If only....

If only tears were not stinging my eyes
I might find more than just your lies
If only memories of the past would hold
I might believe the words you’ve recently told
If only the hands of time would turn back
I wouldn’t feel in a mood so black
If only we could start this over once more
Then my if’s could be thrown out the door

One Minute's Silence (A Lament For George Best)

A football stadium stands in hushed silence -
Remarkable as it is full complete.
They've gathered to watch gifts of the feet
And ponder on someone who could dispense
What must have seemed like gifts of Providence,
Who learned from kicking footballs in the street
And came to render tactics obsolete.
This man the crowd in silence now laments.
Diseased, deserter, herald of changed times -
Embarassed then that it had all gone wrong
For you who stood so high above the rest?
Forgiven by this one who always rhymes,
Poor fella, his mind simply wasn't strong
And we who love the game have lost the best.

Today

Today

I must have balled my eyes out
On my knees curled up what seemed to me
In the form of a fetus
Praying to the Almighty God
Amen Ra for forgiveness

Oh...did I call out His name loud!
Loud to myself so that I didn’t wake up my family
Damn shame that I...haven’t any shame in my............Game
To let -you - in-on- my- secrete
Watch this though
Many souls have the same secrete
But I’m the only knucklehead that’s unable to keep it...to myself

Today I cried out to God
To make me a better man
As well as a better servant
A better Baba (father) to my children
A better brother to my brother’s and sister’s of the earth!

Today I cried soooo hard til my soul could release
Release all the pain and all the hurt
I must have cried so much that I could see within
My clear teardrops that wouldn’t stop past ills and past dirt
So many tears I shed...tissue was no longer my friend
That’s when I reached out for an old beat up t-shirt

To wipe off my face and blow my nose
To get rid of all of that liquid
I cried so hard like a kid remembering
How he once had to go out and get a switch to whoop

His own butt with...yes... I ...did...call out to Him...(God)
To change my life and make me better.....faster....to get closer
To him..........stronger....cause I’m no longer able to do it by myself
I’m still a piece of work in progress and learning life lessons
Today...is...my... confession...
Today...I
Today I cried so hard....

God...

God please help me to forgive and forget
Those who hurt me so much
Bring again in my soul
The light and purity of innocence
Stolen by that man
Help me to forget
And go ahead.

Simply Good Bye

Searching for the truth amongst many lies
Which friend or foe lover or deceiver
My heart broken beyond repair good bye
I kept wanting to turn the lie to truth

Looking into the mirror not at me
Different shapes different sizes nothing changed
A slight trick of the hand now you don't see
Magic trickery just an illusion

The curtain closed then opened all were gone
No closing bow no standing ovation
No illusion just me standing alone
A simple curtsy from a mere lady

The lights dimmed the room darkened then silence
Clarity became seen then all made sense

About this poem:
Sometimes in life you have to except what you want to be true does not make it true. One day one might realize they are sitting in a room full of strangers. Kindness goes a long way life. Remember in life you are what you eat. You are what you put into your self. If you put love and kindness into yourself then that is what you will be, so if you find yourself feeding negativity into your life the sensiable thing to do is make changes if it is not where you want to be. Love to all.

just incase....

Just incase...
the world should end. I've made a few friends, Some relationships came and went. Some, endured to the very end. Other relations could not mend. No animosity, to any of them. It's just life, how things begin & sometimes end.
Just incase...
the world should end. I don't have alot of worldly possession's, to attend. Just some earthly aquirements, attained along the way. Physical attachments, that Will astray, when my life has withered away.
Just incase...
the world should end. I hope one-day we meet again. This flesh embodied, we do not own. It's just a vehicle, that transports the soul. Until it find's a place, to go.
Just incase...
the world should end. I need to say one more thing. I need to let you know, how much I truly cared. How sometimes my own ignorance, ruined the love, I could have shared. Sometimes my fears, shattered my faith. How I've often struggled, to find the right words to say
Just incase...
the world should end, please know, I will always love you till the end..

You and I

You and I
Alone inside
An empty room
Watching the rose in the vase
On the windowsill die
Watching the moon in the sky
Disappear behind a cloud

Body spirits coincide
Eye to eye touching view
There's only one of you
Who understood my mirror eyes
When you sang it made me cry
For I thought I'd found paradise
But we cannot live for always
I had to leave

Gaining a love for you
Was like walking through the door of one-ness
I was drawn to you like a reflecting image
I loved you
I saw the turmoil
I saw the pain
I felt the evil person inside of you
You were my dreamtime
Those dreams came at a price
No more
I have awoken from this dream
Now I can dream my own dreams

PEACE

Its actually crazy
How things slowly become hazy
Its cool
I've been there, been that fool
But now its all done
I'm smiling again and feel whole even with no-one

I'm finding my feet
Bit shaky but I'm stable and concrete
Im not sorry for letting go
It was best before you become my foe
I'm ready to be out there again
Just a pity you choose not be a friend

About this poem:
This poem is about me - letting go and getting peace after a divorce - no anger no hatred no blackmail just contentment and peace within.
Although my ex wants absolutely nothing to do us (me and the kids) - we embraced the situation and moving forward - wishing him good luck with his future.

Picture

Platonically strictly speaking words that poor through eyes,
The ash cloud covers the beaming lights that envoke the spirit.
Sun erupts from the mind echoed across the lonely tide pool,
Vanishing upon a willow tree flower.

A camera is seen but not found,
Searching for the beacon of hope.
Pictured above a couch of silience,
The witness studies the book.

Clinging to a sunken ledge,
The traveler carries the torch home.
Bringing joy of fans crowding the streets,
Journey Away Entertains Many Concepts.

A land to port heart sits by the fire,
Hugging a daisy holding a bacon table cloth.
Eyes look past the smoke and see what a dream can brew,
Evening once had may never come true.

THE PROVERBIAL MONKEY

For decades he has been in prison in his own mind
His past haunted him, smiles left behind
Emotionally tormented, several months locked away
Negatively affected his career and health, the price he pay

Frequently traveling overseas
Fraudulently using aliases
A gifted artiste that sings
Fled what drug sentence brings

No more evading authorities he outline
Extradition contest he decline
Did the crime, serve the time, gained knowledge
Now he’s busy signaling his crossing of the bridge

Singing Nah go a Jail again
He strongly proclaim
Ready to get his singing career back on track
So relieved that the proverbial monkey is off his back
