There is no reason you should not still love her, but you do still move on. Why leave when there is nothing left but hate??? Better to have love and lost then not to have loved at all.... maybe there is some wisdom to that saying...??
I loved the person I thought my ex was when we got married ... he is the father of my children ... but I care in a small way for him but ... in my case ... no love is left for my ex. Your ex is lucky because you believe in the for better or worse, sickness and in health, richer or poorer... he did not.
There are many couples that have split but are still caring, and even better friends after the split. If this is what you have phoenixrising... you are a lucky man.
I can not forget people like Harry Patch, my grandparents (one grandmother and both grandfathers) who fought in the wars, or people in history that made a difference so we could live the life of freedom we have compared to others.
Love him or hate him ... Pierre Elliot Trudeau ... he was different from so many politicians.
Jimmy Stewart ... he was a war hero, did not brag, and he stayed himself, did not become some hollywood type. He was unique.
Mahatma Gandhi ... he was brave enough and dared to stand up for the rights of others. He was also a smart man. He did not close his eyes to what was going on around him.
Scientists/Dr.s and their teams that worked to find the cure for different things. Example Banting and Best for finding insulin to help diabetics. (only they have a plaque and have paid tribute to the animals that were used to find a cure. Sorry animal rights activists but they are the only ones that did acknowledge the animals that helped them find insulin.)
I've always admired Great/Good dancers/ and painters because they had the talent, did the hard work/sacrifice to get to be as good as they are. They had the belief in themselves and were not afraid of what it took to be as good as they are.
My Mother because she taught me more about looking after special needs kids, gave up so much to look after them. What it took to keep her marriage going, raise us, work full time, do community work, and never did anything and expected to be thanked or acknowledged for it. She has many qualities I have come to admire and wish I had.
Did you ever wonder why there are no dead penguins on the ice in Antarctica - where do they go?
Well........Wonder no more!!!
It is a known fact that the penguin is a very ritualistic bird which lives an extremely ordered and complex life.
The penguin is very committed to its family and will mate for life, as well as maintaining a form of compassionate contact with its offspring throughout its life.
If a penguin is found dead on the ice surface, other members of the family and social circle have been known to dig holes in the ice, using their vestigial wings and beaks, until the hole is deep enough for the dead bird to be rolled into and buried.
The male penguins then gather in a circle around the fresh grave and sing:
Your question " I BET NONE OF EVER PUBLICLY STOOD UP FOR SOMETHING YOU BELIEVED IN CAMPAIGNED OR EVER DEMONSTRATED?"
I lived in Northern Quebec. Was the only parent with a child dealing with Autism. I told a minister of health about how his government did "Sweet F__K all" for my son. The minister was going around making a tour and the place where the services were supposed to come from, were showing off all that they accomplished. I was very vocal about what was gong on ... English do not have much in the way of rights in some areas of Quebec.
I also belonged to a group representing getting rights for Anglophones. I had no problem standing up at some forum and letting the board members and the Government rep get told off.
Did I have a problem hanging out my Canadian Flag on July 1st, when told I was not allowed to??? Hell No!!
I work for 6 temp agencies. Even they have been suffering. Am getting some interviews, but when you are competing with much younger kids/young adults, it's not easy.
I was told that if the place I volunteer at had known me 3 weeks before I started, I would have been given a paying job. It would be a dream job for me. Helping people with disabilities in a creative outlet, and doing/teaching art at the same time. sigh. LOL (I'm keeping fingers and toes crossed, that a paying position will be available in the future.) In the mean time, in between interviews, do lots of temp jobs.
Being unemployed has made it easier for me to help my mother. Trying to hold down a full time job, then going to my parent's after wards, was draining. My dog is happy to have me home more often.
Alberta led the country in a key rate of growth, says a just-released survey by Statistics Canada.
But it’s not the kind of growth we want to see.
Alberta has seen the fastest growth in the nation of people receiving unemployment insurance (EI) benefits.
We’re up 16.8% from April to May of this year, says StatsCan.
The news gets even grimmer here in E-town.
In a one-year period, Edmonton has seen the number of people on EI nearly quadruple, from 4,250 in May 2008 to 16,040 this past May.
But it could be worse.
Our Cowtown cousins beat us out in the bad-news department.
Over that same timeframe, the number of people on pogy in Calgary leaped from 4,130 to 18,150.
That means Calgary and Edmonton rank No. 1 and No. 2 in the nation in the percentage of increase in EI claims compared to any other major city.
The StatsCan survey showed 778,700 people were on EI in Canada, up nearly 310,000 from just a year ago. That’s the highest number of people on the dole since 1997, say officials.
I have not spoken to Hollandgirl, but have emailed her. She is feeling very down, but doing as well as can be expected. She was supposed to take a trip to see Robert, but am not sure when that is exactly.
I'll let you know when she has let me know how she is doing.
Gilly's question was regarding "REAL Love" and have we ever experienced it, or could tell "What Real Love" is.
I did not see anything that said, it could only be between you and the person you are with. Nothing in his question said we could not mention children or family.
True love... is how my father feels about my mother and visa versa. After 54 yrs of marriage, they hold hands, still give each other a kiss, he buys her flowers every week. My mother has the patience of a saint and still lights up when my father is around. They care for and respect each other. That is what I call true love between 2 people in a relationship. My mother brings out the best in my father. I've learned more about love in a healthy relationship from them, than anyone else.
I feel that the person I am engaged to, has taught me much about love. Is it a fairy tale??? NO. Do I feel I am in a relationship that is strong and healthy? YES!!
Is it safe to assume you are not a parent Gilly????
As most parents about true love. It might be different from the love you were asking about, but that is the best version of true love I could truly admit to.
I love my parents, as much as we might be different and annoy each other from time to time.
I love my fiance. That is true.
So what does "real love" mean? Hopefully it's not some fairy tale you were hoping to hear about.
Just got back from seeing the "Lion King" stage production ... HOLY CRAP A DOO DAH ... it was amazing. Highly recommend it, if you get the chance to see it.
The music was fantastic, but the way the character's were played by human's wearing puppet props. or using just the way the costumes were made, will take your breath away.
ST. PAUL, Minnesota — The video of a Minnesota couple who boogied down a church aisle with their wedding party to the surprise of their guests is a hit on YouTube.
Kevin Heinz and Jillian Peterson, their seven bridesmaids, five groomsmen and four ushers danced down the aisle to the Chris Brown song “Forever” before the couple exchanged vows June 20 in St. Paul.
Peterson said Friday on NBC’s “Today” show that she grew up dancing and loves dance as a way of expression. She says she didn’t have any trouble talking Heinz into it for their wedding.
After posting the video on YouTube for family members, Heinz says the number of hits just exploded. The video has gotten more than 1.4 million hits on YouTube as of Friday.
