I eat take out so my table for one is in my lazy boy.......

In a romantic little restaurant set put for couples, then it would feel strange.
But if it were in an Asian street food place, or a pub. Then it'd be fine.

I'm like you Bear, i'm a wannabe cook and enjoy getting a good reaction from guests.I do cook for myself and eat alone sometimes but try to do everything with a bit of ceremony, even alone, a nice wine helps

I go out to lunch with my father once or twice a week. I don't really go out to eat by myself, though I have and it's definitely not awkward. In fact, I rarely feel awkward in any situation.
I'm usually with people when dining out, like family and/or friends.
More often than not, I prefer to prepare my own food, with my own hands.

Isn't it also because you don't really cook for yourself, galrads … like hardly ever … with the exception of microwaving a potato, of course. I mean, I remember when you were loudly eating those airline peanuts on the plane we both happened to, by chance, be on together. It was like you hadn't eaten in days … 
Which was exactly why I snatched them and threw them into the cockpit.
