LIE

I will lie to your face, if I see:
Your shoulders, broad though they are,
Cannot handle more pain.
I will lie to your face, if I see:
That the burden you carry,
Is more than you can handle.
I will lie to your face, if I see:
The tears that fall down your face,
Cannot be erased.
I will lie to your face, because I SEE.
I care, as you can tell.
I will lie to your face, because sometimes,
Just sometimes, the LIE itself, is another way
To take you away from the horrors you face,
Never alone, never without courage,
But because, sometimes,
Just sometimes, you need that LIE
That I can SEE will bring a smile to your lips,
A laugh to your heart, a moment of peace
To your soul.

the void

Drifting into the lives
seep into the soul where emotions hide
dark skies were beating me down
with shadows of deceit slashing at
trust till it forever bleeds
with doubt, with pain, with trust
is pain.
When it's time to feed to fulfill
the need to consume a breath
some will rise standing tall
breathing out all the breath from
the voice of a soul.
Acid, the tears of remorse
flow in vain, too late for regrets
save it
for the next ill fated game.
When it's time to feed to fulfill
the need to consume a breath
some will rise standing tall
breathing out all the breath from
the voice of a soul.

The Sort of Friend

The Sort of Friend
I'd like to be the sort of friend that
you have been to me;
I'd like to be the help that
you've been always glad to be;

I'd like to mean as much to you
each minute of the day
As you have meant, old friend of mine,
to me along the way.

I'd like to do the big things and
the splendid things for you,
To brush the gray from out your skies
and leave them only blue;

I'd like to say the kindly things that
I so oft have heard,
And feel that I could rouse your soul
the way that mine you've stirred.

I'd like to give you back the joy
that you have given me,
Yet that were wishing you a need
I hope will never be;

I'd like to make you feel as rich as I,
who travel on
Undaunted in the darkest hours with you to
lean upon.

I'm wishing at this time that I
could but repay
A portion of the gladness that
you've strewn along my way;

And could I have one wish this year,
this only would it be:
I'd like to be the sort of friend
that you have been to me.

~~~~~~Yeah Poet is Back ~~~~~~~
Ding Dong! As I have to gasp, swallow
I feel as hollow as….
My heart races, I look down at who I see here in poet corner~
it is him… [“Mr. Poetnumber1!”]
my smile goes very big~~~~
I do not know why I could not stop thinking ‘bout you
Maybe it is the things you say, the way you do, what you do here in poet corner~~
When you were away, thoughts of you persistently taunt my mind
I am like a friend searching for a remedy of your poetry to be found.
Ding Dong! Gasp, swallow
Close my eyes and took a deep breath
“hey it, poetnumber1 how you been…
”Wow, how surprising as…
I respond “nothing much my poet friend.”
Minutes, hours, trying to pass the time you were away~
watching my screen closely for a sign you would log on today~~
Seems my only reality in this computer-generated space
is planning, plotting, negotiating…feels like an endless chase.
It is a place, with no more than many thoughts~~
These thoughts…desires…cravings, make me a sinner
Your words at their finest…
Hum, pleasure for the mind
to learn more of you,
Each thought another motion of picture from your write~~~
It is all about you
fun pleasure, virtual yet so real
It is all about your thoughts of the many words as to~~
The way your words make me feel
It is all about poem’s all written here
The fantasies so sweet
like honey dripping from the keys
My eyes crave a treat when I read your next write.
Ding Dong! Gasp, swallow
A flash across the screen
“hey, how you been”
I think a bit then startle, not knowing what to say.
I pause, breath a moment,
He’s back…yeah! It is
I smile, position myself, place my fingers on the keys
Time to write a~~~~~
THE CONNECTION
SOMETIME TO ME YOU ACT SO INSECURE
OF ME YOU SEEM SO UNSURE
TO ME YOU ARE EVERYTHING A MAN SHOULD BE
THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO MAKE YOU SEE
SWEET UNSELFISH AND KIND
PUTTING UP WITH ME YOU DON'T SEEM TO MIND
YOU HOLD MY HEART IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND
I HOPE ME ADMITTING THIS MAKES YOU FEEL SO GRAND
WE BOTH ADMIT WE FEEL A CONNECTION
AND I HOPE WE GET TO HON THIS FEELING TO PERFECTION
WE HAVE BOTH BEEN HURT BEYOND BELIEF
BUT IN EACH OTHERS ARMS I HOPE WE FIND RELIEF
ONE DAY I HOPE YOU WILL NOT BE SO INSECURE
AND JOIN ME IN BEING SURE
The 19th of October
Wood sheds its dress of crimson red,
Frost coats with silver withered fields,
Day shows its face as if against its will
And hides itself behind a hillside edge.
You, fire ablaze, in my secluded cell,
And you, oh wine, a friend of autumn cold,
Pour into soul sweet poison of all days
For brief oblivion of bitter thoughts.
I am so sad, no friend sits by my side,
With whom I’ll wash long parting down,
Whose hand I’ll shake with hearty laugh,
Whom I could wish so many years to last.
I drink alone; in vain imagination mine
Calls out for friends to come for brief respite;
No sound of their approach, familiar strides,
No longer is my soul in wait for dearest one.
About this poem:
Alexander Pushkin wrote this poem when living in exile on the 19th of October – the day when his former lyceum friends marked the anniversary of graduation, in appreciation of their cordial friendship. I have translated only two stanzas of a long poem, dedicated to friendship.
Cheer up!
Try something new instead of the same old same old
find a idea and of it just grab a hold
and break out of your mold
Instead of always being sensible
try being a little maniacal
Live a little bit
and get out of your pit!
Try something different and rare
and you just might find your self dancing around like Fred Astair!
The gift of warmth
To all the people that live
I would like to give
The gift of warmth
To the homeless person a blanket to keep them warm
Also the assurance they will come to no harm
To the abandon dogs I would like to give them a home
So in the gutters they no longer have to roam
To every lonesome soul
Who life has been a toll
I would like to give them a hug
And warm coco in a mug
The gift of warmth don't have to cost much you see
just a warm smile is all you need
Happiness Cake
Take three spoonfuls of humility
then add a pinch of pride
a cupful of your kindness
and shake it all inside
Loving spoonfuls of your tenderness
wrapped in a caring heart
throw in some salty teardrops
and let the mixing start
Let´s think of more ingredients to tantalise our tongues
like forgiveness, hugs for healing , kisses sealing, heartaches gone
Joined together we create a union that is sure to give us bliss
filling up those empty spaces which I know we will not miss
Divide each precious portion into tiny souls that wait
for the warmth that will surround them as they enter through the gate
They´ll swell to such proportions that you never would imagine
and taste so sweet it makes you weep to feel your joy a´catchin
Savour every mouthful taken
each day when you arise
share it with the folks around you
and you´ll see it in their eyes
They´ll appreciate the time you took
to produce this wondrous fare
relishing that you chose each one
and let them know you care
Sermons
We all do it.
preach to others, tell them what to do.
Or should be doing.
After all what are friends for.
Do we do as we say?
Opinionated words can be as worst,
As any other plague.
Be careful,
speak helpful,
Sweet words in case you have to eat them!
