wow gillylove, you make some pretty astonishing claims there which i would love to know more about. i am not in any sense a royalist and believe that Diana was treated shoddily from the start- i would love to hear more about the bullets in the tyres and the driver not being drunk as i really havent been following much of this story.
i was very happy to hear a few months since that mr al fayed had achieved the right to have this whole matter heard in an open court - the fact that there was such a fight for this suggests much underhandedness - i hope this doesnt also turn into yet another kind of farcical coverup.
well, this time i really am going to bed - i just went into the kitchen and noticed that the sun has started to come up - am glad i have nothing much to do tomorrow.
night night to anybody still here - good to meet you Zenith - i hope we chat again
Dear Zenith, What an absolute pleasure to meet you. You most certainly do not have to put in words that you are a well read person, it is self evident. As for reading material or any other need, i believe when we are ready, these things show themselves - some kind of magnificent synchronicity i think - ah, and peole speak of faith!
I imagine you thoroughly enjoy your 'get togethers' with such like minded individuals I too find it thoroughly refreshing not to have to constantly qualify each statement i make, but to simply have someone 'know' without question and to contemplate your words thoroughly and mindfilly before venturing a reply - there is no superiority in this way of life - all are equal and in the right place at the right time.
I wonder which kind of books you prefer - my favourite type of novel is science fantasy but have looked at different genres over the years.
Must be tough living in the bible belt - i dont know cos i havent experienced it - its bad enough here, all my neighbours belong to the local church which is only down the road - they are good neighbours though and if i keep myself to myself they pretty much confine discussiomn to garden topics - which is great by me - i can agree on those topics and often, even defer to their greater knowledge.
apologies now for mistakes in spelling and grammer cos im not going to read through again before posting.
if im not mistaken they had their roots in the holy wars and affiliation with other secret societies such as the rosicrucians - am not much into secret societies sorry please dont take offence - thats as bad as the gnostic gospels being hidden feom christians because they were not considered 'intellectually unevolved'
Dear Zenith, I thank you for your kind words, thoughts and obvious intelligence. I agree with you so much but have the question regarding organised religion having its place in society. I think its place and time in society has passed now and that, even though in its infancy, energy spirituality has a very challenging gap to fill. I dont know about where you live but here in england, people are making very elegant homes out of what used to be places of worship which suggests to me that there isnt quite as much money coming into the collection boxes as there used to be and land is getting sold off. I ask, do you think that possibly, despite the efforts of the faithful, that these devisive religions may finally become consigned to the annals of her/history - at some point?
yes and i do - do you - the first of these is to refuse a senseless pointless argument - your assumptions yet again suggest some sort of superiority on your part - i wish you well
i am not, nor would i, presume to suggest what anybody believe. my reactions come from comments used by people in this thread which attempt to invoke fear within people who dont adhere to the hell fire and damnation principles of most organised religions
thanks Zenith - but i think i just woke up again - will prob be here for half an hour or so so please, lets look at this further - i have also enjoyed chatting with you
Hi Zenith, good to meet you. for myself i answer yes to your question. if you walk into any given situation you essentialy chance its being because it is all accountable to 'energy' - which as FGWB says elsewhere, is a much more ccceptable term, it isnt besmirched with dogmatism for a start. we are energy = thou art energy = whatever you choose to call this
Good night folks. may you continue to honour each others views
ps organised religion 'did' have the opportunity and has even made a school of apologetics - for myself, i merely repudiate their claims but as for if it had never '"tainted my life" - well, i shall never know - because it has
people have a need to belong - whether it be to another person or a belief sysyem the need persists - this is why we find clans, cliques or organisatins - everybody needs someone to believe in their thoughts and beliefs - it is a part of self actualisation - a theory of the psychologist , Maslow - as in ; Maslows Hierarxhy Of Need - well worth a google
Hi Di and welcome to the forums so happy that this topic interests you.
i found this quote from the speech where Marx, (my hero) made the speech about religion being the opium of the masses;
"Criticism has plucked the imaginary flowers on the chain not in order that man shall continue to bear that chain without fantasy or consolation, but so that he shall throw off the chain and pluck the living flower. The criticism of religion disillusions man, so that he will think, act, and fashion his reality like a man who has discarded his illusions and regained his senses, so that he will move around himself as his own true Sun. Religion is only the illusory Sun which revolves around man as long as he does not revolve around himself"
oh please - stop pushing that 'fear' stuff - it is so yeterday - my beliefs are long held and assured by the agreement of millions of people worldwide - just face it
i usually agree with Dawkins too. i saw the movie as a good exercise in self assertion which were maybe assumptions but in my opinion, were assumpions which were open to discussion as opposed to dogmatic dictates
i read a suggestion today that 'ego' plays a large part in all of this, i think in as much as we need, as humans to belong, we have to identify also - for such a long time we were encouraged to think 'inside the box' which inevitably led to less comminication between potential dissenters - effectively, we werte controllled and not allowed to speak our true 'selves'
you are right, i must agree and admit to hesitation as i worte those words - i said them for want of a better way to gloss over the differences between blind adherence and scientific assumption/certainty
this is the paradox of the god conundrum - this 'handiwork' is seen differently by people of different belief systems - none are less valid than another - but some are more scientifficaly based than others.
RE: why did people love princess diana so much ?..was she just a pretty face ? and why not love camila ?
