World Diabetes Day Saturday 14 November 2015
World Diabetes Day .... is celebrated annually on November 14. Led by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), World Diabetes Day was created in 1991 by IDF and the World Health Organisation in response to growing concerns about the escalating health threat posed by diabetes.
Healthy Living and Diabetes is the theme for 2014 – 2016..... ... ..Diabetes Type II.......What is Diabetes?
Type 2 Diabetes is a chronic and life-long disease marked by high levels of sugar in the blood. Also called adult-onset diabetes, Type II diabetes is the most common form of this increasingly common health ailment, representing 90-95 percent of the better than 350 million worldwide cases of diabetes. The condition is characterized by high blood sugar levels (hyperglycemia) as a result of the body's resistance to insulin or inability of the pancreas to create that sugar metabolizing enzyme.
Symptoms of diabetes include persistent thirst, frequent urination, excessive hunger, sudden weight loss, fatigue, issues with vision, sores that heal slowly, and irritability. In the long term, the presence of excess glucose in the blood can create additional diabetes symptoms due to cumulative damage to your health including eye damage, kidney disorders, nerve damage including neuropathy, circulatory issues, gangrene, and heart disease.
The causes of diabetes are not perfectly clear, but certain risk factors can substantially increase your risk of developing pre-diabetes and eventually a diabetic condition. Obesity and carbohydrate-heavy diets are the clearest triggers for diabetes. Conversely, regular exercise can improve the body's sensitivity to insulin and lower your risk for diabetes. The condition does have a genetic link, is increasingly likely with age, and strikes races other than Asians and whites at greater rates.
Well, today I turn 51. Yikes! I know I should be happy that it's my birthday, but I'm not. I know the alternative is I'd be in the ground, so I have that to be grateful for. Ever since I turned 40, I have not wanted to celebrate my birthday. My parents are coming, from Ohio, tomorrow to celebrate my birthday. So, I will put a smile on my face and act happy.
So, how do you face growing older with grace and appreciation?

Telling a depressed person to "snap out of it" or "just be happy", is like telling a deaf person to listen harder.

Last week I found out that a friend of mine had died. He was a good no bullshit guy that most of us got along with. Working in Africa can be hot and time permitting we always had a few drinks at night after being out in the field all day. I'll never forget the story that he told us one night about this recurring dream he was having ever since he was a young boy. He told us about the dream in detail and one could 'feel' this dream was bothering him a lot. In the dream he was untying a rope under a shed when suddenly a bolt of lightening struck him and how he could feel his spirit leave his lifeless body.
Well according to his wife he was loosening a old dog-chain (lead) under a tree when lightening struck. He was killed instantly.
Was this coincidence or was his fear justified?
I had a bit of road rage today. Didn't do anything stupid, of course, just dropped the F bomb a lot which my daughter noticed. Apparently, I'm the only one on the road who knows how to freaking drive! My aggression meter is maxed out. I've been losing my temper a lot lately.
Apparently, not dealing with PTSD has some serious repercussions, mentally and physically, of which I'm dealing with right now. I'm still operating in survival mode as if I was still living in the toxic, abusive environment with my ex. I had therapy for PTSD for my first marriage, I've just never dealt with it from this past marriage.
Once I deal with it, my body will stop operating in survival mode, waiting for the next bomb to drop. Then things can play out naturally and return to normal. I'm looking forward to my appointment with my psychiatrist this afternoon.
I am thinking of leaving CS. I have begun looking for another site, but I don't think I want to do this online thing anymore. Maybe it's just time to call it quits. I'm not getting as much enjoyment out of the forums and I'm hesitant to post to my blog now because of some nasty comments I get.
Except for that, I've enjoyed my time here.

There are some Tips about to be a longevity wich I heard of ;
1) Feeling you are more younger (at least 13 years) than your physical age.
2) The daily intake of your calories is reasonable.
3) An average of your basic pulse is about 15 beats per 15 seconds.
4) Stomach flat when you lay down.
5) A higher level of vitamin D in your blood.
6) Thick ears plus long lobes.
7) The type of your blood is B.
8) The blood pressure is higher slightly.(close to 140/90 mmHg)
9) Living in a good environment with lots of green plants.
10) Like doing exercise often.
And maybe some more... anybody know? I only fit for No.7, so longevity is not my business so far.
Now enjoy your weekend! I off to rest.

When you boot a guy in the testicles?
Its simple really, the testicles are actually internal organs like the kidney or liver. They start off up inside the body until a certain age when they drop down into the scrotum outside of the body. The reason they wind up in the scrotum is that they require a temperature lower than the internal body temperature to do what they do without being too hot.
Why is the testicles being an internal organ matter?
Internal organs are highly sensitive, thats why we evolved to have our organs inside and protected. Have anyone ever been jabbed in the side and it hit the kidney? It is its own special kind of pain that is just indescribable.
Just imagine if that kidney is outside the body with just a layer of skin for protection and someone drawed off and boot you. You get a idea of what kind of pain we are talking about. Same deal with the testicles.
