He is already asking you to keep secrets from the kids. Your kids will be hurt, but more so if it's kept a secret. The kids might wonder what other secrets and did he ever love us.... or was everything a lie?
You'd be suprised what kids know and feel, no matter what age.
Best of luck to you and the kids. I get the impression he will do the same to the new stepchild.
When you get what you want in your struggle for self, and the world makes you king for a day, just go to a mirror and look at yourself, and see what that man has to say. For it isn't your father or mother or wife, whose judgement upon you must pass, the fellow whose verdict counts most in your life is the one staring back from the glass. Some people might think you're a straight shootin' chum, and call you a wonderful guy but the man in the glass says you're only a bum, if you can't look him straight in the eye He's the fellow to please, never mind all the rest, for he's with you straight up to the end. And you've passed your most dangerous difficult test, if the guy in the glass is you friend. You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years, And get pats on the back as you pass But your final reward will be heartaches and tears if you cheated the man in the glass. - "The Man In The Glass" From Ann Landers 10/05/83
Written by someone who died from the after affects of recovering from his drug addiction
Be understanding to your enemies Be loyal to your friends Be strong enough to face the world each day Be weak enough to know that you cannot do everything alone Be generous to those who need your help Be frugal with what you need yourself Be wise enough to know that you do not know everything Be foolish enough to believe in miracles Be willing to share your joys Be willing to share the sorrows of others Be a leader when you see a path others have missed Be a follower when you are shrouded by the mists of uncertainty Be the first to congratulate an opponent who succeeds Be the last to criticize a colleague who fails Be sure where your next step will fall so that you will not stumble. Be sure of your final destination in case you are going the wrong way. Be loving to those who love you Be loving to those who do not love you and they may change Above all be yourself. - "Be" From Ann Landers Column
Well I was not born this way....... someone had to show me. The rule of thumb when techs and computer geeks were teaching me stuff. was as they said, share what you know and pass it on.
What goes around comes around. I thoroughly believe that!
I can't find "system tools" like they used to be - this new computer has vista premium ... on your menu bar... do you see File Edit View History Bookmarks Tools Help ????
If so, click on Tools there is a drop down menu. I am not on the computer at work so I can not describe exactly what is there. The one at work as Vista Pro
Look for options, or Clear Private Data --- You should see button that says or asks: Cear private data now Click on that.
If you use Options on the drop down menu: click on the PRIVACY tap. You should see something that says: Clear now click on that.
Sorry do not know how to explain it better.
Anyone Please jump in and give correct instructions.
Yes your instructions are right......... sometimes the cookies are not good ones and tend to stick around. CCCLeaner is just a tool to get ride of those.
As a result of public outcry in response to surreptitious profiling, cookie controls were placed in post 3.x browsers to allow users to turn cookies off -- options that were not available in 1995 when permanent cookie technology was first embedded into browsers without public awareness or knowledge of how they could be used. Third-party cookies often have their own controls, as they are normally cookies placed by marketers that are used for profiling.
Cookie controls also allow user-created lists for exceptions, so that one can turn cookies off, for example, but exempt sites where cookies are put to a useful purpose.
The name "cookie" comes from fortune cookie, because of the hidden information inside.
Do you have a firewall? It is a program used to block things from getting into your computer. Look at it as a locked door keeping things out. :-)
A computer cookie is a small text file which contains a unique ID tag, placed on your computer by a website. The website saves a complimentary file with a matching ID tag. In this file various information can be stored, from pages visited on the site, to information voluntarily given to the site. When you revisit the site days or weeks later, the site can recognize you by matching the cookie on your computer with the counterpart in its database.
There are two types of cookies: temporary and permanent. Temporary cookies, also called session cookies, are stored temporarily in your browser's memory and are deleted as soon as you end the session by closing the browser. Permanent cookies, also called persistent cookies, are stored permanently on your computer's hard drive and, if deleted, will be recreated the next time you visit the sites that placed them there.
Cookie technology addressed the need to keep track of information entered at a site so that if you submitted a registration form for example, the site could associate that information with you as you traveled through the site's pages. Otherwise, every time you clicked on a different page in the site, establishing a new connection, the site would lose the information in reference to you, and would have to ask you for it again.
Heritage Fest Weekend. Where all cultures are on displays, foods, music, and shows.
My father dresses up as a leprechan, gives out chocolate coins. My cousin's Irish dance school puts on performances.
Yesterday a group of African drummers were allowed to use the Irish pavillon stage..... and a very old man who played an accordian for the Scot's group, joined in. It was a great way to show all nationalities could get along.
My father at one point told some one that one drummer was his brother from Belfast, and he was black Irish.
There is an expression, "Black Irish", but no one agrees as to where it originated from so I won't attempt to explain it.
I waited and waited........ then figured if no one was here...... I was getting some zzzzz's
P.S. if I had gone after a certain poster..... you were not here to hold me back...... it could have gotten messy..... and that awesome slab of steak.... would have been used to heal someone's boo boo.
Age does not make a person the head of anything. It should be character and wisdom.
In my mother's time, it was the men who were the head of the family. My Uncle and my Father are from Dublin, and they have rules that say the woman only cooks, men have their supper waiting on the table for them when they get home. My mother worked full time, so I would make supper when I came home, or prepare the potatoes to go with the supper she had prepared before going to work.
As much as my father is from an era where the men rule the house, my mother is the rock that holds it together, looks after bills etc. My father is the man of the house, but my mother is the one who I feel rules the house because she is the rock that holds it together.
I feel the same. Do not want to be a baby sitter or some one's mommy. It even says so in my profile.
If the male is with in a certain range, younger is ok.... but if it's 10 yrs or more, I feel we might not have as many things in common and his expectations might be different. It is not that way for all couple of an age range that is 10 yrs or more.
A lot of older women do know what they want. and for the most part know what standards of character they like.
A younger woman with a older man, I have seen more of these relationships last, but these marriages are from people the same age as my parents. My Aunt, may she rest in peace, is 17 yrs younger than her late husband. I have never seen a more perfect couple. He encouraged her to work part time, and later on full time. Have activities and grow. They also gave each other the special look and smiled at each other that I know most of you know what I mean. They both cared more for each other than they did themselves.
Gold diggers.... with older people, you have male and females one.
The only time an age difference should be a problem, is when the 2 people involved have a problem with it.
Hmm maybe not. Here in Edmonton because of the Heritage fest... people call it Heritage weekend.
Information About Civic Holiday: Civic Holiday in Canada. The intent of the Civic Holiday is to "not work". So please don't work on Civic Holiday! In Canada Civic Holiday is in most cases the first Monday of August unless another civil or provincial holiday exists on a different date, in which case the local holiday is used.
Civic Holiday in Canada is not statutory holiday. A bill has been attempted to be passed in the house of commons but it has always been unsuccessful. If an employer wants you to work, it is a work day.
What you will often find, however, is that its name Civic Holiday changes from province to province, and even amongst different regions within provinces in Canada. This tells us that Civic Holiday is not as important as some other holidays, but still it is celebrated as a statutory Canadian holiday.
Unlike in Canada, Civic Holiday in United States (US) is called Labor Day.
