Announcement!

I am going to speak!
So listen here!
Hear the message loud and clear!
We all must fear!
For time is short!
There's just enough time before the final report,
The last blast,
The brightest flash,
The future colliding with the distant past,
Just a few rats left in the aftermath,
What comes after that?
What comes next?
No one knows because it hasn't happened yet!

Legend of Mara (Part XV)

As Mara grew up there were many more strange and wonderful inventions. Much too many to list here. All right just a few inventions then. Up till now wagons were pulled by goats. Mara built the first ever Goatless Wagon. How it is powered is a mystery to all except Mara. She found one day that she could split the mota and that would give tremendous power

She built a device that would harness that power she called Cimota Power. This made these wagons go at a tremendous speed. Why these wagons moved so quickly that they could go from one village to another in less time than it would take to drink a Bier. Not only could people travel in them but they could take produce to trade with other villagers.

One of the favourite things that they liked to grow in Hamburg was a vegetable that was called a Kartoffel. It was the root that was eaten. It was brown and more or less round. They could bake it, mash it, deep fry long strips of it, it was very versatile. They could also trade some of their famous Bier for goods.

Up until now there had been a communal area where the villagers went to attend to the call of nature. Now you can imagine the horrid odours that permeated anything that stayed too close for too long. It was not uncommon the come out of there and notice that people took a wide berth around you. Sometimes you even found people passed out in there. This was especially noticeable on hot days.

Mara invented little indoor rooms that were used as private call of nature rooms. The wastes were taken away by pipes and deposited into the sea. Now this invention proved to be so popular that she had to follow it up with a special room to be able to perform ablutions.

People came from all over the world to see the miracles of modern advancements. So many of them asked Mara to come to their countries to share her knowledge and skills but continually she refused to leave her beloved Hamburg. The curse had as yet not taken effect.

Mara was so beautiful that all the boys made total fools of themselves. At seventeen Mara had more poise than a woman of forty. Every time a boy tried to talk to her he would become tongue tied and blush and stammer. Although Mara would never be deliberately involved in humiliating a boy she was always mildly amused.
And of course the time had to come as time will when a boy not quite as tongue tied came along.

Legend of Mara (Part XXI)

As they arrived back at the village they were met by the villagers. All were amazed by the size of the kill. There would be plenty of meat for everyone for a long time to come. Mara scanned the hills looking for her beloved Hulderic. It was only when all the hunters were looking downcast that she suspected that there was something wrong. When she was told her cries echoed throughout the village. Many of the villagers joined her in her grief.

Still life did have to go on an there was a kill to skin and gut and prepare to smoke. Ermentrud, Gerhild and Heinrike were the three women whose position in the village consisted of preparing the kill when it was brought back. They were so experienced that they could do in an hour what would take five men two hours to do.

Quickly they prepared their instruments and began to skin the Schlange. in half an hour they had managed to completely skin it. Next they would gut it before cutting it into smaller more manageable portions. Then it would be passed on to the smokers. Deftly they slit the Schlange from head to tail and began to open it.

Their screams could be heard throughout the village and people came running from everywhere to see what the commotion was all about. None could believe their eyes and each looked to the other for confirmation. Yes it was true. Even Mara came to see what was happening and when she saw she almost fainted.

There on the ground trying to slowly raise himself to his knees was Hulderic. It was Hulderic but he was bleached white as a ghost and even his blond hair was snow white but apart from that he seemed to be fine. Mara rushed to his side and wept as she hugged him. There was joy throughout the village and there would be stories told for years as to how Hulderic cheated death. That night there was feasting like there had not been for years.

Legend of Mara (Part XXIII)

The day before the wedding all the women got together to prepare the wedding feast. As was the custom all the villagers would be there. Because it was their beloved Mara not one person would think of not attending. Even Ewald who had not left his home for the last six months due to a crippling disease would get carried to the Meeting Hall on a special chair. There was no way that he was going to miss this, the wedding of the century. The beloved Mara and the handsome hunter Hulderic the White Wolf, favourite of the Gods.

The young girls were to go to the forest to pick Fliegenpilz. That is a special mushroom that has a red head with lots of white spots. If it is not prepared the right way they can be quite deadly however the people of Hamburg had the secret recipe. Prepared that way it would give them a certain kind of feeling that can be best described as floating on air. If too much of this Fliegenpilz is consumed then the results could be catastrophic because the user could start seeing things that were not there. Once someone had that much that they thought they could fly and jumped off the cliff. Therefore the use is now strictly controlled so that can never happen again.

As the girls were foraging through the woods Floretta yelled out. She had discovered at least twenty of these prized Fliegenpilz growing under a Pine tree. There was excitement as this was almost half of what they were looking for. Quickly they gathered them together and continued to look. Mara was the next one to find four of them growing together. There might only have been four but these were of a tremendous size. Rarely were they found this large.

Gerda and Herta found one each and Kathrin found two. Mara found the last three grouped together. This they decided was enough for their needs. They were not the type of people that would continue taking more just for the sake of taking. They had so much of the day still left due to such good foraging that it was decided there was time left to gather some flowers for extra decorations. There were so many flowers that it was hard to decide which ones were suitable.

Finally they decided that it would be easier just to take a few of each and decorate that way. They filled baskets full of beautiful flowers that were so aromatic that they were almost becoming light headed. It was decided to head back so that there would be enough time left to prepare the Fliegenpilz for the celebrations.

When they arrived back they delivered the Fliegenpilz to Luitgard and Ottilie who were the experts in preparing them. They quickly set about the task. This method of preparation was an old secret that was handed down only to a select few. First they had to remove the skin leaving no trace behind. Then they had to.....Oh no I cannot reveal the secret so I will have to stop here describing it. Suffice it to say that they prepared it exceptionally well for the wedding the next day.

Legend of Mara (Part XLIII)

Day 6

Even on Mara the pace was beginning to tell. She was finding it harder to get up today than on the other days, but she knew that it was up to her to show strength and hold everything together. After all there was only one more day after today. God gave the commands to her and she had to live up to it.

Slowly she dragged herself out of bed and dressed. By the time she was ready to face the villagers it was impossible to see that she was weary of command. The only one that could tell was Hulderic and only because he was so close to her. With a deep breath she stepped outside to face the world.

Today all the personal belonging had to be loaded up. She organised people to gather their belongings together and then one by one they would bring them aboard the Kra. Mara seemed to be everywhere at once. Helping here and there, checking houses to see that everything was emptied out and nothing of value left behind.

It seemed as if all weariness had left her and she was overflowing with energy. Hulderic tried to get close to her on many occasions but Mara didn’t stop long enough for him to catch up, after all he too had many chores to complete today. That didn’t stop him from worrying though because he knew how close to the edge she was pushing herself.

Finally it seemed that everything was loaded up. Mare slowly made a tour of the village with everyone following her. Here and there she stopped to point out things to bring along. Some she thought would be useful wherever they were going while others she took purely for sentimental reasons.

Even the Meeting Hall had been dismantled and stacked in the Kra. The private dwellings were left standing where they were. Tonight all would be sleeping in the Kra. Mara had completed the task with the seventh day to spare. They would be able to rest.

AL DI LA MY LOVE

AL DE LA MY LOVE

You and I had everything calculated and planned
We were just following fate and its every command
Two souls were going to find forever in an unexpected land
And neither of us would dare to defy destiny’s demand

We were supposed to last a lifetime together no matter what
That was this man and his lady’s predetermined plot
No one could rattle our teacups or shake up the place
Not as long as two lovers had the other’s embrace

I recall adding and subtracting and then reaching a perfect sum
We were sitting on a settee having biscuits and sharing one glass of rum
We shared everything including time, smiles and each other’s past
But simply because a person says “forever” doesn’t mean it will last

Because you hit a rocky road and a curve at too great a speed
You died and I didn’t believe death could be so easily decreed
We were acting in haste while all the time we thought, devised and planned and sadly together we will never find that forever’s clandestine land

High Noon Part 1 of 2

Today was the day my bride I did wed
Promised to hang up my guns forever
Far too long I've worked here as Marshall
Amy and I will leave town today

Up they run yelling Marshall, Marshall
You'd better hurry and leave town right now
Frank Miller has gone and got outa jail
Coming to town to shoot you down

Packed was the buckboard ready to leave
My poor Amy was so scared
Please Will let's hurry, we need to go now
I don't want to see you dying

Off we started across the prairie
When suddenly I thought this I can't do
Sorry dear Amy, I have to go back
Sometimes there are things a man must do

Though Amy did plead, beg and cry
The buckboard I turned, headed back home
There I must face Frank Miller and his gang
For I could not live as a craven coward

Down by the station Frank's brother is waiting
Waiting for the train to come at high noon
Then the gang would get together
Coming to kill me, kill me stone dead

I'll go round town to form a posse
With deputies we'll sort them out quick
But they all run scared, turn their back
Left for a boy and a drunk to assist

Just left the church, had a big meeting
Deciding if help they would give to me
Thomas Mitchel summed it all up
Bad for business to have a fight in the street

I can hear the minutes tick in my head
Closer and closer to high noon
I can almost hear the train coming
My last will, I think I'd better write

Down at the station Ben and two others
Anticipating Frank's bloody revenge
Four would come to stand before me
And I would face them all alone

Everywhere I look the streets are empty
All are hiding in their cowardice
Even the judge packing scales and flag
Runs to hide from Frank's revenge

I can hear the mournful whistle
Cutting through the eerie silence
Check my guns, they're fully loaded
Today I'll stand or I will die

Standing in the mid of Main street
I can hear the train pulling in
Any minute they'll be coming
Frank and Ben and their two cahoots

Watch my Amy in buggy pass me
On her way to catch the train
Even she is leaving me alone now
Doesn't want to watch me die

Welcome to Raghokuith (Part 4)

This was just getting to be too much, all these strange things
I mean, I didn't ask to come here, after all I only just had a nap
And woke up here, well where is here? no-one tells me anything
"Come, come" said Gatang and set off to a big round central hut
I was totally unprepared for what I saw, I should have been
There were dogs dressed in green suits standing around inside
My eyes must be playing tricks on me there were fish with human legs
All sorts of different types of half animal and half human beings
Even if I had the slightest doubt that this was not my earth
Well let's just say all the doubt would be gone, vanished
As Dorothy said, "Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore"
Except I didn't think I was over the rainbow in La La land
And there was no yellow brick road, none that I could see
Definitely no nice Munchkins, just danger round every bend
"Sit, sit" said Gatang pointing at strange three legged chairs
Gratefully I sat down, the journey to here had tired me out
Next to me on my left sat Ettiemarie and Gatang to my right
All around sat the rest of the people, I have to call them people
What else could I call them, four eyed girl and orangutan
Fish people with human legs, dogs dressed in green suits
Why some of the combinations were just too hard to describe
Gatang clapped his hands and cat waiters in blue suits arrived
One by one they took orders for food and drink from the assembly
When they came to me I had no idea at al as to what to order
"Give him rambutan wine and the cold tropical fruit soup"
"Verrrry good Sirrrr" the waiter replied, sounding like purring
Before I realised the food and drink was brought out
I could wait no longer "where am I and how did I get here?"
"Not now, not now, eat and drink, after ask your questions"
I had no choice, I had to wait for my answers til after eating
Suddenly a hush fell over the place, in walked a man? snake?
Hard to tell, looked like a cobra, he sat in the lone empty chair
He gave me a stare then hissed " welcome to Raghokuith"

Wanted Dead or Alive

Wanted Dead or Alive

He rode in on an old horse of all raw bones

Trackin' this outlaw his eyes cold as stones

Faded ragged jeans and covered in trail dust

Itchy trigger finger because no one he could trust

Hard and grizzled he's a tough ugly old coot

A 44 Colt, big Bowie knife, and razor in his boot

Into the saloon he walked ready for a spoil

He said; gimme a glass and a bottle of snake oil

Everyone went silent not a word anyone spoke

Not one wishing to die so on their words they choke

He paid them no attention, not interested at all

One by one they left before his hammer could fall

The piano player played as he sat drinkin' his booze

He considered dancin' except who would he choose

Then Jill cane round swinging her hips to and fro

So he just grabbed her up and two stepin' they'd go

Rememberin' his outlaws comin', but it's getting' late

He'd come here to get him and so he just had to wait

Suddenly he heard a big fight out in the dusty street

Instantly drawing his 44 Colt as he jumped to his feet

Two steps and his shot rang out fired from behind the door

Ole Red the outlaw staggered in, saw him fallin' to the floor

It didn't go exactly go a way it should or how he'd planned

Still when the sheriff came by he said here's your five grand

That night he bought bottles and they poured drinks all around

Knowin' in the morning he'd ride out without makin' a sound

He woke feelin' good and as he rode out for fun came a cry

He spurred his horse and BANG BANG! yyyeeeehhhhiiiiii!

The Magical Realm Of Faraway

The Magical Realm Of Faraway

In a mystical land is The Magical Realm Of Faraway

A magical place of the elves were the dragons play

The dark is lit by luminous plants their glow never dies

Where winged pixies play amidst million's of fireflies

A magical place where tomorrow is never planned

Where the magic of the every day is always grand

With their scales of passion pink mixed with green

Oceans of mermaids playing sirens songs are seen

A place that values their songs as the stories are told

Written with sterling silver quills in inks of pure gold

All the day flying about on a silken silvery cloud

Where every manner of dream and dreaming is proud

There where your wishes may blow in the breeze

Candy canes for money of the realm free as you please

Where the Moon shines so full it's really bright

And around the camp fires are elf songs all night

So when you tire of the woes of the common world

Of it's bitterness, sorrows, and the hatred unfurled

And should your wish then be for a better time

In a magical realm missing hatred, fear, and crime

A world may be changed starting with a right view

And the magic starts right there inside of you

If you truly believe that magic can be done

Passing that along and changing one by one

We can change it to a magic place like Faraway

A mystical place where everyone can play

Sharing all that's good where there is no fear

Then we can all say that Faraway is right here!
