It's Official: Trump is the 45th President of the United States of America

With Hawaii still to vote, Trump had 304 votes and Clinton had 224. It takes 270 Electoral College votes to win the presidency. Texas put Trump over the top, despite two Republican electors casting protest votes.

This is from ABC News, just published right now.

For all of those who voted and supported Trump like myself, we can finally put this election to rest and move on.

For the losers, better luck next time. But definitely not a chance for Hillary Clinton as her loss is historic in the history of the United States and perhaps the world being the first woman to run twice for the same position and lost.

Is it possible that you could have a hung presedency, I know not now but could it have been possible in the past or future just like we did?
I am not sure Scotty but during the time of Gore and Bush, it was pretty much like this but I have never seen one like this. So full of squabbles and maelstrom of confusion even from the very House of the Republicans.

I have not studied the histories of elections in my country alone, but I remember most of the public outcry of the media, this was with epic proportions in theatrical value.wave
In the future, I am not too worried about because at my age, perhaps I would be lucky if I can witness more elections as mostly we reelect the current president and therefore it is pretty much set up as every 8 years, and at my age that is about unknown if I can live that long. I hope not that long. Three more elections and that is 24 years. Whewww I would be very old Scotty.dunno
Ours was a nightmare having two different party leaders being joint prime minister in a coalalition,...... Anyway I thought Trump was outright winner without all the extra votes? wave
Thanks for the score Lindsey, I haven't been able so far to find out the actual numbers.

Sounds excellent for Mr. Trump and for America.

applause applause applause applause applause
Its about time America was run like a business and clear its enormous debts,....................
In all the legality of the system, he was. But there are some practice that is not provided for in the Constitution as far as I know where the challenge is staged as though there is a way of thwarting the results.

I just wish that it is just as simple as we cast our ballots, it is counted and voila, done. But not here,

By the way Nigel Farage is leaning towards the viability of a very good relationship between my country and yours, that is a far cry from the initial claim of banning Trump to come to UK. What prompted the change of direction, Scotty, do you know?
Viking thanks, if anything we can all rest now and move on. I would just pray and hope that unity amongst us all will prevail. I hope he can muster enough clout to override any disunity and win it with great force of respect and trust. Unity is very important to make any policy works and the way it looks, both the houses where all the laws will get structured are controlled by the Republicans.
It's a done deal darling. No amount of protest is going
to change the reality of the situation. Burn down your
town, bust up police cars, rob the liquor stores, and
torch political figures in effigy. The elected is the elected.
That's the way we roll. Just pray we roll in the right direction. Right now we're wallowing in a Sh't pile of
political, theological, and philosophical pee party. Perhaps
we'll destroy ourselves and the ants will eventually rule
the world. Cool! I've always wanted to date the queen
ant!

kiss kiss kiss
And that's the way it goes Cafe. Even from a very non political stand point, it is settled. But for those who invested so much time and effort, it is a relief, it is finally over.

Now all we have to do is trust that what we voted him for based on his platform would be materialized. I will definitely make him accountable for all the promises he made and I think we have a great headway.wave
Oh goody goody Lindsay I thought we had to wait until January 6th thumbs up thumbs up thumbs up

wave
No need to wait any longer Jenny. It is a done deal. Guaranteed. Official. He is it.cheering
I couldn't agree with you more Scotty. But somehow we do need them corrupt people to run as leaders. It would be worst without them. Look at Somalia, it is far worse than any government run by a corrupt one. However, in a system like ours at least we can express our frustrations and if need be, impeach them should it become necessary. Nixon was one and almost did it with Clinton.
Mic, the drama is over. Now it is time to see what he can do. I understand you have not expressed any liking for him that I can remember but even you get affected by his policies and how his leadership would get steered into any direction.wave

I just hope he would at least do half of what was promised and that is alright with me.

The mechanics of our political system is such that all the branches of the government would work together to have a unity in making any policy foreign and or domestic.wave
All my blessing to America, I'm nervous but I hope Trump will realize the gravity of his role and do his best to be a good president.
It's general knowledge that I was utterly underwhelmed by the major party candidates, Linds.

I gotta admit, The Don is bringing folks around.
Prior to the election, polls indicated 2/3 of people 'disliked' or 'hated' both(!) him & Hillary. devil

Recent polls indicate nearly half are looking forward to his Presidency with optimism, while a mere 1/3 of Murkuns regard it with 'fear' or 'dread'. hole

Take away...Only about half of those who previously disliked or hated him now fear or dread his Presidency! applause

He IS seriously considering former Coast Guard Commandant Thad Allen to head up the VA.
I'll certainly score him points for that. cheers
laugh

cowboy
I am with you Track. He is expected to do so many things good and I hope it will get done.wave
Non I am not quite up to date as to the justifications of his picks but ultimately, I believe that he is also getting some advice from all different directions and I hope that those who are chosen will give him the support to accomplish whatever is good for the Americans. We that believe in him and win the hearts and trust of those that disliked him.wave

Thanks Non. Much love to you, too.teddybear
Now that is a very good and honest observation even from you Mic and I couldn't be happier. If half of those that disliked him will turn around and believe in the sincerity of his goals with the hope that the trust we blanketed him will not be disregarded, that is an achievement all to itself.

We just now have to wait Mic.wave
Right you are, Linds! cheers

cowboy
ALLRIGHT...peace .Maybe now people who wish for ceasefire on Donald Trump bashing can see it coming ...it's time to look at what we can do as a country to support him as he tries to undo some of the craziness that has been a part of the past administration! As for the "hanger-ons" who would like to scream their protests scold ...go get a life outside of this country if you don't like it and spare the rest of us the noise pollution! We have a new President elect and it is time to see what he can do! cheering yay
Yes Harriet time to show support and unity. ::cheering:
Hello Lindsy, hug I m not fully aware of the American political system, but know ,like many Americans, I wasn t impressed with the past administration. The citizens of your country voted for a change, and they got it. And with the campaign rhetoric being history, I do like alot of Trumps ideas. He does have some plans on doing something, instead of talking about it. Now time will tell what gets done, Wish him and your country the best.
Thanks 1to, I'm hopeful things will get done as promised. wave
Lindsy, I love that TIME FOR SUPPORT, AND UNITY, thumbs up
That's the only way we can succeed Ito. We are hopeful.
Hi Phy,

If given the chance, I think Trump will do a good job! He has surrounded himself with some very successful people! Definitely a step in the right direction!thumbs up
Jim yes, we'll now leave it to him to do the rest. I trust he'll deliver as expected.
Cheav, now we can rest.

wave
Any news about his Christmas party, yet?
Not yet but I am sure it will be awesome wave
It has been asserted that Kennedy was the last President of THE UNITED STATES.
Since then, so the assertion goes, all have been owned by special interests.

It's further claimed that each newly inaugurated Prez is allowed to bask in the glory of Inauguration Day festivities.

Then, on his first day on the job, the new Prez is taken to the White House screening room. It is then explained to him who REALLY runs the U.S.

Should he not immediately grasp the point, he is shown a loop of the Zapbruder Film until he does.

So the assertion goes.

cowboy
Agree with you Mic, it's too late for that part.

Who cares at this time? He's done the damage and going away.
Hello there my dear friend.

I'm very sure this is one president that has caused us so much harm on our foreign and domestic policies but he's going awaaaaaaay.

I'm so happy my friend.
Presumably, the forged document is evidence that Obama was not born in Hawaii.

Being born outside the U.S. wouldn't have disqualified him from being Prez.

If it can be shown he was not a U.S. citizen at birth (i.e. his mother wasn't a U.S. citizen) that would raise qualification issues.
I'm unaware of any such claim.

If it can be legally proved the document was forged/faked, and legally proved that Obama is responsible, that may raise questions of the legality of his actions, not his qualifications to be Prez.
And what's Congress supposed to do about the the 'investigation' that claims to have discovered an allegedly forged/faked document?
Commence impeachment proceedings for producing a fake birth certificate?

Even if any of this could be determined...legally determined as in a court of law...what, if anything, would or could be done during his remaining four weeks as Prez?

Huge? No. It's a tempest in a teapot.

cowboy
I do not think so. From what I understand, a hearing in congress will be held 8 days from now.
If proven true?
What will happen with every document he has signed?
What will happen with every executive order he has installed?
I see a mess.
O.K. ...
Congress gets the report of the investigation.
They look at it on January 8.
And then they DO...what?!

Seriously.
What the hell are they to do in the final twelve days before Obama leaves office? Pass a joint resolution condemning telling a fib?
That even assumes that the document can be legally(!) determined to be forged/faked.

There appears to be an assumption among some that evidence of an allegedly forged/faked birth certificate presented to Congress will somehow nullify everything Obama has done in the past.

I cannot see it happening.

Your mileage may vary.

cowboy
I can agree with your statement Mic. And I respect that.
I would also like to state, that Trump says he will cut it off?? Stating that he does not want the distraction.
Will that happen?? I have no idea.
But when one looks at the whole picture.
We will be providing compensation to Obama for the rest of his days.
All of our men who have died under the watch of a president, if proved, will have died in vain.
All of the people who have died, should be considered murdered.
So, will it be determined? I do not know what will be determined. I have no idea how it is going to be handled?
BUT! If it is true, that the certificate is a forgery, I want to know.
I am tired of the spins and lies.
Like I said. 2017 will be an interesting year.
Right you are, Cheav! cheers
