What does it celebrate? The aim of International Men’s Day is to celebrate positive male role models and to raise awareness of men’s issues.
These include topics such as mental health, toxic masculinity and the prevalence of male suicide.
In the UK, men are three times more likely than women to take their own lives, according to emotional support charity Samaritans.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that male suicides in the UK had dropped to their lowest rate for more than 30 years.
International Men’s Day coincides with Movember, which involves men growing their facial hair in an effort to promote conversations about men’s mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
“The observances of International Men’s Day are part of a global love revolution,” says Dr Teelucksingh.
“International Men’s Day is observed on an annual basis by persons from all walks of life, who support the ongoing effort to improve lives, heal scarred hearts, seek solutions to social problems, mend troubled minds, reform the social outcasts and uplift the dysfunctional.

I think modern industry begs the question what do we need men for? And the movie Fight Club is the answer - nothing at all. Women will always have children but the man's world is proving to be so successful that it drives man out of business, every opportunity for a man to feel useful extinguished one by one unless we start believing in all of this do-gooding. No one is useless in this world who lightens the burden of another(Dickens)and what else will we have when the AI comes to town? Fate is forcing into a situation where we have to start dealing with our emotions, deal with them together.

I should win this competition easily, give me the prize now!
women invading our one and only day Let's go to somewhere else and have a locker room talking about women and mocking their stupidity Don't forget to: don't bring the Dutch cow
Being a man is indeed something to celebrate...celebrating the greatness of man is something, that no one can deny, celebrating the incredible inventions of men, that everyone benefits from....
Men have built civilisations, men have lost their lives in war on the battlefields, men have gone down with the titanic, men have been great role models and fathers, men have been great musicians, poets, athletes, actors, directors, creative writers, scientists, drivers, pilots and I may add to this list
As a man you do not need validation from women, praise from women or relationships with women...to be productive, make your mark, show others what you can do, stand out from others and be firm in your beliefs
As men we can celebrate and understand, that this day is not about women, it's not about what they want or think, this day is about men and this is a male space for men, so women will have to wait, until it is their turn and they will relish the though of another being all about them, when 363 days already are
We are the hunter, we are the strong minded and rational beings on this earth...we as men can stand up for ourselves and should never be ashamed of being born men...no amount of attempted shaming by hateful feminists and mainstream media hatred of white western men, should ever stop us from being proud and celebrating
A toast to all the free thinking men, who don't let the hateful feminists get to them and will laugh in the face of an unhinged lunatic, who can's see reality and can't control their emotions
