They don't come back...

The problem with any dating site is they need to have a reason for new members to return.
They don't come back if there isn't anything to keep their attention. Dating is the number one reason for the bait. While it's great to have a place to post videos, poems, recipes and photos, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter can do the same thing... on a larger scale and while you say you're not there to date, many of the profiles on those platforms do exactly that.

Blogs and forums generally detract from the dating process and you find yourself spending hours in hopes of finding someone, but percentage wise, most bloggers don't date.
I get a few hits a week of looks, likes and messages. They are mostly from women, new members under the age of 35 and a portion of the profiles disappear while a high percent never return.

Scanning the 'New Women in Everywhere' list, I found by page 5 the amount of members who don't return out weight those who do. 50% failure and they have been here less than a week. What is the reason for this and can it be changed?

I used to think a dating site with a chatroom was the place to be and make quick communications that were better than reading blogs and forum threads. Not many dating sites had/have live chat. One place I hang out at actually has a chatroom with never more than 2 or 3 people. Usually, it's guys waiting like sharks for a woman to appear!
laugh
So that isn't working. At least, not on that site.

What we do here is private.
I don't see who you are looking at and messaging.
You don't see who I'm looking at and messaging either.
One site actually had those statistics on the member's profile.
You knew up front who received the most messages, if they actually read them, replied or deleted messages without reading them!
It was only a few seconds to realize it wasn't worth messaging someone who habitually deleted unread messages.

Take the bad with the good. If I remember correctly, you were nagged if you didn't actively message other members and those statistics were on your profile for all to see, so you can look at a member's profile and know if they were actively communicating with other members. I've got to say, the scary part is it revealed who you were messaging with!
I don't recall how long that lasted and I don't want someone to know who I'm interested in. That was worse than High-School dating.

Dating site expectations are too high. You're not going to find a soulmate if they are one in a million, because you may have to go through a million to find one!

A Scandal For Every Month: The Biggest Botches Failures And Mess-Ups Of Joe Biden’s First 12 Months

It’s not hard to remember a Biden disaster for every month of his first year at the stern … or in the basement, as the case may be.

January: Biden’s Radical First Week
On his first day in office, President Joe Biden signed a list of radically left-wing executive orders, including an order requiring that schools must ignore the biological differences between male and female students from the athletic field to the bathroom if they wish to continue receiving federal funding.

February: Biden’s CDC Worked to Keep Schools Closed
In February, Biden’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced strict reopening guidelines that would keep many schools around the country shut down.

March: Working With Corporations to Create Vax Passports
As The Washington Post first reported, the Biden White House spent the month of March plotting with corporations to develop a “vaccine passport” system to force Americans to show their Covid papers in order to participate fully in society.

April: Biden Debuts Radical Social Spending Plan
At the end of April, Biden announced his “American Families Plan,” a list of far-left spending priorities, many of which would become hallmarks of his struggling Build Back Bankrupt agenda.

May: More Unsavory Hunter Exploits Emerge
Scandal follows President Biden’s troubled son Hunter around, as the country learned when the New York Post published damning information recovered from a laptop the younger Biden allegedly left at a repair store in late 2020.

June: Record-Setting Crisis at the Southern Border
Biden’s crisis at the Southern border has been setting records all year, but it was in June that apprehensions surged past 1 million for fiscal year 2021 and border crossings were at the highest levels since 2006.

July: Bragging about Working with Big Tech to Silence Dissent
In July, the Biden administration bragged about colluding with Big Tech to shut down perspectives with which the regime disagreed.

August: Bungled Afghanistan Withdrawal
August saw the largest-scale disaster on Biden’s watch so far, when the administration’s disorganized withdrawal from Afghanistan left 13 American service members dead.

September: Biden Lies to Undermine His Own Border Patrol Agents
After a photo of U.S. Border Patrol agents on horseback was misconstrued by Democrats and their media allies to falsely accuse agents of “whipping” criminals.

October: Biden’s Ed Secretary, DOJ Collude with NSBA to Smear Parents as Domestic Terrorists
On Sept. 29, the National School Boards Association sent a letter to the White House asking Biden to use the FBI and other federal law enforcement to target parents using terrorism laws.

November: That Tyrannical, Unconstitutional OSHA Vax Mandate
Biden issued a press release threatening a vaccine mandate for private businesses with 100 or more employees.

December: Supply Chain and Inflation Nightmare
December saw the climax (so far) of Biden’s joint inflation and supply chain crisis, dually caused by the administration’s radical spending and Democrats’ Covid lockdowns.

I'm concerned about Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas...

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has popped up in the news this past week... several times. It appears his connections with conservative billionaire Harlan Crow has recently uncovered some unreported gifts and non-disclosure of real estate sales.
However wrong (or possibly illegal) that is, he will gather support so it's like water running off a duck's back.

The question raised is how could a Supreme Court Justice be impartial and able to do his job fairly when his wife and long time investor friend are ultra-conservative pumping money and support into the Republican party?

Certainly my opinion... I expect some of you to differ.

Nearly a year ago, there was movement on other issues that he should be removed from his position.

I'll call this a request for justice about a Justice.

Good vs Bad

Never in my lifetime did I ever expect to see the leaders of democracy, founders of 'Human rights' and everything that is 'Fair and Just' for all of mankind embrace the likes of the most evil present day Nazi regime in Ukraine.

THINK TWICE

Risky business this being a climate activist these days.

These days rather think twice before accepting an invite to join a protest.

An environmental activist died after raising hands and being shot from head to toe by police nearly two months ago near Atlanta, the person's family and attorneys said Monday.

The activist known as “Tortuguita,” whose full name is Manuel Esteban Páez Terán, suffered 14 gunshot wounds on Jan. 18, family attorneys said.

Intelligence

What traits suggest that someone is intelligent?
Showing one or two of the below traits might not mean that someone is very smart.
But if someone displays all ten of them, they are probably highly intelligent.
1) They are introverted
Several studies have shown that introverts are more likely to be highly intelligent, whopping 70% of “gifted” people fall into the introverted category.
Indeed many of the people we consider geniuses are said to have been introverted.
Albert Einstein, Charles Darwin, Isaac Newton…
A 2016 study found that people of higher intelligence felt less satisfied when they spent more time hanging out with friends.
But that’s not the whole story, of course; being an introvert doesn’t make someone automatically intelligent.
2) They are a cat person
The evidence that those who favor cats are more intelligent is surprisingly compelling!
A study conducted in 2017 found that students who thought they were “cat people” scored higher on abstractness and general intelligence.
Another study, again conducted on students, came to the same conclusion;  feline fans had higher intelligence.
Of course, this preference may have links to their personality. In one study, cat lovers were also shown to be more introverted, which makes sense given the previous point.
3) They are curious
It should come as no surprise that many extremely intelligent people are highly curious.
Web MD noted that “insatiable curiosity” is one sign of genius in children.
Whatever the reason, it seems clear that this is a trait that suggests someone is really intelligent.
4) They are a night owl
“The early bird catches the worm.”
We’ve all heard it a thousand times.
But is this correct?
Well, research suggests that night owls actually have the upper hand when it comes to intelligence.
5) They are open-minded (if they are young)
This is another one of those traits that you might have guessed.
A study conducted by Dr. Jacqueline Bichsel found openness “to be a strong predictor of young adults’ ability to retain general knowledge and store short-term information.”
6) They are unconventional
Geniuses are often unconventional, to say the least.
This might be due to their openness.
Einstein didn’t believe in wearing socks.
Nikola Tesla hardly slept and would walk eight to ten miles every day!
Benjamin Franklin and Theodore Roosevelt loved swimming in cold, cold water.
A study also suggested that “liberals” and “atheists” tend to be more intelligent.
7) They are risk takers
Some might presume that intelligent people play it safe but evidence from a study in Finland would suggest that risk takers tend to be more intelligent.
8) They are impulsive
Being super intelligent must come with some downsides, right?
It sure does.
One of these is a tendency to be impulsive.
First, intelligent people tend to give in to instant gratification.
Moreover, they are often unplanned.
You can imagine that these combined are not exactly a recipe for success, but it is a trait that often comes with a high IQ, unfortunately.
9) They are not very physically-active
When we think of highly intelligent people, ‘lazy’ is not the first word that comes to mind.
However, science begs to differ.
A 2016 study published in the Journal of Health Psychology essentially found that smarter people were less physically active than those with lower intelligence.
10) They struggle with anxiety
Unfortunately, someone who is highly intelligent may suffer from anxiety.
This is backed up by several studies referenced by Psych Central.
If someone displays these ten traits, you are likely dealing with someone with a high IQ.

AGING - a Blessing, or a Curse?

“Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, And my age is as nothing
before You”. (Ps 39:5)
“Wisdom is with aged men, and with length of days, understanding”. (Job
12:12)

A few years ago, I remarked to one of my girlfriends that my body may be aging, but my eyes and mind still ‘see’ and ‘think’ with the same youthfulness as when I was in my twenties and thirties. Not that maturity and life’s many experiences haven't had (and continue to have) its impact on the quality of my thought processes, but it is as though my mind has not really caught up with the ‘physical’ aging that is taking place. Due to 'good genes' and hair colour (dye), I manage to look a bit younger than I actually am, but my body’s sometimes unanticipated and unexplained pains always let me know just how OLD I am becoming.laugh

What are some of the issues associated with aging?

Including ‘unanticipated and unexplained pains, and slowness’, one can add:
-Uncertainty about one’s ability to manage future expenses;
-Concern about the future care of one’s children/dependants;
-Fear of being alone;
-Health issues such as cancer, heart problems and Alzheimer’s/Memory loss; and
-Death itself.

But aging does offer some benefits. “Reeeally?” is what you might be thinking about now, right? hmmm Well, from my perspective, “Yes, it reeeally does”. professor
As I have aged, my experiences in life have caused my level of wisdom and understanding to increase, my confusion and anxiety about my past mistakes and future challenges to subside, and my dedication to God and value for life to become more fervent.

No, I haven’t figured it all out. I still may make foolish mistakes, and I can sometimes become very anxious about my future regarding issues like generating enough income to meet health needs, food, home maintenance bills and so on. Also, my dedication and zeal may wane from time to time causing me to want to give up the fight.

But I can’t stop aging, nor can I dictate the future. The only way I can keep myself from freaking out is to deal with each day as it comes, trusting God for His divine Grace and Mercy to take me through to the end – whatever aging may bring.

Aging may be a curse, but it can also be a blessing.comfort wine

DO WITCHES EXIST?

Yes they do. So be careful, especially this time of the year. How do you recognise a witch? Well, they are very crafty and try to be friendly with selected people. But, because of their DNA, they have missing ingredients. They can not feel emotion, or love, but only aggression and try to inflict pain whenever possible. They are likely to be evil extra terrestrials.
At Halloween they become more active and maybe a rhyme will illustrate this:-
At Halloween
You can hear her scream
When at home
You can hear her groan
Out at night
She gives people a fright
On her broom
She carries just doom
Making spells
And many smells
Beware of the witch
The nasty b*tch

So, be careful and watchful people. She could be closer than you think.
