RE: Apologize

I am happy to see you back on the blogs. :) thumbs up

The Pursuit of Happiness

Hello Ek,

I must admit, I have never read any of his books. :( But, I did listen to many of his CD's and watched over 40 hours of his videos on the internet. Not to mention, how many times I re-listened and watched them. What I have found with his teachings is that once you understand what he is trying to say, it is not that difficult of a concept. However, make what he is trying to say a part of you, that takes a long time.

We are conditioned ever since birth to perceive things differently and to change a part of that, takes a little patience and a little reference checking once and a while. :)

Thank you for your post.

The Pursuit of Happiness

Hello KN,

You bring up a good point there. Happiness, I suppose, could be derived from something external....as long as you understand its nature. Hmmm, that is worth giving some thought to.

Thank you for bringing that perspective up.

The Pursuit of Happiness

Hello Wallops,

Yes...exactly. Happiness is a state mind. Since everything externally is always moving, or coming and going...to put our happiness within something like that will only lead us to unhappiness somewhere down the road. :)

I hope you had a great day/night also.

Thank you for your post.

The Pursuit of Happiness

Hey Robert,

It is also like that...I suppose old...Creed song, My Own Prison...I think that is the title.

Thank you for your post. If I would have known you were up at that ridiculous late time, I could have popped on some coffee for us. grin

beer ....or served you a beer. laugh

The Pursuit of Happiness

Hello L.L.,

I think you put it perfectly, "change is what allows us to grow." And yes, it is very difficult for some....or perhaps many. :)

Thank you L.L.

The Pursuit of Happiness

Thank you Zeu. I am happy to hear you liked it. I almost didn't post it because I knew I would have been unable to tend to it until later.

I appreciate your response.

RE: risks of being true: win or lose?

Good stuff Minnie. thumbs up After reading it....you just made me scan my mind to make sure there were no self-deceptions going on. :)

Did I find any? I don't know....maybe I am deceiving myself here. lol

But seriously....good stuff.

RE: anyone else into college football

Heck NO SFB! lol. When I first moved down to Lansing, I was wearing my U of M hat....with all it bright yellow color. Lets put it this way, I don't wear it anymore. lol....I am in the heart of Spartan country here.

I once talked with a couple students down here. I said I was a fan of both Spartans and Wolverines. They said, no....it don't work that way around here. lol So, I chose to be a Spartans fan. grin

But....secretly I don't mind the Wolverines. laugh

RE: anyone else into college football

I am excited for the Michigan State and Oregon game. Both teams are very good. The Michigan/Notre Dame game should be a good one also. thumbs up

RE: "WE HAVNT FORGOTTEN YOU GOLDY"

Wish you well GG. Hope everything went as smooth as you hoped. :)

RE: Dear Joan Rivers

True Lou Lou.

RE: Dear Joan Rivers

Hello L.L.,

I was not a big Joan Rivers fan...but it really is too bad she has passed. Some are somewhat baffled that she did die during her surgery. Many report she was very healthy for her age and also was doing stand-up the night before.

She will be missed by many.

SA....thank you....likewise with your friend.

BTW, Montana is a state. :)

RE: Good manners...

Hello Sib,

I think it is a mixed bag these days....some people have them and some people do not. I thought that most of the younger generation was moving away from good manners, but I was kindly reminded last night as I held the door for two younger ladies....."thank you very much" one said, while the other said, "thank you." I was somewhat surprised but in a beautiful way. :)

RE: IS WAR IN THE MAKING?

Here might be one more thing to be considered. We have a mid-term election coming up here in November. Is it possible that things are being blown out of proportion here...for the opposing party's political gain? I do not know the answer to that. I do not have any information other than what the media is telling me. But, given the current divide in our government, not much would surprise me.

dunno

RE: IS WAR IN THE MAKING?

Hello SR,

Is war in the making?

From some of the response, I can see some are not approving of Obama's policies. I for one, think he is doing an okay job...given the complex environment he is working in.

With how politically polarized our country has become, I think we will see a lot of disapproval with our citizens toward our government. If G.W. was in office, I have a feeling the question of "Is war in the making?" at this point would be a non-factor....because we would be in the middle of WWIII by now. I firmly believe that Obama is doing his best to avoid war. However, there seem to be others in our government that are watering at the mouth for it.

My 2 penniesdunno ...I don't follow politics too much, I can do without the headache. grin

Hope you are doing well SR.

It is not my fault

Hey Robert....this blog was certainly something different than what I have been used to posting. It was very late...or I guess early....when I posted it. This was pretty much something that was on my mind at the time. Thanks for posting....nice to see found it. :)

Looking forward to your upcoming blogs.

It is not my fault

Hi Pepps.....have you come to hi-jack my blog? laugh

It is not my fault

Hello KN,

I think you hit the nail on the head....it all stems with good parenting.

I wonder how this new generation is going to be. A lot of families are going through a tough time with divorces, drugs, and financial difficulties. The kids will be witness to all of this.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

It is not my fault

Hello Min,

You know, I really never thought of that...but I certainly believe it is possible. I have seen some weird things in my day that I really do not think any sort of modern science can explain. I am going to look into that.

Thanks so much.

It is not my fault

Hello L.L.,

The Kennedy gene? I am guessing that is what it is called. :)

Thank you so much for your post.

It is not my fault

Hello 1to1to1,

Thank you for your comment. I think most everyone should be held accountable for their actions. I agree, it seems as if this younger generation might be feeling a little too entitled. :) Although, I will say, I have met some very mature young 20 year old people.

wave

It is not my fault

Hello Min,

I cannot say whether it is true or not....sorry.

But, certainly I feel karma is holding the now father responsible for his actions. Maybe in time, the father will see the errors of his earlier ways in life. His son seems to be following his footsteps. Maybe the father cannot see his faults within himself; but, he may very well see them in his son.

You know, I got a sneaking feeling that the father is the way he is because he was not shown much love as a child from his parents. But...I don't know and that might be something to blog about in the future.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts Min.
