? did you have a problem with chasing pidgeons at the park?
Pat, yeah, you're right, my road rage IS better - grit my teeth and growl, rather than fight down the urge to ram them. Hey, I grew up! dancing
Free, when it's the item you actually went in for? (Coffee, say, or milk)

Those are the days you're so frazzled from the double queue you go blank on where you left the car ... laugh
Dream, remember your stories? They should be required reading for single women on CS rolling on the floor laughing
the last time i forgot something, i thought "i will buy only what i can carry" this prevents me from buying junk. at the checkout, i remembered the salt. at that point, i had a pyramid of food in my arms. a very unstable pile. i resigned to go get the salt, as my arms were burning. then, it was a careful balancing act back to the checkout
Free, first sign of middle age kicking in is when you have to make lists rather than rely on memory.

First sign that old age is kicking in is when you forget to check the list. sigh
My biggest problem, I need to wear glasses to find my glasses, which are usually on a string around my neck or in my pocket.
Hi Biff wave
Amongst all those, I have done E and quite often too.. Wasnt terrifying though. Just made me work really hard to gain them back! blues
Or on top of your head. Or slotted into the neck of your top.

Me too.

sad flower
Kal, E the only one?? You lucky thing rolling on the floor laughing
wave No worriesthumbs up Everyone forgets where they parked
their car, even if it is five minutes.laugh
Think the worst will be loosing my passport while traveling and the most upsetting loosing my temper for no reason. The rest are just fairly regular irritations I can live with.

I would say the other sign of old age is when you forget the list altogether!laugh
Hi Elegs. wave

I don't drive but have been with others who could not find their car in the car park. It is very frustrating, especially at night when you have just done a load of Christmas shopping!

I always feel very guilty and stupid when I lose my temper over little things.

As for the others, I think if it was a lot of weight loss, I would put that one first and second would be losing a passport.

Funny you should say that Daniella. I have made lists when going shopping and have forgotten to bring them. Although, I pride myself on the fact that I can usually remember most of the things that I had written down!peace
Yup, Pedal, that's bottom of my personal list, losing the car. I always park next to a trolley bay these days, fewer places to look rolling on the floor laughing
Blue that could be a truly priceless tip?

Nah.

rolling on the floor laughing
Piece, that's what I'm realizing through this blog. Priorities change, from day to day, example to example. Just think, tomorrow or next week I could be stressing about one of the others, or something else altogether. yay

applause
That's life Elegs. It happens to us all. Then we realise that what we thought was important, was actually very trivial.sigh peace
I once knew someone who having parked her car in town & gone shopping, would have to retrace her steps exactly to get back to her car, regardless of how many shops she'd been in & the car probably being a few yards away she'd still have to go back the way she came to find it doh laugh
Z, you're not so great for remembering where your car is parked either tongue
I'd say if one dabbled with amphetamines, one might manage to achieve all those things at once...
Molly hug I feel sooooooooooo much better about my little D moment.

You never lose your temper? I thought all the Irish were fiery? I've been lied to with a stereotype all this time?

giggle
Molly rolling on the floor laughing unfair we had all crossed that little town eleven times looking for you rolling on the floor laughing
