Best Friend

You are my smile when I feel down.
You are my company when nobody is around.

You are my laugh when I want to cry.
You are my strength when I want to die.

You are my medicine when I'm unwell.
You are my secret keeper when I have something to tell.

You are my cushion when I need to rest my head.
You are my saviour when my hope is dead.

You are my eyes when I can't see.
You are my ears because you listen to me.

All of this stuff makes you my best friend.
I hope this is how it stays until my end.

When you feel there's nobody to do this for you,
Please contact me because I'm your friend too.

A Wonderful Woman!

Deserving of more than she will ever see.
Offering everyone she knows, respect and honesty.
Natural and smart she is, for all to admire.
No one will ever be as wonderul as you to desire.
Always so pretty, charming, and ever so true.
! God made a special woman in you.

barfly girl - alabama football's No. 1 fan

she phones me daily
in the middle of the night
loves coffee and bailey's
and sometimes coors light
such a mystery lady
always heard, seldom seen
her favorite expression
"you know what I mean?"
her mercurian mood swings
just keep me guessing
if she's in a good one
I call that a blessing
but if she's in a bad one
I run for the hills
to find liquor myself
and a number of pills
she sure knows her football
she hangs on each play
should 'bama be losing
stay out of her way
unless you enjoy
a big, bloody nose
'tis best to be silent
and stay on one's toes
but when they are winning
she laughs and she cries
"that's what I'm talkin''bout baby
just roll on tide"
her many admirers
with her try to flirt
of crimson and white
they give her t-shirts
it doesn't look good boys
best run home to mother
seems her beloved 'bama's
just lost to another

With These Wings...

i fly, nestled in the security of my solitude,
for up here, no one can touch me at this altitude...
the clouds my playground while stars light my night,
wondering what the earth below does beneath my sky...

with these wings...

i soar, in my never ending canopy,
drawing life from the warmth that the sun has handed me...
safe above your earthly fears and all that kills you slowly,
free of all the hate and anger that you have always shown me...

with these wings...

i glide, not bound by greed or wealth,
all i do is fly, only worried about my health...
up here isn't heaven, but neither is it hell,
but its probably safer than down there i can tell...

with the wings...

i drift, happy in my clouds,
but how can i be happy, when i can't stop looking down...
longing to be amongst the crowd that call this earth a home,
instead of in my world of clouds, constantly alone...

with these wings...

between my fingers, stretched beyond their limits,
torn from flesh and cast aside, i can finally end this...
falling fast and gaining speed, i let my eyes slide shut,
for i'd rather be here on the ground, with my friends as we look up...

with these wings...

i'll give a feather to everyone that i would call a friend,
to remind you all that it was you, who made this world worth living in...

About this poem:
I was up late night and stressed out about all the fake people in my life. After a few seconds I got over it and deleted about 80% of the people in my friends list on myspace. After seeing I was down to a handful of people I considered real friends along with a few bands I liked, this poem came to me. So I sent it to all of them along with GIF of some feathers falling.

The friendship

The one who began this chase
Is no longer running,
He has slowed to a walk.
He is prepared to give up.

I tease.
I banter.
I tempt him.

But he is strong willed.
He won't be hurt again...

But why the chase in the beginning?
Why set the desires free?
Why even begin a chase,
When it is so easily given up on...

So now I am am running alone.

I skip.
I hop.
I playfully jig.

But when I look back
-He isn't even watching...

He has given up,
Before it even had a chance to begin...

He has stopped,
Before we had the time... the opportunity...

So I turn and follow him.

His rejection hurts.

His pain is so vivid that I am scared...

I do not want to be hurt either...

So carefully,
Without touching.
Without words.
Without emotions.

We walk.

Side by side.

Knowing that there will always be 'this'

The friendship.

Just smile

When times are tough
and things go wrong,
Just hold your chin high
and sing a song.
When friends aren't around
and your feeling down,
Keep yourself busy
and hold your ground.
You have no time to get things done,
Just relax and have some fun.
You failed at a job,
you gave it your best.
Just make time
and give yourself a rest.
You're so unsure and can't decide,
Just go with the flow
and ride the tide.

Definition

An old life left behind
what new shall this one bring

Friends are defined
as an ever-loving thing

College life i am bound
to be what i can be

My new definition is found
I shall work at it and see

With many years to go
My dreams are to come true

I will not go with the flow
for i am strong; and life is new

The Bible

For all religious people,do not take offence at this poem.
The bible its just a fairy tale
That so many people will often believe
When at times they become so lonely beyond all reality
But the bible its just a story with no real truth to be told
And so just forget all about those fairy tales
From now so long ago
For all life itself its really for living
Just like all those others do now every day
And so don't go wasting another second
When you feel the need to pray
For all time its oh so precious
With your whole future now in store
And so now step outside while you are still alive
And then live your life once more
For each new tomorrow its not so far away
And so put that bible down
And then reach out for all of that fun
That's now forever all around
For no one knows just what might be
And so live your life to the full
For no matter how many times you pray each night
No one will hear your call
And so throw away that bible
That you have now read for so many times before
And then dance to all of that music
While you are on the disco floor
For its only then that you will meet that someone
With a very special love to share
And so now stop all of your praying
That just won't get you anywhere
For the bible it cannot give what you really need
No matter how many times you pray
And so now step outside while you are still alive
And then live your life each day.

Call My Name

So call my name in times of grief.
No, do not wait till all is lost,
Lost there beneath the winters frost.
For in the night there comes a thief,
To reap your soul just like a sheaf;
Your protests then they will exhaust,
So call my name.

For I will keep your waiting brief;
While catching what you've lightly tossed,
Upon the ground to pay the cost;
I vow to you this true relief,
So call my name.
