Mic - I am not pitting people against one another. Quite the contrary. I would like us all to be on the same page regarding the best way to fight the virus. However, it seems, that many have been misled as to what the facts are regarding the vaccines. Education should be a way out but the duped are confused what to believe. Those who mislead others to make the wrong decisions should have to pay for the costs incurred, as should those who followed the wrong path and thus stressed the medical systems. If you have car insurance, and an accident is your fault, your rates should go up to pay for those costs. A similar situation could be implemented for those who refuse the vaccine and subsequently get hospitalized due to Covid-19.
Unfortunately, it seems that deaths from Covid-19 have not peaked yet. However, that's a trailing indicator. Hopefully, that will too come down. Regardless, the numbers are still high. Not as high as before there were vaccinations, but high nonetheless. We certainly have not conquered the pandemic and the people who have refused to get vaccinated are not helping the situation. Indeed, quite the opposite.
Pharma advertises a lot in media, as does companies from other arenas. However, they do not control the media. Indeed, the roles of doctors and pharma in the opioid crisis was covered by the media.
Typical. More 'what about'... from you to distract from the relevant situation with still no admission, that the unvaccinated are the majority of those causing hospital overflows, especially in the midwest and Texas.
Yeah, don't blame the hospitals being overwhelmed with Covid-19 patients on the antivaxxers and the Russian misinformation campaign that put doubts in their miniscule minds, blame it on big pharma, the ones who made the vaccine in record times.
Yes. Yes. I remember your predictions about how Trump was going to win in a landslide over Biden. How Biden would never be able to handle Trump in a debate. Lets at least see how things look closer to election time.
This statement by Fauci was back in October 2020, long before we actually had the vaccines, or knew which ones would be approved. Many things were in development at the time and we weren't certain what the actual approved treatments & vaccines would be. Fauci was talking theoretically, indicating that relieving the symptoms initially would save lives and that should be the minimal immediate goal.
He was not talking about the eventual mRNA vaccines, that eventually got approved for emergency use. They DO both endpoints. HOWEVER, the Delta Variant is a much newer alternate, more infective form of the virus spreading faster and causing more "break through" infections of the vaccinated.
This does not mean that people shouldn't get vaccinated. It's just that the positive effects of the vaccine preventing infection are somewhat diluted because of the greater ease of infection of the Delta Varient. However, the vaccinated have a much higher probability of recovering from the disease and the symptoms are usually less severe than with the unvaccinated.
You are taking things out of context. Yes, the vaccinated CAN be infectious, but they are less likely to be so and more likely to recover from the infection. The Delta variant has raised the incidence of infection and breakthrough infections too.
This is precisely the type of misinformation that needs to be reported to the FBI. What the FBI does is investigate crime, and purposely spreading lies like this, since it misleads people to do harm to themselves, is criminal.
"There you go again" making conclusions, that were not made by the actual researchers. Indeed, they state that they "do not know" what the role of the vaccinated in the spread of the virus. It seems to me, that the people, who are most active (those actually getting vaccinated), are likely also the ones who would take the initiative to wear a mask in dense public situations. Those who take the stance of refusing to get vaccinated, seem to have the tendency to refuse wearing a mask also. Of course, there is variability within the population. But, it does seem to be a tendency. Either way, it is clear that the majority of the hospitalized for, and dying of, Covid-19 are the unvaccinated. Thus, they are clearly spreading the virus. How much is spread by the vaccinated is not known, as is stated within that Nature article indicated by one of the authors.
So, you calling the vaccinated "superspreaders" is irresponsible and likely quite dishonest. I personally know of a couple, who were vaccinated and the wife got covid-19 and the husband never did.
A second couple I know, who were unvaccinated and also refuse to wear masks in public. Sequentially, the husband got Covid-19 first and then the wife did 2 weeks later. This couple has small children. While I don't know if the family became "superspreaders" it seems likely, as their kids played with other kids. I remember him stubbornly adhering to the belief, that if you take vitamin D you won't get sick. Wrong !
A third couple, neighbors, he got Covid-19 before vaccines were available. She never did. But, after he got sick, they both wore masks and socially distanced, even within the house, until he was better.
Apparently, you still don't get it. People are finding excuses NOT to be personally nor socially responsible. Those people should be held accountable for their irresponsible activities.
Trump told more lies than any other US president and it wasn't close. That is clear. Indeed, he hasn't stopped lying. Yet, SOME people ignore that, and are so duped, that they try to twist the truth in an attempt to mask reality.
D - You can see the article above summarizing how bad Trump was. But, the absolute experts in US presidential history, people (both liberal and conservative) much more qualified to make such a judgement than anyone on here, myself included, judged Trump as the worst US president in our lifetime by scoring 10 different presidential criteria versus all the other US presidents.
This blog is about the crimes of Trump and the pending criminal charges. Biden will have 4 years to be president. We can judge his performance after that. Trump's 4 years were the worst of any US president in our lifetime.
No, the country WAS infected with a deranged Trump. Thankfully, he was relieved of duty and now the trials for his crimes against this country will proceed.
It seems that some people are so invested in the lies, that they simply refuse to consider the truth. They would rather read something baseless, that supports what they already believe, than the truth.

Good job.But he better not try that with a 12 footer.
