Allow me

Allow me to close my eyes,
So I see nothing.
Allow me to clear my mind,
So all I hear is you.
Speak softly,
Speak freely,
Not of love,
Nor of passion.
Speak of you,
The every day you.
Allow me to hear
What makes you smile.
What burdeons you carry
That saddens you.
Allow me to hear
What stirs your passion
Or inflames your anger.
Allow to me to hear all!
Hold nothing from my mind.
Share all you want to share,
Share because you want to share.
Allow me to close my eyes,
So I see nothing.
Allow me to clear mind,
So all I hear is you.

About this poem:
Can any poet out there give a reason why they write something? Mine
is because I felt it!

A ring is round.

A ring is round and has no end
And that’s how long I’ll be your friend.
After the grass is all gone,
Upon this earth we walk on.
After the seas have all run dry
And there are no more clouds left in the sky.
I’ll stand by you
Through and through.
Cause that’s the best thing
A friend can do.

Portrait of a Friend

"Portrait of a Friend"

I can't give solutions to all of life's problems, doubts,
or fears. But I can listen to you, and together we will
search for answers.

I can't change your past with all it's heartache and pain,
nor the future with its untold stories.
But I can be there now when you need me to care.

I can't keep your feet from stumbling.
I can only offer my hand that you may grasp it and not fall.

Your joys, triumphs, successes, and happiness are not mine;
Yet I can share in your laughter.

Your decisions in life are not mine to make, nor to judge;
I can only support you, encourage you,
and help you when you ask.

I can't prevent you from falling away from friendship,
from your values, from me.
I can only pray for you, talk to you and wait for you.

I can't give you boundaries which I have determined for you,
But I can give you the room to change, room to grow,
room to be yourself.

I can't keep your heart from breaking and hurting,
But I can cry with you and help you pick up the pieces
and put them back in place.

I can't tell you who you are.
I can only love you and be your friend.

Off the cliff.

It's different.
I don't know what i feel.
Like a safety net in place.
So scared...
but he catches me.
He's watching me...
See's me,
like the one I lost.
I feel connected,
my hearts breaking.
I want so much.

Its different.

beautiful things are outside your door

he ran his hand across the ancient wood
closed his eyes and opened his mind and heart
"What lays within?" he thought
feelings of deep strength and beauty, kindness, surrounded his air

as he chiseled to create the precious first carved line
a new life of expression was born
"yes" he thought, "I shall create now, what is within"

feeling the gracefully carved lines, after every one is delicately carved
all with meaning, a thread of love, passion, happiness
"with passion and aroha I shall pour" he thought

when he finished his master piece of pure beauty
he smiled and tenderly sat back to admire
"oh yes! one can still love and express, when my love is so afar"
He thought

He closed his eyes
smiled
and
thought

"For you my beautiful friend"

About this poem:
My inspiration came from my uncle who is a beautiful carver in NZ.
Seeing his carvings, I was inspired to write this poem for a friend, I have met from far away.

Hope

Hope

Did you know that you touched my heart while I was reaching for your hand?
As I was talking to you and not remembering the things we said I lost my defense.
Standing there with the foolish grin upon my face I had eyes for only you; was there anyone else?
The more I heard, the quieter the room seemed to get, or was that just my focus?

And every day as I get up in the morning I think of you as sit up and rub out the sand
As I work through the day, handle my job and each of the things I must do with finesse
Those around me see and notice, even if they have no idea what or why; and I contain my happy yells
And all this, these happy thoughts and times, me with my stupid grin, without you in my locus.

How to bring this to be a permanent condition, to bring you to this place of happiness you gave?
How can I find your point of joy and entice you to live the rest of your life with me?
I tremble some as I envision the future I see spreading before my wondering and so happy eyes.
How to share this dream with you and spark the desire I wonder, fear, and think I see buried within

I long to hold you in my embrace, to shelter you from all that stands against you; my life to save.
You evoke within me a tenderness I am bemused to say I have never felt, don’t you see?
Yet, I wonder, how can I gain your attention, to take your mind from all those other guys…
Unsure of each step I take, unfamiliar as each may seem, with you I long this journey to begin.

I was eating cornflakes for two days, "Sydney"

"Its been along time coming"

The march was a happening thing,
word got out
they walked, they rode, they drove
they just had to get there

such a long time ago

Got to speak out, one said,
if you dare to come

and they walked up country
unaware to the world

Changed the world, it did!
they gathered, they finally could unite

walls set in place, within an aching world of youth
they had to come down,
stripping that era of its comforting shell

Its been a long road
and what better way,

"Hang on a minute, I have my own opinion,I shall voice"

and they descended
Reflecting on the times
should thoughts be amended?

"Something is wrong"
So they marched

The music played
"for three days man"!

The world was in need of this happening

from the thought that was ignited
to challenging the anguish
to what carried forth from it

what was internally born
that it would indeed, in many ways, show the world

change

Without War

We as one can live with the present or change it

QUOTE
"And the kids were wonderful,
this thing was too big , too big for the world" Sydney

As much as we journey, we must "know" we are on a journey, it makes things much more clearer.

About this poem:
Sydney was the man that contracted his land out to the woodstock festival. Very cool for back then! (He took risks)
There were so many people there he couldn't leave his land to go into town, so he lived on cornflakes for 2 days.
What better way, with all that background music.....

Single

We are sitting at the local cafe.
Drinking beer.
Talking life away.
Laughing at our little "in" jokes.
So different we are.
One likes to stay in.
One likes bars.
No rush to get home.
That's how it is when your all alone.
I am settled now playing my cards.
No rush to move on just enjoying the moment.
Life can be hard,
But it always seems to have these times.
I feel relief to know
even though
All my dreams were crushed.
There is a rainbow after the rain.
I made it thru.
Walked thru the dark.
Lived with the pain.
This might not be what I had in mind.
When I dreamed my life as a little girl.
But I know that I will be fine.
I can still have a good time.
In this life that is called mine.
