I noticed one change, before, I learned them by going there, now I am learning them from guests coming to me. Are my travelling days over? A year ago today the pets got their rabies shots ready to make the trip to Spain with me (I don't keep track of these things, but FB does). One month short of being in Spain a year. I may have melted into a puddle before then, it ain't 'alf 'ot.

How has the adjustment been? Had you spent much time in Spain before you moved there?
Biff, has it been that quick?

Better planning for Art and I next time around so that we can spend more time in one place i.e your place grin
About 5 hols in Spain itself over the last 5 years, TR, and nearly as many in Spanish-speaking territories. Once I got over the initial strangeness of it, though, it's a lot more like Africa than Scotland is, it started feeling oddly familiar

cool
A melted Biff wouldn't be good sigh

Small typo fix: Maidin mhaith

We are going to have a tropical storm here this weekend.

Those who believe climate change isn't happening must be surely changing their minds this year ..another sigh sigh
Mimi, I still haven't got aircon but it has moved a lot further up the list now that I am experiencing my first full-on summer laugh

But yeah, nearly a year since we all met up in Motril wow
Molly, not been to Ireland, I can't claim an Irish gaelic - that was Scottish. And I had to look up how to spell it anyway since it doesn't sound anything like the way it's spelled!!
In my country Molly, many wear blinders and simply do not acknowledge the climate change.

Of everywhere you lived Biff, which is your favorite and why?
Fay, I'd have to say Kloof, in Natal South Africa, but the why may have a lot to do with the fact I was a very spoiled and cossetted little girl at the time laugh
Biff, Irish and Scottish Gaelic are very similar in many ways as you can see thumbs up

But now you have a new one to add to your collection banana
Found this photo from the Kloof days. Good times.

Embedded image from another site
Molly, either I'll have to come collect it or you will have to deliver it cheering
Ooohhhhhh Biff! You were such a cutie-pie love
Mimi, are you implying I'm no longer a cutiepie?

wow

rolling on the floor laughing
I knew you gonna say that!!!! rolling on the floor laughing

Yes, you still ARE a cutie-pie laugh
laugh hug AND predictable rolling on the floor laughing
Adorable little girl.
Hola Bifarella, Cutie from Kloofhug

Think its hot there?, Pop up here for a day and when you go home you will realise its much cooler down there, but wearing a sarong around the house....Id pay to see you in that.
Hmmmm yes Zulu would have been a great help here uh oh laugh
Map, don't tell a soul but the sarong is only when there are guests around or potential visitors. The rest of the time - well, I have 12 foot walls. What do you think? laugh

One of my guests came here from a month in Granada, he said it was blissfully cool here so eek, could I visit around, hmm, what's October like?
But Z I could corner the market on Zulu tourists laugh
Map, hmmm, specializing? confused

You could have something, at that. I mean up to now I have been specializing in writers and similar but there could be biiiiiig money in your suggestion!

And the desks could be operating tables - one sheet of plastic and Bob's your uncle.

(Snip snip and Bob's your auntie)
Travelling is overrated! professor

There's nothing like a cozy home! heart wings
Naivete, remind me again of the different countries you have lived in? laugh

Home is where you hang your hat.
My Xhosa is passable snooty

Well actually it is laughable, but it would keep your guests amused laugh
When in doubt of what is being said, I smile and say si, si.

Sometimes, interesting things happen grin
I'll speak Irish in the Xhosa style

You won't even need anaesthetic then. They will be so concentrated and confused laugh
yay I suddenly foresee this place becoming the most famous writing hostelry in the entire world.

I'll need to sign you both up for the same booking every year, though -

Oh, and to have room for patients guests, you'll have to share a room. Any problem with that? grin
Share your room?

I'm sure Map would have no issue with that.

You in your non-sarong, and me practicing my Xhosa grin
Get your people to speak to my people, we'll sort something out laugh

Got to go teach some English, back later wave
In the event of overbooking, I could be persuaded to sleep 3 in a bed, as long as you both washed your hands first, any sign of washing up gloves and I shall sleep in the street.
cumô bu sta?

Facebook finally made itself useful, i see.

wave

oh my manners ....

Bonjour tout le monde !
Bonjour, Bo wine
Same for me Biff, I learned Italian first but when schooling started we were all forced to English and over the years I lost the Italian. I still fuss at my folks for not keeping it alive in our household.
maidin mhaith, Baby wine

if it is wrong, blame google
That's perfect, Bo
Except it's afternoon now laugh
Well here's one Elle. Naimbag a bigat mo.

Or magandang umaga, bouquet you'll probably have a very slim chance of meeting some that speak these language (dialect) but just in case. wave
Should have been languages, sorry for the typo. bouquet
LJ - you never know.

But colour me confused - I ran both through my trusty translator and yup, can use the second if the need arises, but - the first?

Your weight has been printed
good morning

confused
Bogey - your cumô bu sta broke my translator. It is now staggering around in circles clutching its hair and muttering.

And yet - still lovely to see you! kiss
I'm wearing my Marigolds either way devil
