Have Trouble Getting To Sleep?

coffee2

I've noticed that folks sometimes put up a blog, mainly cuz it's late night where they are and they can't get to sleep. wow
This should help! Search -

YouTube Gentle Whispering ASMR

Maria (aka Gentle Whisperer) apparently is gifted with the proper vocal tones/mannerisms & such to relax people & quickly put them to sleep.
sleep blah blah

Previously, such a person would've been known as a 'crashing bore'.
Now...she's an 'internet sensation'.
Go figure. dunno
Interesting New World in which we live, is it not.

Maria migrated to Maryland USA from Russia about ten years ago.
She intended to take courses to become an in interpreter.
She discovered her gift for boredom about 5 years ago.

It may be a great loss to the cause of World Peace that she didn't stay with her 'interpreter' plan. sad
I can just imagine it...
Some future World leaders are on the brink of unleashing nuclear annihilation.
very mad conversing very mad
uh oh

Interpreter Maria is tasked with interpreting the tense negotiations...
very happy conversing very happy....group hug

And if you don't get to sleep?
Well...some of her presentations include teaching Russian or sharing Russian recipes.
No wicked bad side effects.
Worst case scenario - you learn some Russian or how to prepare a new dish.

hmmm

I'll bet big pharma companies are NOT advertising on her vids!
devil
laugh

uh oh...typing...smile...yawn...sleep

Latest Grenfel Fire details via YouTube reports

I like youtube because sometimes details the Paid Media forgets to mention on the telly pop up on youtube from folks on the scene.

However, two new 'goodies' did pop up on Fox News today (which they did post to YouTube).
First, the London Police now confirmed at least 70 folks are confirmed missing and presumed dead. Very cautiously the spokesmand did conceed the number may rise.
Second, the Fire Chief spoke truly when she announced the First Responders were on the scene in only 6 minutes after the first phone call. HOWEVER, what she 'forgot' to mention is that the first Fire Truck took over an hour to arrive.

A survior interviewed on YouTube casually dropped another not disclosed yet on Paid Media tidbit. At the bottom of the escape route stairs (many of the smoky stairway lights did not operate which made things fun) there were 'security barriers' which required a key card to pass and people were held up there until someone arrived who had remembered to bring their keycard.

There is of course no excuse for not calling for an immediate remediation (alarms, more stairs (external and vented to the outside to prevent the chimney effect), sprinklers, etc.) of the other buildings identical to Grenfel, but none of the London council seems to be doing so yet.

Job time! Looks like I gotta go back to work!

A few years ago my daughter-in-law sent me a tip on a job. It was a foster Grandfather thing and even though it looked interesting I didn't follow through.

I recently had to go on unemployment and in my job search I found the foster Grandfather thing again through the Northern Arizona University. Here in Bullhead City they team up with Beacon of Hope, a hospice, and they do their hospice jobs with them.

I applied and have done all the paper work that includes finger printing and a heavy duty background check. I'm sure these precautions are done because of the horror stories in foster care and caregiving. The ones that have had molesters with children and vulnerable old women completely helpless and in beds. So I will be patient and endure the long wait.

I have been reading the manual and it's quite interesting. Although I don't fully remember the privacy matter titles (the acronyms) I understand that above all I cannot discuss anything about any of the people except with their doctors, nurses, home caregivers (daughters, sons and spouse) the insurance company and the hospice. Above all, the privacy of the patient is the core of all.

In doing this study I have answered some of my own questions. I always wondered why my doctor always gave me sheets and sheets of information when all I could see was writing from the top of the page to the bottom of the page. I'd always take them and put them in my doctor folder in my file without reading them.

It's because it's a federally mandated practice that all doctors, nurses, hospitals, doctors offices and now me must understand fully and abide because it's the law!

This brings me to Bill my next door neighbor. I have known him for 18 months now and I've always "tolerated" his meaningless rants about his doctor's letter's. Today he received a letter 5 days late from the health provider through Medicare. It detailed treatment that he received 5 days ago and it had him riled and he ranted and ranted. The bottom line is that he thought a bill was coming forthwith. I explained to him that this letter was mandated by law to tell him what he was eligible for.

In reading my manual I have to be able to read the minds, in a manner of speaking, of the patient/clients. The manual states what you have to look for in signs and attitude. What I see in Bill is a sign that he may be in the beginning stages of dementia or Alzheimer's. I will keep watching him and be more tolerant and kinder in my responses. I will also have to recommend him to Beacon of Hope for assistance.

I think I am going to like this job if I am approved for it.

But for the grace of the Goddess....

Ran into the delightful elderly couple up the street, while the two were entering a neighbors' home from the work truck, to work at their dependable and never too expensive home service. They've done ours for years, working as equally talented cotechnicians. One of those six decade lovebird pairs, but now she is sadly in rapid decline, due to an illness, which she says the Boston specialists say was due to passsive cigarette smoke in the home and shoe factory, where she worked in lean business times. "And I never smoked nor drank." The community had a fund raising dinner recently for her. Good to see her continuing to try to work, but he'll be lost without her. Aa.

Signs and symptoms of getting older....

notice I used "older", not old. Funny thing. If you start at the gray/thining hair on the head, and move slowly downward on the human body, changes and decreases in appearance and function show up, progressively, over the years. Ouch. But here's the kicker, as with health problems in those of us who have drunk too much over the years, the problems show up differently in different folks. We all hear of such folks burning out their livers, and of course some do. But in some of the worse drinkers, the livers stay fine till old age, and the heart, balance, thinking, shakes, skin, pancreas, or some other thing goes. And so it seems to be with aging. Rarely, all systems fail. But usually, it's an individual thing. Dare I mention the two evil "S" words? Sagging and shrinkage? Did I bring just a little touch of joy to the morning? ;--)) Aa.

Bike insurance

a friend of mine's husband does a lot of biking, with a club that does a lot in the community, particularly with kids, but that's a whole other blog.

NOT ASKING FOR MONEY JUST FOR IDEAS ABOUT GETTING BIKERS TO INSURE THEMSELVES

ANYWAY. He said they're once again being asked to help fund-raise for a youngster who has had a serious accident and - didn't have insurance. This is in South Africa and the hospital is asking a R90K deposit to do an estimated R300K worth of surgery or he will lose his hand. (Is that about $15K deposit? Close enough)

Hubby wants her to do some blogging about GETTING INSURANCE WHEN YOU GET A BIKE, damnit, but wants to word it so it catches attention, not too preachy.

She asked me but I'm not really clued up on bikes and bikers. Any suggestions?

NOT ASKING FOR MONEY NOT ASKING FOR MONEY SHEEESH!!!!

Asking for ways of making people THINK before they get on a bike and roar off into the uninsured blue! One tag suggested was "Dont ride the hog if you cant pay the doc" laugh

What is the deal with "false" memories?......

The evidence seems to be that most have them, but oddly, usually only at certain times in life. In quite young years, some appear, and seem to confuse kids about how real they are. Imaginary friends may be one sort. Sadly, especially in childhood abuse investigations, unskilled counselors have planted false details in kids' thinking, often using leading questions, which have then become damaging "false" evidence. Anatomically correct dolls seem to help here. Then they tend to occur much less in middle years, but become more common in senior years. They often can appear quite detailed and real, until the facts are checked out, to show they are unlikely to have happened. It's thought that in some cases, recurrent, unrecalled dreams may be the sources. Lots of other scientific features involved---nuff said for now. One of my most frequent and strong ones was of my purchasing some rental real estate. Three separate propeties, all quite desirable, but in need of work. and in widely different places, but all in towns that I live in. In some ways, these may represent wish fulfillment, as Freud thought most dreams were. In each case, they bugged me so much, that I went to each to see if anything vaguely resembling the "memory" existed. None did. I even worried at times about being behind on mortgages---which never existed! Another common one for me, this one actually occuring in remembered dreams, was of not preparing enough for grade school examinations. Actually created a real feeling of guilt at not preparing, and fear of failure. As I age, all become less intrusive and much less frequent. Some seem to have quit me entirely. The mind is a facinating thing. Aa. .

Just what is it about yawns, and contagious yawning?

What are the reasons behind this common human (and animal) behavior? Reading my blogs and posts, of course, will automatically do so, as with other tedious experiences. But sleepiness, cold, fear, and much else seems to bring them on. And they can certainly spread in a group of people, almost anywhere. Many animals yawn as well. And there are reports if interspecies yawning. Sometimes when presenting an errudire technical scientific argument to Bravo, he just looks lovingly at me, and lets go a huge noisy yawn. Tames my thoughts of self importance in a New York minute. Aa.

Real illness, or.....personal choices...

there's the question. How can anyone be heartless enough to critcise someone with, say, muscular dystrophy, or a form of epilepsy, or one of the schixophrenias, or colon cancesr, with having some choice in becoming sick? Much less restrict health care help to them? But how about, say, obesity---or it's typical result---type 2 diabetes, or sun worship skin cancer, or lifelong disablity after a no helmet MC crash, or food and no exercise heart illness? These involve life style choices.
But moving on to so called addictive "diseases", are things really different? End stage alcohol induced liver cirrhosis, still drinking, refused for a transplant, and feel unfairly treated (not treated)? Surgery refused for cocaine induced nose deviation? Barometric surgery, if refuse lifestyle modifications?. Tons of examples to consider, here, no? . Molly codllers love to throw the term "disease" about for addictions, as many do words like racist and a variety of those ending with ---phobia, often with little scientific evidence, usually to assuage their self loathing liberal guilt. Takes all kinds, even such as me! ;-) Aa. .
