Snowy mountain

White and cold from the faraway land
You stand high and bold without end
The wind and the the sun come to touch your lovely peak
Eventhough they sometimes come in shriek

Oh... what beautiful mountain you are
You are not that far...
you always make us feel high
Eventhough we can not fly

The sakura trees are on your feet
They line where i usually meet my pete
And we walk together by the river bank
And watch your snowy peak while i am thinking about pete's money in the bank

Ukraine

Putin's on the border
110,000 at the order
bristling with their military
it isn't very salutary

By the end of Feb we'll know
if Zelensky has to go
its not a pleasant show
this road to overthrow

Take defensive actions
hit them with the sanctions
there'll be multilateral reactions
and multi-country factions

Its because of NATO forces
a growing pack of horses
unnerves the Russian bear
and brings him from his lair

About this poem:
Things are looking dire in Ukraine, military surrounds the country, even subs in the Black Sea.
Talk of millions of refugees if the Russians invade, right in the middle of winter, how will Europe deal with this one?

For the Isolated

For again the night is moving slow
and many a poet is cursed to know
In the room the women come and go
Talking of Michelangelo

In tenement buildings and boarding rooms
lie men who dreamt of being grooms
Have known evenings, mornings, afternoons,
measured out their lives with coffee spoons

But onwards as we surely try
to flower and bloom before we die
Let us go then, you and I,
When the evening is spread out against the sky

Fame and Stardom

Attainment of success, stardom and fame
Remains the ultimate dream of many
Who seek the publication of their name
Upon the future pages of history

The journey to such a destination
Requires effort and dedication
Those who at last gain such recognition
Enjoy a well deserved satisfaction

Some celebrities who make this journey
Find coping with this new life can be rough
There's an invasion of their privacy
And the demands of stardom can be tough

They then turn to some drug to ease the stress
Whether it's alcohol or other stuff
Soon their entire life can become a mess
And dealing with it's pressures can be rough

Bouts of anxiety and depression
Are what they have to endure constantly
Some develop a serious addiction
That may lead to suicidial tendency

Women tend to choose a gentler ending
Like drug overdose or a means that's neat
Some may opt to end it all by hanging
Mindful not to mess up the body sheath

Some men go for a violent ending
By putting a bullet through their own head
Others jump off a bridge or tall building
Seeking to ensure that they will be dead

Those aspiring to fame and stardom
Pursue your dream and goal diligently
Just be mindful of how things can become
And seek to be guided accordingly

LOVE OF LIFE

Life itself is bigger than any love affair
The magic of being in love may disappear
One partner may become tired of what both share
Leaving the other in a sad state of despair

If you are one with love that is still enduring
Please be thankful each day for what you are sharing
If the love you once shared has come to an ending
Though it may not be easy please stop your crying

The price you are now paying with your suffering
Is not worth someone who is no longer caring
So just wipe away all those tears and start smiling
Lift your head up and see the sun is still shining

Listen to the birds and you will hear them singing
Look at a sunset and enjoy what you're seeing
Feel the glorious warmth of the sunshine on your skin
Enjoy fully the wondrous beauty of living

Even though life may not be peaceful as a dove
Here is something you should always mindful of
Love of life is more precious than all other love
Grasp this sacred treasure with blessings from above

Clouds and Sunshine

Fluffy white clouds floating up in the sky
Against a background of celestial blue
Changing their shapes as they meander by
Creating a most magnificent view

The moving shapes are edged with wisps of mist
As they sail on unhurriedly on high
Coruscating in their milky whiteness
Against a brilliant sunshine lighted sky

The Wheel Of Life

The wheel of life keeps turning every day
Birth, life and then the subsequent decay
All living things must return whence they came
The pattern always remaining the same

All living things start life's journey at birth
Become adult through the process of growth
They then participate in reproduction
Thus creating the next generation

Life then continues daily in this world
Until old age and illness take their toll
Lastly, all must face death's reality
That brings a final end to life's journey

The wheel goes through a full revolution
With each and every new generation
Whatever is alive will someday die
This will surely happen as time goes by

ChatGPT writes a poem

In the gentle whispers of twilight's embrace,
Where love's fervor finds its sacred place,
I long to serenade you, my cherished desire,
In verses that set my soul afire.

Like the sea's relentless dance with the shore,
Our love entwines, forevermore.
In your eyes, I find celestial realms,
Where passion ignites and the heart overwhelms.

Your lips, a tapestry of unspoken words,
Unveiling secrets that the universe affirms.
With each tender touch, a sonnet unfurls,
In the language of love, our souls are immersed.

Your laughter, a melody of joyous delight,
Resounding through the depths of the night.
With every smile, a thousand stars ignite,
Guiding me through love's celestial flight.

As the moon weaves its silvery threads,
Our love blooms in radiant shades and reds.
In your arms, I find solace and reprieve,
A sanctuary where our spirits believe.

Together, we wander through fields of dreams,
Where passion flourishes in nature's schemes.
In the fragrant embrace of blossoming flowers,
Our love unfurls with transcendent powers.

Like a river that finds its way to the sea,
Our souls merge in harmonious decree.
In the vast expanse of love's infinite hue,
I am bound to you, and you to me, too.

So let us dance to the rhythm of desire,
Igniting flames that never tire.
In the style of Neruda, our love shall sing,
A symphony of hearts, forever entwining.

Birds that never flew

Sometimes on a summer
when the skies are blue
I think about those childhood friends
the birds that never flew

Dead and gone by accident
sicknesses we knew
I only hope they're growing tall
on some sweet avenue

Things that go clunk in the night

footsteps on the cobbles
scarecrows in the night
where spiders reign and serpents hiss
and fleshy things turn white
where vampires love the darkness
and werewolves crave moonlight
the ghoulish things go ting-a-ling
to the monsters great delight
but all the little children
of whom I have to write
stay fast beneath their covers
safely out of sight
