In major cities across the nation, fast-food workers and other service employees held signs, shouted chants, and gave impassioned speeches to demonstrate their conviction that Congress deserves a maximum hourly wage of fifteen dollars.
“Members of Congress are people, just like you and me,” Tracy Klugian, a McDonald’s employee who took part in the Washington protest, said. “They should be paid what they deserve.”
Assuming that they continue to take off approximately two hundred and forty days a year, members of Congress earning the proposed maximum would see their average annual income adjusted from a hundred and seventy-four thousand dollars to thirteen thousand five hundred dollars, a salary that many marchers called “fair and equitable.”
“I know what members of Congress will say: ‘I can’t live on that,’” Harland Dorrinson, a protester in Chicago, said. “Well, if they want to earn more, they should go out and acquire some skills.”
While organizers of the marches proclaimed today’s protests a success, in some cities the demonstrations met some opposition from counter-protesters, who argued that fifteen dollars was too much.

Here’s a question: Does anybody have any idea what the Republican Party stands for in 2020?
One way to find out: As you are out and about marking the new year, it is likely you will come across a Republican to whom you can pose the question, preferably after a drink or two, as that tends to work as truth serum: “Look, I was just wondering: What’s the Republican Party all about these days? What does it, well, stand for?”
I’m betting the answer is going to involve a noun, a verb and either “socialism” or “Democrats.” Republicans now partly define their party simply as an alternative to that other party, as in “I’m a Republican because I’m not a Democrat.”
In a long-forgotten era — say, four years ago — such a question would have elicited a very different answer. Though there was disagreement over specific issues, most Republicans would have said the party stood for some basic principles: fiscal sanity, free trade, strong on Russia, and that character and personal responsibility count. Today it’s not that the Republican Party has forgotten these issues and values; instead, it actively opposes all of them.
Republicans are now officially the character-doesn’t-count party, the personal-responsibility-just-proves-you-have-failed-to-blame-the-other-guy party, the deficit-doesn’t-matter party, the Russia-is-our-ally party, and the I’m-right-and-you-are-human-scum party. Yes, it’s President Trump’s party now, but it stands only for what he has just tweeted.
A party without a governing theory, a higher purpose or a clear moral direction is nothing more than a cartel, a syndicate that exists only to advance itself. There is no organized, coherent purpose other than the acquisition and maintenance of power.
This is a sad fall. In Ronald Reagan’s America, being born an American was to win life’s lottery; in Donald Trump’s America, it makes you a victim, a patsy, a chump.
Trump didn’t hijack the GOP and bend it to his will. He did something far easier: He looked at the party, saw its fault lines and then offered himself as a pure distillation of accumulated white grievance and anger. He bet that Republican voters didn’t really care about free trade or mutual security, or about the environment or Europe, much less deficits. He rebranded kindness and compassion as “PC” and elevated division and bigotry as the admirable goals of just being politically incorrect. Trump didn’t make Americans more racist; he just normalized the resentments that were simmering in many households. In short, he let a lot of long-suppressed demons out of the box.
This paranoid element in the party has existed for decades, since the Joe McCarthy era, when some Republicans who saw dark forces threatening the country argued that only radical action by “true” Americans — white, Christian, conservative — could safeguard the nation. Barry Goldwater revived the theme in 1964, and George Wallace won five states with it as a third-party candidate in 1968. I worked in every Republican presidential campaign from 1996 through 2012 and assumed that those guys had long been vanquished and that optimism and inclusion had prevailed. I was wrong.
This impeachment moment and all that has led to it should signal a day of reckoning. A party that has as its sole purpose the protection and promotion of its leader, whatever he thinks, is not on a sustainable path. Can anyone force a change? I’m not optimistic. Trump won with 46.1 percent of the vote in 2016, while Mitt Romney lost with 47.2 percent in 2012; no wonder Republicans have convinced themselves that the path to victory and power lies with angry division.

Senate impeachment rules
The Senate is a disappointment in a sham trial, when it reject documents and witnesses. Every nation around the world is following this with great interest.
The Senators take an oath as juror’s and judge’s and should be impartial, but their many votes tell something else. They seem to go along with their dishonest and criminal President.
Trump cannot be trusted. He turn on many of his allies, he trashes normal dialog and behavior, imposes sanctions, breaking up agreements, issue tariffs, military strikes at other countries, etc.
The whole world have followed the circus, but have somehow put up with it, because they have viewed him as unruly and out of control. When he is impeached, everyone expect that America would step up to the situation.

Democrats in Ohio, California and Oregon Push Laws Demanding That Private Property Owners Allow Homeless to Camp on Their Land.
A very disturbing video was posted on Twitter this weekend.
A homeowner in Los Angeles claims the local government is preventing him from removing a homeless encampment from his property.
According to local Democrats there is no such thing as private property.
Extremely vulgar language in video.
However, this is not an isolated incident.
In December Ohio’s First District Court of Appeals says governments cannot ban homeless encampments from private property — like Hamilton County did at the New Prospect Baptist Church in 2018.
And Portland, OR, officials considered forcing private property owners to provide “resting spots” for the city’s homeless.
This is complete communism.

When Does It Count as a Coup?
Freedom is not our norm. In the history of mankind, and even today, oppression and political corruption are the standard, with the people of more than 90 nations living without the freedom we take for granted in America.
Thomas Hobbes was right. Unless we decide, together, to live in peace under a mutually agreed upon and respected social contract, life is invariably nasty, brutish, and short.
But the question for us who live in the freest nation today, is at what point would we say—with justification—that we have lost too much of our liberties and that our nation is being stolen from us right now? Would we even realize if there were a concerted attack on our freedoms? Or, like the proverbial frog in hot water, would we only work out what was going on once it was too late?
As a warning to those who think the Left can never turn back the clock and that our freedoms always increase and never diminish, here is a warning. Not only are we living in the most divisive time in the republic’s history since the Civil War, but we are also right now witnesses to an ongoing plot to subvert the duly elected President of the United States.
Here are the incontrovertible facts:
Under the Obama Administration, CIA Director John Brennan and FBI Director James Comey initiated Operation Crossfire Hurricane, the first-ever counterintelligence operation in America history targeting a presidential campaign.
During the operation, the CIA and FBI deployed multiple human intelligence assets to attempt the entrapment of members of the Trump campaign and link them to Russia.
Knowing it would be illegal to spy on Americans without a crime having been committed, or without even the predicate of a crime, John Brennan circumvented the Constitution and used British intelligence to target Obama’s and Hillary Clinton’s political adversaries.
Clinton and the DNC paid millions of dollars to a former British spy, Christopher Steele to manufacture an opposition research file using Russian propaganda in order to smear candidate Trump.
Comey’s FBI and Loretta Lynch’s Justice Department used that propaganda dossier to obtain secret surveillance warrants illegally from the FISA courts to spy on members of the Trump campaign, illegal because the FBI and the Justice Department deliberately hid from the FISA judges exculpatory information as to the political origins of the dossier and the political agenda of Christopher Steele.
The DNC itself sent a Ukrainian American, Alexandra Chalupa, to the Ukrainian embassy in D.C. to coordinate further smears against candidate Trump.
The National Security Agency’s unparalleled surveillance capabilities were repeatedly abused by contractors to spy on the Trump campaign, contractors who weren’t even allowed to access NSA databases, until Obama’s NSA Director Mike Rogers took it upon himself to warn President-elect Trump of the operation against him.
Peter Strzok, head of the FBI’s counterintelligence division, planned an “insurance policy” to knee-cap the Trump Administration should Clinton lose the election, a plan he bragged about to his mistress Lisa Page in texts over government devices. That insurance policy would become the Mueller probe.
After the election, General Mike Flynn, President Trump’s new national security advisor, was framed for a process crime by acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe, who asked Flynn to meet with his agents for an interview without warning him that he was under investigation, or warning him of his rights under interrogation, telling him he had no need for counsel during the meeting.

Issues, issues... let me get you some tissues...
Looks like we're ending the year with comparisons about the defunct Matchdoctor and Connecting Singles again. My advice: Don't bother. It's like my dad's dog is bigger than your dad's dog. It's comparing a theme park to an amusement park, the better magician Houdini or David Copperfield.
Although MD had forums, blogging and people from all over the world, it was a different venue. If you ask a comedian if the jokes he tells in Vegas get the same responses to a supper club in the Catskills, his answer would probably be no.
I've been here about 18 months and what I found isn't much different than what went on there. I'm speaking about the CS regulars long before the first wave of MD refugees arrived. Actually, the most significant differences I found are the CS regulars being a bit clannish and not really friendly to newbies. I see lots of sandbox mentality, bullying and empty forum threads as though a quota had to be met.
My first blog here was a success.
I was told how my profile should read. Yes, thank you.
Early on, I did a blog about menopause. Inspired partly from a friends experience, partly from internet research and partly from my own (first wife) experience, yet I had enormous resistance from women who told me I was wrong. Huh??
Quick recap: Me "This is what I experienced" some members "No, you're wrong"
I locked the blog, deleted all the comments and wrote something different in it's place.
We're coming up on a new year. I don't expect people to change.
Stop crying and stop supporting things you dislike about this place.
Do something productive.

Think about this... With less than 100 people who blog and use the forums. We're a really small part of the site.

Judge Roy Moore
Some of you may be wondering what Alabama Judge Roy Moore has been doing since he was removed from the bench for refusing to remove the Ten Commandments from his courtroom wall. The following is a poem written by Judge Moore. Judge Moore was sued by the ACLU for displaying the
Ten Commandments in his courtroom foyer. He has been stripped of his judgeship and now they are trying to strip his right to practice law in Alabama ! The judge's poem sums it up quite well.
America? the beautiful,
or so you used to be.
Land of the Pilgrims' pride;
I'm glad they'll never see.
Babies piled in dumpsters,
Abortion on demand,
Oh, sweet land of liberty;
your house is on the sand.
Our children wander aimlessly
poisoned by cocaine
choosing to indulge their lusts,
when God has said abstain
From sea to shining sea,
our Nation turns away
From the teaching of God's love
and a need to always pray
We've kept God in our
temples, how callous we have grown.
When earth is but His footstool,

For 8 years, we sat silent, while Obama divided our nation. He used identity politics, race warfare, and class warfare to divide us all. Obama thrust universal healthcare upon us and we sat silent, Obama and his administration removed monuments, statues and plaques....our past, our heritage from parks and plazas in cities and small towns around the nation....In the meantime, Hillary and Obama let 4 Americans die in Benghazi, while they watched on closed circuit TV.....Again, we were silent. We watched Hillary Clinton and Donna Brazil rig a primary against Bernie Sanders. We saw Bill Clinton and Loretta Lynch (Attorney General at the time) sit on a flight line, only to find that Hilary was exonerated for any crime; regarding her acid washed/bleach bit server and 33,000 deleted emails. Again, we were silent....We have watched our duly elected president harassed each and every day, for 3 years; even though he has put millions back to work, brought jobs back to America, stood up to our adversaries, and fought like hell to protect our borders.
Now, we see Joe Biden leveraging $1 Billion American dollars for his son. However, the Democrats and the media only care about impeaching Trump! So, I can tell you with the utmost certainty, if you are successful in your witch-hunt, we will NOT be silent!!!

Our country needs solidarity now more than ever....if we give in to what the media is feeding us, we are in serious trouble!
What’s more, our rights are being systematically removed behind multiple Democratic smoke screens!!
My advice to you is you better buckle up and get ready!
