Paldi5: patmac, the problem with this post (among many) is that Al started asking questions about Resolution 181 - which has nothing to do with the thread title. So everyone is talking about the UN and the partition and the wars that happened after that.
You with your posts about the "numbers" and mine about the Israel Lobby are more on topic, I think.
The thread is mis-named as to what people seem to WANT to talk about. All these Middle East threads get back to the same things: ligitamacy, anti-semetism, the use of power or terror rather than following international law, the UN is discredited and disrespected. Stuff like that.United Nations General Assembly Resolution 181 November 29, 1947http://www.yale.edu/lawweb/avalon/un/res181.htm
Yep,and the Arabs violated it,when they attacked Israel!
Paldi5: The UN position on conquest of land in war, was written long after Texas. Re: the conquest of land in wars - this act is illegal. Every member of the UN signed off on this, I believe.
Try this Fred ....
In a statement to the General Assembly on 15 October 1968, the PLO rejected Resolution 242, saying "the implementation of said resolution will lead to the loss of every hope for the establishment of peace and security in Palestine and the Middle East region."
However,
In September 1993, the PLO agreed that Resolutions 242 and 338 should be the basis for negotiations with ISeptember 1993, the PLO agreed that Resolutions 242 and 338 should be the basis for negotiations with Israel when it signed the Declaration of Principles.
Conrad73: What Conquest of What Land? The Land Israel is presently holding in Lieu of a Peace treaty?
Yup, for 62 years those in the disputed territories waited, and waited.
The Arabs have offered the Saudi Plan which is based on past UN resolutions - and the Palestinians (Abbas anyway) have agreed to it. What has Israel offered in response? No, no and no.
One of the the purposes of the UN is to force a resolution when the parties can't do it themselves. The UN is beginning to move in that direction as more and more countries recognize Palestine statehood within the 67 armistice lines.
The UN created Israel. So go to the UN and agree to accept the will of the body that created the state in the first place.

Are people here under instructions to post as much off-topic as possible for the original intention of this thread. Perhaps one of you should start a new thread as this has gone its course. Bring it on!

Honor thy father and thy mother.
Would you like to get back on the real point of the thread?
gininitaly: Because... guess what? It's a Big Secret. No one is supposed to talk out loud about it... hadn't you noticed?
It hasn't escaped my attention that with all the most commong conpsiracy theories, the fact that no one talks about them proves that they're a big conspiracy. Just the fact that only the most gullible people on the planet consider it common knowledge means that everyone else has been duped by the evil masterminds behind the conspiracy.
I also noticed that it's a lot easier to convince people to adopt new hate than it is to get them to abandon old, worn out hate. Try to reason with people that their bigotry isn't rational and you get nowhere at all. Try to convince someone to add a new object to their bigot-list and it's all too easy.

Now can we get back to the THREADS POINT.
I would have hoped for a link to the UN position of land conquest in war.
And yes, the Palestinian position has changed over time and the Palestine Papers reveal their recent positions and willingness to compromise. Has Israel also become more accommodative? (no, no and no
So OK, lets get back to the threads point.
The Zionists have Occupied America. They have New York and Hollywood and many smaller settlements and outposts. We are seeking the world's assistance and especially Israel. Please take them away and their lobby too. Just leave the money. We have a huge defecit to deal with.
Colleene1024: I'm still waiting to find out where the Zionists are in the US!?
Are you saying that a super power like the USA is doing what ever it takes to protect Israel and their doing, just out of pure Altruism and the goodness of their heart???
Wow_Factor: Hiding in cupboards, under beds, in the rose bushes, waiting to jump out at all the anti-semites.
Do tell. Christian Zionists aka Bible Belt red-state Republicans are the worst. On Sundays you might try looking in Church. They hide under the pews and in choir lofts. Most can't sing on key.

invinciblemuse: Could someone clarify the following for me, please:
Is someone, who objects to Israel´s politics, automatically an antisemite??
Well, since the original poster has probably got a ban I might as well answer. No, not necessarily, but an antisemite is likely to object to Israel's politics etc.

It is the singing off-key that is the greatest crime
