Oh, My Heart

Oh, my heart,
Like a town that lacks its fencing,
You defenseless, standing wall less,
Do not tell whom you are missing,
Do not stand up ‘gainst the wind,
Let it blow, soulless and idling,
Handing words round ‘long the road,
Let it not tell what it wishes,
Let it hear what it unwishes,
Do not call it, do not tell it
That you’re living, you’re alive!

All Alone

I have nobody
I am somebody
I have the heart of desire
love to live I hate to live alone
My life is empty or is it full
I wander around no place to go
or a place of my destiny
Road is dark only lit up by the moons brite
or is the stars light brite enough to guide me
Hear the wind howl trees swaying
as my truck rolls by
I come to dead end
is this the farthest I go
Bridge is out road is closed
hit my brakes
my life is at its end
the road ends the journey begins
off to the right I drive
turning on a dirt road
where will it lead
Moon lite is all I have
Kicking up dust
I leave behind
My life continues on
a dirt bumpy road
but I live on all alone
traveling down the unknown

These Days

Some days just don’t feel right inside
These days I just want to sit and hide
I can feel so high and then so low
These days my weakness does show

Everything’s fine there’s nothing that’s changed
These days I find hard to do what’s arranged
The sun has come up and I’m wearing a smile
These days that I can’t go the extra mile

No cross words have been spoken to me
These days that it’s darkness that I see
No plans have been changed, it’s all looking good
These days that I really can’t do what I should

So why does my mood change, why feel sad
These days that I so often wish I never had
Is it just me, do I think the wrong things
Theses days that its sadness my mind brings

Can sometimes go weeks without a single bad day
Then once again it’s just one of these days I will say
Not down or depressed just not feeling my best
These days that just seems like an attitude test

But if I turn it around and look the other way
These days that I’m happy with whatever they say
The rain is pouring down, no one looks happy at all
These days that I’m smiling on top of my wall

Swings and roundabouts I suppose is what it’s about
These days that I’m happy and for love I will shout
Never knowing which way any day could turn
These days to get used to I really must learn

Winter's Almost Here

The Spring then Summer of my youth, has long since turned to fall, as winter looming large conveys, I may have missed my call.

Another lonely night remains to further rub it in, and all that I have in defense is locked down deep within.

They say that time will heal all wounds I've heard a time or two, but as the clock strokes endlessly I know that it's not true.

The Spring then Summer of my youth was gone in such great haste, that I was barely cognizant and managed most to waste.

A new day's sun begins to rise and with it hopes anew, a pity tis that all my plans n'er had a chance to grew.

Another restless heart remains awake as dawn comes near, rehashing all the wasted time and thus my greatest fear,

The Spring then summer of my life has withered into fall and looming winter promises the greatest pain of all.

We each have seasons in our lives some manage to see clear and then there are the most of us who barely can adhere.

The fall then winter of my life is firmly underway, and nothing any one can do will give me words to pray.

Another quiet night invades the clamor of my thoughts, and forces me to stop and then to clarify my oughts.

Ought to have this ought to have that I shriek but no one hears, and all that's left for me to do is drown in all my tears.

The Final winter of my life is coming closer near, the bravest thing I'll ever do's embrace it with no fear.

MARCO POLO

Embedded image from another site

You came to my door as a stray
Moved into my home and heart to stay
12 Years have gone by so fast
Thinking of you today and of the past

Today you have gone to your final rest
Your pain and suffering gone at last
I will miss your bright whiskery face
Chasing through the house at a fast pace

The heavy weight on my legs or lap
Curling in a ball for a nap
Much more than just a cat to tend
For 12 years you were my best furry friend

So I lay you to rest today
Knowing I will see you on my Resurrection Day
Welcoming me with your furry face
Again laying on my lap in your favorite place

Farewell

Oh, I dread farewell long before it is bade,
It is felt as a sting, shows as mark on the face,
Feels as pain in the eyes, in the quiver of voice,
Oh, I dread farewell, wish we never have met.

If we meet any time I shall stop on my way
And pretend I am well, make a showy display.
Ask about your life, show a real concern,
You may think with regret I have come to myself.

After parting with you I will stop for a while
To recover my breath, to consider awhile,
Check myself on the point not to follow your steps,
Oh, I dread farewell long before it is bade.

Still..

Though I'll never know
the joy of your
love
Though I pine away
my years in
lonliness
Though the hope
of you is but
an old mans
dream
And though the
tears I cried
are buried in
the vault of
eternity..
I will still
love you~

Chances Come And Go And Gone

You don't get paid for broken dreams
You don't find your way alone
Life is filled with many things
And chances come and go and gone

Some get the brass ring
Some grab the bull by the horn
Life is filled with many things
And they start on the day you were born

Time keeps running and then you get old
And you feel like something is wrong
Somewhere along the way were you never told
Chances come and go and gone

Pleading

Is it not
a line
that you draw
when you blindly ignore
the pleading
that resides
deep within your mind
that has a dieing need
to touch
the fear
that you keep
when you sleep
with the hidden thoughts
that weep

Do They Not Know?

Do they not know~
These insensitive men~
Just how deeply their words
Pierce our very hearts and souls?

Do they not think?
Do they not know?
Do they not care?
That their words~
Uttered in such a glib manner,
Sometimes even followed by a chuckle,
Have hurt us so deeply.

They say things~
Warm and tender and loving things;
And then,
When we respond accordingly~
With love and caring and tenderness~
They shoot us down.

They say it was our imaginations.
They say their words were not real.
They say it was just a fantasy.

Do they not know
Or do they just not care
That their words break our hearts
And make us fearful of them~
Make us insecure about their feelings
For us?

Do they not realize
How much pain they cause us
And how many tears are shed
Because they are oblivious
To our needs?

Do they not know how badly
We crave security
In the knowledge
That they truly care?

Do they not know~
Or do they just not care?
