Your capacity to blow and the use of your mouth would surely expand the largest of expandable or inflatable objects. I now believe YOU would be the greatest asset to have on a deserted island.

I didn't insult you. I never seen you or read you before. I thought it was funny that no one else had an escape plan.
mykingdomforanam: All you're wearing is a Mylar rescue blanket? With all that other stuff tied to your body using paracord?
After designing a set of clothes I could walk from Hawaii to Maine in...
I realized that Mylar blankets are for survival; and if you travel across country with nothing else, you're not likely to ever feel warm before noon.
Since this is a short vacation and not a survival situation where I'd be leaving food behind...
My #1 pick is a bedroll/pancho that will keep you comfortable wherever you're sleeping.
My #2 pick is a tarp to keep your hammock and bedroll dry, in case it rains for a month straight (which is common on the island where I live.
My #3 pick is a hammock to that you can tie under trucks, bridges, or in trees to keep you off the ground (even though I know how to allow centipedes and cane spiders to crawl across my face without slapping them like mosquitoes.).
I love double wide sleeping bags, tarps, and hammocks!
#4 Keen Sandals
#5 Fleece pants (keep you warm if they're wet.)
4.Swim shorts, so you can wash your pants in a laundry mat.
#5. Belt
#6. Swiss Army knife
#7.light fleece long sleeve shirt
#8 A hat
#9 A backpack( to haul your gear, and the food you find.)
#10 A water bottle
#11 A lighter
#12 Stainless steel cook pot
#13 Rope
# 14 Bag of rice.
#15 Bag of beans
I can sit out a storm for 15 days with those things in comfort, with a guest, no problem.
For a long survival situation, I'd probably trade the belt, beans, and rice for things to hunt and fish with; but I've kiiled a pig with rocks, and a trophy sized goat with a Leatherman.
I don't know about you but when I get "stranded" I wear clothing and am not naked to begin with. One can make the case to carry a backpack (I didn't have 15 items yet) but the items I described I can easily wear on my belt. The mylar blanket is not for wearing around my body but for building my shelter to reflect the heat form a fire I would have in front of my shelter. I understand you live in a different climate than I do (Canada) but I think if you have to haul your gear I takes a lot of precious energy you want to conserve till you have setup camp and what I read is you assume you are stranded in an environment like you live in right now which might not be the case. As a side note if you get stranded for a long period of time I would trade that swiss army knife for a fixed blade of at least 4 inches depending on the climate, I usually carry a 5,5 inch blade with me it's a good average size
CossackCat: If you knew you would be stranded on a deserted island for one month and could ONLY take a maximum of 15 items... what would you pack?
Note: Toothbrush & Toothpaste are 2 items
emmm.....did anyone pack a spade....if so.....will you bury me......been waiting here 3 days.....13 hours.......for a glass of water/ and a takeaway......SEEMS.....someone forgot......

I was canoeing through the 10,000 Islands when a man pulled along side, and told me I should be carrying a big knife...
I explained how many years I've been carrying Swiss Army knives, and how many years I packed straight blades, and how often I use a Swiss Army knife, and how rarely I used the straight blade...
I got the feeling he had a new respect for a Swiss Army knife.
I have a real bug out bag, with more than a Swiss Army knife on my belt, and at least two different sources of fire in my pockets at all times.
But, for a 15 day vacation on a deserted island where you can only pack 15 items... I'm cool with my list.
I did notice you only listed 14 items.
Unless by fish hooks, you meant you had more than one fish hook... but no fishing line?
I always thought survival began with the clothes you're wearing; but if I could have 15 things, plus all the clothes I might need...
We can bring a cow, a pound of weed, and a keg.
That 15 days'll go by really fast; and if you'll tell me how to make toothpaste with the things on your list, you're invited to the party.

No.
You know the rules!
If we find your body on the trail, we kick your bones into the bushes, and keep your gear.

Like I said you are in a different climate than I am, and like you I carry 4 different means to make fire, 1 fero rod, 2 stormproof lighter, 3 I can make a bow drill with my knife and paracord, 4 I carry a high carbon steel blade so I can throw sparks from the blade with a piece of flint to start a fire. Oh the fishing hooks, well I can use one and as a line I use the inner strand of a piece of the paracord. The reason I said you might want to have a fixed blade is the sharpening, usually the army knife has a thin blade so it can wear out over time more real estate on a fixed blade, I usually care 2 or more knifes when I go hiking in here as well As for the cow and weed and keg, I will trow in a couple of bottles of whiskey so we can get the stories started at the campfire

BTW i forgot the toothpaste I use the charcoal of the fire, tastes awful but does the trick
One time on TV, I saw Bear Grills squeeze water out of elephant dung and drink it. So it might be a good idea to bring an elephant on to the island for drinking water.
