Weather The Storm

Before the storm a cold, cold breeze,
Begins to show its power.
The clouds all black and water filled,
Will burst within the hour.

And in the distant darkened sky,
There comes a flicker of flashing light.
And far off sounds that rumble and crack,
Thunder answers with all its might!

And that gray space between ground and black,
Too strong to call a shower,
Will soon be here to drench and soak,
The ground that now bears flower.

Now it nears and drops do fall,
First gentle then with full force.
The storm, it makes its pathway known,
Staying persistently on its course.

When all has past, all calm and clear,
And the sky is bright with sun,
A beautiful rainbow just might appear.
God's promise, 'tis all said and done!

Hallelujah

its all shaking down
the leaves on the trees
the smell of smoke
on a summer breeze
when there isn't mercy
there to please
all love is lost
like the winter freeze
like castaways
on seven seas
life's lonely lot
in minor keys
Hallelujah

Words of wisdom..*

There is power,
there is wisdom,
as well as restoration,
enthusiasm, solutions, insperation, percerverance,
still the best thing is trust.

Truth, trust, respect,
that is what one needs,
however never forget the main word is please,
love is always there,
care, share and prevail,
if it falls apart just say thank you from the heart.

never forget the power,
you should never lose,
wisdom can be yours,
be carefull how you use it,
restoration you can gain,
if you let it in your brain,
seek out the enthusiasm, find a solution, always look for someone to give you insperation,
but always believe in self~perserverance....

The Feast

Have you ever watched a crescent moon tiptoe cross the sky
or sang in haunting harmony with the nightbird as she flies?
Have you tasted every color of the rainbow's lofty hues
or reveled in the raindrop's kiss?
or drank of morning dew?

Have you listened to the dawning morn streak across the sky
or touched the pristine majesty of a single butterfly?
Have you ever danced with a shooting star in the silence of the night
or ridden on a moonbeam?
or drank of sweet moonlight?

Have you broken past the darkness?
have you soared above the light?
Have you gone beyond the boundaries?
have you feasted on delight?

The Best Christmas Gift

I've received many Christmas gifts through the years
Stretch Armstrong, Evil Kenievel motorcyle are memories of happy tears
Toss Across, Light Bright, Lawn Darts, Battleship, and a tape recorder
A weight bench and a stereo with record player, 8-track, tape were in order
A majic set, metal ball space game, a dart gun
Having someone to play with all these things would have been more fun
If I had a wish now is the time with someone to play with all these things
Because the best Christmas gifts is a friend and the joy it brings

Winter Come

Flocks on Winter wing have flown
to skies where Summer's sun was blown.
In voices high their prises sing
of joys the southern breezes bring.

Withered sails on sky blue seas
catch the wind and leave the trees.
In Autmn's maelstrom churn and sift
till weighing anchor in the rift.

Frost on aster's rusting bloom
in crystal scripture foretells gloom.
From frozen blight the petals fend
that only April may amend.

Furry friends in frantic flury
from tree to shrub do scuttle and scurry.
With bulging cheeks to hollows run
for sleep is nigh as Winter come.

What Women Want

A group of girlfriends on vacation,
Find a five story hotel with a sign that reads,
"For Women Only Destination,"
And decide this will serve their current needs.

A good looking bouncer at the door,
Explains to them how the hotel works,
They can choose to stay on any floor,
If they are happy with that floor's perks.

So they go to the first floor but in vain,
For a sign there written in large text,
Says,"All the men here are short and plain,"
They laugh and move up to the next.

The second floor's sign still presents a problem,
And just doesn't satisfy their desire,
The men here are only short and handsome,
So they decide to move to a floor higher.

The third floor's sign reads that the men are tall and plain,
They still want better and with two floors left,
They decide there could be much more to attain,
Surely the next floor won't leave them bereft.

On the fourth floor the sign is more exciting,
All men here are tall and handsome for sure,
They start to go in, it is so inviting,
But wonder what they'll miss on the fifth floor.

They move to the fifth floor and read the sign,
"There are no men here," it states with caution,
For the floor was built only to define,
That there is no way to please a woman!

Be careful of what you ask for...

God’s Wisdom is like nothing else that man has ever known and certainly His Brilliance, for us has set the tone.
Great is my angst and wonderment when after prayer
I wait, to see what my dear God decides should truly be my fate.

My God knows how to make a joke, and enjoys every bit
Of humour that He gets when He makes use of His great wit.
I asked for patience and I hoped that all would soon be well,
But lo! The challenges God sent made me feel I’d gone to hell.

Should I not know the tests He gives are how He answers prayer,
Yet how could I learn patience well, if not by trial and error?
I asked the Lord to bless me with more work to earn more pay.
For I had many things to buy, and to pay for everyday;
And once again He sent my way a chore to undertake –
The bounty that He blessed me with was not for my own sake.
For He wanted me to know that when He blesses me with same
It’s for me to share with others, and to glorify His name.

So when you pray and ask the Lord be careful what it’s for;
Don’t think He hasn’t heard your call, if troubles you endure.
And you wonder what He’s doing, when you’re faced with more distress -
Just be careful what you ask for, ‘cause there just might be a test.

About this poem:
God's own Will for us always supersedes what we want for ourselves, so we need to be mindful of that when we ask, and wait, for His response.??

Vanishing

I dance with the wind
like a broken leaf
swirling in gusts of joy.
Indian summer turns
a thin thread,
and autumn comes to my heart.
Color palette,
fog in the meadows at
dawn in the morning
and nostalgia and some regrets
that time passes
that I will not stay
