RE: No space anymore

There are certainly a lot of people out there I wish I had never met, and knowing I have only four more hours this year with some of these at work , it is a happy feeling!dancingsanta

RE: Mother Nature Speaks.

Hi! wave It’s a great poem, Mick<3 Very well written; nice perspective and clever rhymes, perfectly timed! applause professor It reminds me of an old song by Soundgarden, called “Hands all over” that I’ve always loved- because of the music, naturally- but, the message is poignant and ‘on point’, too. crying help head banger Cheers! cheers

Good read.

We have choices to make our past experiences motivate us or hinder us.
I chose motivation always. thumbs up

RE: Sorrow at my door

Nice poem.

"I look to the skies to find your friends.
But is just me and you locked in a sorrowful stare."

Sorrow at my door

Thank you for the comment and lovely words

RE: Sorrow at my door

Very heartfelt. Nature has a way of encroaching on your soul when one has had a great loss. We notice things more and are more sensitive to what is going on around us. Our loss slows us down so that we are more aware.

So sorry for your loss.

Even if our past experiences make us who we are we should not lose hope of what tomorrow can bring us. Every morning we wake up we have to be thankful we are able to breath in. Nice heartfelt poem dear poet...SM comfort

RE: Let me be

I don't know if you know Jimmydean, but the human body has some organs that can regenerate itself, example the liver and skin. With one liver, two lives can be saved. Each time your liver filters alcohol, some of the liver cells die. The liver can develop new cells, but prolonged alcohol misuse can reduce its ability to regenerate. The skin regenerates itself every 27 days. The only thing is that this happens in the upper layers (epidermis) but the deeper layers called dermis do not go through this process.
Just say to yourself "let me be sober"and you'll see many tomorrows....SM bouquet

RE: Infatuation.

Jockey, sometimes we don't control our lust for someone, our infatuations give away. Getting to know someone deeply takes time. Real friendship turns into something else, more durable, and real love blooms. We are not at the mercy of fate, we make it happen.

Jubilation of the rose

Wow LCBR we got you going there!, nice lines, yeah I have been to Rosehill and also to Randwick. Yeah the Golden Slipper for 2 yo's, there's a classic.

Enjoyed that Blake poem Lily but I admit I don't fully comprehend it.

Thanks for the comment Mick, yes just trying a different style.

RE: Jubilation of the rose

Typo, who cares about the history and lore?

View Poem

RE: Jubilation of the rose

And the roses of Rosehill
Will be no more,
Gentle petals drowsy
Make to weep

The green common dashed
Like a chalice to the ground
And come a few more Autumn's
No slipper will be found

And as those gentle roses
Make to weep
Suburbia encroaches more and more
But they must have a place to put the sheep
So who care about the history and lore?

Zest,

Of course the slipper is in Autumn and roses bloom in Spring, so I have an excellent metaphor - the dying of the rose
(In my poetic ecstasies, I got a little confused, so I set the record straight, here)...

RE: Jubilation of the rose

nicely written ocean
reminded me a poem of William Blake
O Rose thou art sick.
The invisible worm,
That flies in the night
In the howling storm:

Has found out thy bed
Of crimson joy:
And his dark secret love
Does thy life destroy.

RE: Jubilation of the rose

But the rose riseth next spring,
A piquant perfume pervades Rosehill,
Horses on their toes,
The two year olds do prance,
To wear that fancy slipper,
For the one who does best dance.

One day housing will cover thee,
And memories will be no more,
Who cares to cheapen history?
And at what price is the score?

Ok, ocean, roses are very poetic. You got me going with your excellent imagery

Floating Awareness

Thank You @southmiami4321
I truly enjoy sharing what I write with others, in hopes of it maybe touching or inspiring them in some way. and I like to push the boundaries of literary undestanding, lingering there, then tell stories in multiple layers. So that more can be gained with each pass through when reading it over again. And sometimes a plot twist takes us to a different form of self. Thank you for responding.

Merry Christmas ,your poem brought tears to my eyes. We’re all running around buying presents ,singing Christmas carols ,traveling around eating meals and that isn’t necessarily what Christmas is all about we need to keep other people and countries in our minds and in our prayers because there is no merry Christmas for them And we are in a troubled world and I appreciate your beautiful Thinking about everybody not about what they’re getting

Quite a cozy place to write such a story. Dillard's writing imagination kept the reader's attention.
