Near Death Experiences

Those close encounters have you had any? In my life I had three
1. A heart attack in my mid forties it scared the crap out of me but I still around to talk about it. I was alone in the early morning before daylight and I just came on me with no warning, it was my left coronary which they call the widow maker and due to technology it was repaired.
2. A motor cycle accident I don't remember, I just woke in the hospital with a severe concussion and cracked skull. Over time I healed.
3. A lumbering accident in my thirties about 20 feet above ground a tree limb I was cutting snapped and took the latter I was on out from under me while the chain saw was operating. Luckily I dropped the chain and came away with just a few scratches.

I guess it was not my time to go or did I have an angel in my pocket.

If you would like to share your experiences I would like to hear them but I won't be making any comments. Enjoy this great day.

Did I lose my marbles?

So....
There I was...
Floating comfortably in this stream of life called acceptance enjoying a well paid job in pharmacy having no bumps in the road, well and truly enjoying the dollars$$$. Being a female shoes sexy shoes not just any shoes I will point that out.
...Suddenly I decide at 40 to throw all this in the titty bin and study full time medicine. Suddenly my days have become a constant assessment of anatomy and physiology medical terms, Latin words that I previously assumed were on some exotic menu...
My computer has become my lover.
My refrigerator my fuel tank.
Would I make this decision regardless of the shortcomings?
Absolutely. I am doing what I wanted to do a long time before. Why would I choose to stay in one place?

smoking - the burning issue

When I stopped for a year, my stress levels got hectic. Perfect world, I would smoke 2 or 3 a day and I vigorously defend my right to do just that. This imperfect world, I smoke too many and it would be easier to quit again than cut down.

I AM afraid of becoming one of those ex-smokers who, when you pull out a packet, are worse than atheists realizing they are at a church picnic. rolling on the floor laughing

Do you smoke a cigarette, a pipe, cigars, interesting alternatives?

Perfidious

german or worldwide?

Two things happened in the last few days, which make me wonder about the elites.

One is about a tuberculosis-(tuberkulin)-test (not for me). It is quite simple, everyone could do it, but here normal people do not get it. So I contacted the German Commitee for Fighting Tuberculosis and asked where it could be done nearby. The answer was, you have to see a physician/doctor. But what did this local doctor say? "The test is only for the lungs. Do you throw out sputum?" How can a practicing doctor say that? It is a cheap test, which does no harm. It only shows if an infection occurred once with TB bacteria and also with other mycobacteria.
TB does not infect the lungs only. An infection can take place practically anywhere, it can eat away your nose, destroy bones, can be painful or not at all. It can be there for decades, just doing nothing.

The other is about the dentists organization (Zahnärztliche Patientenberatung), praising itself to offer a second opinion for free, if you have seen a dentist and want to hear if there may be another choice.
So I wrote a mail and got an answer with a date and time: 20.01.2015, 15:30 in Heidelberg. But no name and address. Then another mail arrived: appointment cancelled, next appointment possible a month later. (They offer it only once in a month).

It is perfidious, isn't it?

So there was this wine bottle

brought home to the US from WW2. The vet stored it in a closet and forgot about it. Sometime in the early 1970s he learned more about it and was happy he hadn't drank any of it. It had been bottled by slave laborers from the camps and allegedly many of those bottles had been poisoned with some variety of Agua Tofina as a last act of revenge against their SS executioners. Some authorities were made aware of the existence of the bottle and at least one government in the 70s made an immediate offer to purchase the bottle for a museum, if it was unopened with the seal intact. A really good price.

The vet declined and instead years later his child inherited that and other old wines and brandies. They were moved from the storage location and placed in a key locked cabinet purchased explicitly for them in another place.

Decades later the vet's child had a grown house guest. Yhe house guest was shown the cabinet and explicitly told, do not under any circumstances unlock this cabinet or drink any of these. The now grown child of the veteran did not know the house guest was an alcoholic. A month later the vet's child needed a cork screw and remembered there was one in the cabinet.

A search of the key rings did not locate the key. Instead the once locked cabinet was found to be full of empty bottles. Calling the house guest who had left a week earlier disclosed both the new location of the (worthless) key and also obtained an admission the house guest had taken the key and drank everything while the veteran's child was at work.

The police were contacted but advised because the house guest had run of the house, it could be argued this was not a theft. Since then all sorts of medical problems have beset the one time guest.

The pancreas has failed and been removed. So too her gall bladder. She vomits strange colors and blood. Cysts have been removed from her liver and her lungs. Her menstrual blood turned orange and the ovaries were removed too. Currently although still in her 30s and unable to eat much uric acid crystals have built up in her joints and gout too has been diagnosed. Every day is pain.

The child of the veteran feels bad about it, but notes great economic harm was done by the thefts. The child of the veteran is also of the opinion that a key locked cabinet along with an order to not touch those bottles was all common sense should have required to prevent the consumption. Her opinion is whichever poison was in the bottle has already been metabolized and although testing has not shown anything clearly something still poisoned 70 years later.

The wages of sin are said to be death. This may be a clear example of this. My thought is when the host says do not touch or consume this, and even key locks the cabinet, the ignoring of the instruction was simply an act of great stupidity.
